Pearl the Mermaid

I've been enjoying the past few days as I've been just creating what I'm in the mood for...not DT work, no challenges, nothing except what inspires me. Fun to take time to do that once in a while.
I think I mentioned that mermaids are catching my eye lately. So funny as I use to not care for them at all. Guess they won my heart though. Here's a cute one from Tiddly Inks Digital Stamps
You might need some sunglasses...I got a little carried away with the bright colors..hehehe! She makes me smile though, especially her pink pearl!

supplies:
  • card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • stamps: Pearl the Mermaid digi,
  • paper: DCWV All Dressed Up stack, SU cardstock,
  • ink:
  • others: copics, Petaloo dazzlers, smooch, stickles, shimmerz,
On a more serious note, I wanted to share a blog post that was shared on Facebook a few days by a friend. This was a serious a-ha moment for me! please take time to read it or at least look up the side effects from using Splenda. I have used Splenda in my ice tea for quite a while..I stopped using it the minute I read this, which has been about 3 days ago and yes, I'm feeling better. Not saying it's all related to that, could be other things but still....

Danni, in regards to the Splenda, my kids and I do not consume any artificial sweetener. My husband has had a Diet Coke addiction for decades. A few years ago he decided it was time to go to the gym and get back in shape, and I told him he needed to cut out the Diet Coke from his diet. He was skeptical, but he went along and felt so much better. I truly believe that that helped him lose a lot (!) of weight. Recent studies have shown that Diet drinks actually contribute to weight gain.

Danni first off - what a cute card! So fun! Second, I saw that post and I have to tell you it scared the crap out of me! For about 3 weeks I have been complaining of a horrible taste in my mouth and of course, fatigue. I too, have stopped using Splenda (I can't even tell you how much I was using...it's CRAZY) and am feeling so much better! I was actually up today at 8:15 rearing to go. No sleeping till noon...can you believe it?

I also love mermaids Danni. Have you see the one that S2G has or Sweet Pea Stamps (they have several that are beautiful). This one is precious

Wowzers lovely bright cheerful colours! Gorgeous

Hmmm... don't know what goes into Splenda but I'm guessing it's a chemical sugar substitute. I try to avoid the substitute stuff all round. I eat butter, not spread, but I eat it in moderation. Works for me...

I love your bright card! Cheery and smiley. And yes this is something we all need to do i think "not DT work, no challenges, nothing except what inspires me. Fun to take time to do that once in a while." And thanks for the splenda link. Quite shocking.
