Try It Out Tuesday #12
This week's challenge was Gift Day! We were to create a card and two gifts with stamps and supplies from Susana's store.
Be sure to check out the store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see what the other talented design team members came up with!
I think I made this much harder than it needed to be. I thought and thought and agonized over this. Even told Susana and Suzanne I didn't think I'd participate this week but then I realized I was being silly and sat down and this is what I came up with.
On the card I cut out the teeny butterfly and popped it up on a little pop dot.
On the bookmark I used the Crinkled Chalk Technique.
Supplies:
For the card:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Cathrine with butterfly, Lockhart Itty Bitty Butterfly on inside,
paper: some from my scraps,
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,
others: copics (don't forget the awesome bundles that Susana carries here), Bazzill Bitty Blossoms, granny smith bella baubles, stardust stickles (Susana also carries LOTS of wonderful stickles!! See them here)
For the bookmark:
bookmark size: 2 x 5 1/2
stamps: Butterflies from Things With Wings sheet,
paper: Georgia Pacific, some from my scraps
ink: VersaMagic Pink Petunia, VersaMagic Sea Breeze, VersaMagic Tea Leaves,
others: Martha Stewart punch, fiber,
For the coaster book:
coasters were given to me and they are 4x4 in size
stamps: Butterflies from Things With Wings sheet
paper: some from scraps
ink: VersaMagic Pink Petunia, VersaMagic Tea Leaves, Memento Tuxedo Black,
others: corner rounder, shaped eyelets, ribbon, copics, Pixie Dust Shimmerz,

Twinkling Tuesday #16
For this week we have Rebecca's son, Jameson as our temp. twinkie! He gave us an inspiration photo and a story!! He's 8 and in grade 2! I'm so impressed with these kiddos and what they come up with. Soon I'll have to get mine in on the fun!!
Here's the inspiration photo~
And here's the story:
Mickey is a Park Ranger working in the national forest. One day on his patrols, he hears a cry for help. He sees a beautiful girl mouse with tears on her face because she has fallen while hiking and broken her leg. The gallant Mickey comes to the rescue of the lovely Minnie, administers first aid, drives her to the hospital, waits for her to be treated and drives her home. They fall in love and the rest is history. However, a few months later, when Mickey goes to pick up his tuxedo on the morning of their wedding day, they have accidentally rented out all of the mouse-sized tuxes! So Mickey shows up anyway in his Ranger uniform. Minnie starts up the aisle and is surprised to see Mickey wearing his uniform but she doesn’t care because that is how he looked when she fell in love with him!
Be sure to visit Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday blog to see the featured twinklette for this week and also visit the other twinklette blogs (links on left <-- over there) to see what they came up with. We would love to have you play along! Leave a comment with a link to your creation on Madelynn's blog or if you upload to SCS or PCP, use the keyword, MTTSC16.
I struggled with this one. All I could think of was a beautiful love story and sadly, I have no stamps of my own that are of a couple. So I resorted to my image box and luckily there I found many possibilities. I chose this Sarah Kay image as I thought it was just perfect to decpict a love story starting....and one where appearance wouldn't matter one bit.
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from RAK,
paper: Basic Grey Bittersweet,
ink: Palette Burnt Umber,
others: prismacolors, OMS, Fiskars Border punch, Glitter Heirloom Hearts,

Just a little note..
I just wanted to stop for a minute and say thank you to all of you who come visit my blog! It truly means so much to me and I truly appreciate all the comments you leave.
I have been sort of having a rough time the past few days, call it a funk or lack of mojo or whatever and it's all of YOU that have helped me to get myself out of it.
I haven't had a chance in a few days to comment on blogs but know I've looked and I've loved all the creations I've seen.
I hope that with Sam going back to work today and Matthew going back to school tomorrow that I will have a chance to get back into a routine and visit you all and leave comments again.
Anyhoo, thanks again!!!

Miss Anya
I know I've mentioned it before, but I just love the stamps from The Greeting Farm. Here's another image that was shared with me, another set I so want! It's called Miss Anya.
I was so happy that I cut her out without cutting any of her important parts off and none of my important parts off but then when I went to outline her with my black marker, I smudged some of it on her boot. Downfall of using RAK images, you can't just stamp another boot to go over it! So I left it and pretended that's what I meant to do. LOL!
I couldn't get the sparkle to show up but her purse has shimmerz on it and then her headband and boots have copic glitter pen. She's really quite sparkly in real life!
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from RAK, TAC Retail Therapy-retired- on inside
paper: TAC Rustic Chic,
ink:
others: copics, CM cutting system, pink poinsettia shimmerz, copic glitter pens, rhinestone stickers,

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long #10
I can't believe we're already on week #10!!Wow! I feel good in knowing that my Christmas cards are being made so maybe there won't be the mad rush in December.
This week's sketch came from a card that was submitted by Gracie. It's a great sketch but one that had me in my normal ACK mode as I don't have many long skinny images. I had to search and think a bit on this one. Even still I didn't make it like the sketch, I tried but it just didn't work. LOL!
Remember to check out the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog to see what the other challenge divas came up with! The directions are there too on how to play along! We'd love to see your work!
EEK! Looks like I need a new cutting blade! LOL!
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from a RAK, TAC Snowflakes on inside
paper:
ink: Palette Jardin Moss, SU Real Red
others: prismacolors, OMS, ribbon, white glitter dots, Scor-Pal glitter clean up cloth (This is awesome), Martha Stewart Snow/glitter, icicle stickles,

A new poll.
Just for my own knowledge, I created a poll over there --->, please take a minute and answer it for me. Thanks!
3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #6
This week's 3 Clovers Thursday Challenge was to create a purple birthday card with glitter in honor of Kerry's birthday on the 1st.
Sounded easy enough so I thought I'd give it a try!
I've been thinking alot about my card making. I love it but I tend to rush through cards and not really "think" about all the extra things I like to do so I'm really going to try to start slowing down and putting more effort and thought into my cards as it's truly the little details that make a card "pop". Little things like sewing, cutting out part of the image and putting it on dimensionals, paper piecing and so on. So that's my new goal...slow it down and think! Even on cards that I don't want bulky, I can still "step them up a bit".
For this card I stamped the balloons twice and cut out one of the images and raised it up on dimensionals.
I also used a sketch from Taylored Expressions, TECC42.
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: TAC Dear Friend, A Muse Essential Ovals, TAC Squiggle Ladybugs for sentiment, TAC Birthday Blessings (retired) on inside
paper: Georgia Pacific, Bossoms and Butterflies Stack,
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Pretty Petunia, Palette French Lilac,
Another Tilda
I'm not sure of this Tilda's name, think she might have been from the New Year's Collection?? A friend sent this image to me as a RAK. I just thought it was time to color her and turn her into a card!
I've really been liking cards that aren't so bulky for mailing lately. I think they still look nice, in a simple way. What do you think??
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from a RAK, CTMH Flutter-on inside
paper: some that a friend gave me,
ink: VersaMagic Aquatic Splash,
others: copics, CM fine tip pen, sunflower shimmerz,

Another sweet Tilda that I received as a RAK. I thought she was just adorable in her little bunny suit. I colored her at Jennifer's house and couldn't decide on what color to use so she helped me decide on pink. I think it was the perfect color choice, don't you?

Woo-hoo!! It's my 50th week of doing Flutter By Wednesday's!! I am just so excited!! In honor of this we have lots of fun in store!
First we have a special guest designer, Catherine St. Clair! She has truly been an inspiration to me. I met her in a yahoo group and just immediately fell in love with her work. Then she branched off and started her own online store, Paper Garden Projects. Such a great store too! She's also who I've consulted with on numerous occasions about copics, inks and other fun stuff. I am honored that she agreed to be my guest designer for this special day!
For this special week, I chose to have a sketch challenge. Maria Bell graciously allowed me to use her sketches and here's the one I chose for this week:
