Any tips?

I just got the mat pack from SU. Are there any tips as to using it or is it pretty straight forward? I haven't looked at it yet but just thought I'd ask!
Thanks!

Danni, how fun - it's easy to use. Of course I didn't put mine to use for a very long time and then realized my template is crooked. Woops. I need to get a new one. Enjoy! Kim

Hello Danni! I still need to go check out your SB layouts...

I have the mat pack...I don't have any handy tips off the top of my head. I use mine in conjunction with my Making Memories tool kit. That Making Memories tool kit has my piercer and three sizes of punches.

New toys are fun!

LOL, I think it's pretty straight-forward but interestingly, I can never pierce a straight line using it! I don't know if my thingie is crooked ... or I am. Either way, I have issues. Good luck ... let us know how you make out with it.

Love my mat pack...use it often to line up brads, make faux stitching, etc... I was having a hard time inserting brads into cards after piercing the hole, then I discovered just leave the card on the pad and insert the brad in that way, a world of differnce. Have fun!!!

As you look at the plastic mat...there are black guidelines...use them and you will always make a straight line. especially along the corners because the lines are made to follow a card around a corner. If you are doing just a straight line, line the straight line along the edge of your cardstock. if you are going to go around a corner to continue along another edge OR if you are using it to make the cute piercings in one corner... put your mat right up against the corner-match up the lines going across and down with the edge of your cardstock. It is made to go on the right side or the left.

You will see also there are two different guides. the little holes along the outside edge has holes closer together....the one holes in the middle are a bit further apart.

Hope this helps!
