Day 1 of our moving adventure

Today was the first day of our driving adventure. It was one of our shortest days but I have to say, it felt like an eternity.

We got started early---before we left the hotel Matthew got sick, we chalked it up to nerves. Had to stop a few times for Sam to fix the tarp on the truck and on the last one of those stops..Belle got sick..everywhere. Good thing for having a trash bag to put her coat, stuffed animal and blanket it...(crossing fingers for a laundry soon) and wipes to clean her up. We moved on and then she got sick again....stopped and ate with the boys...(Matthew got sick)....then on the road again....two more times of Belle getting sick. Ugh.

Not really sure if it's car sickness, nerves, bad food??? who knows! We are all at the hotel in Gallup, New Mexico resting and relaxing and hopefully getting better.

The dogs have done awesome--and they are who I was worried about. Freckles doesn't care for the snow and ice (there are just patches of it left in the parking lot--none on the roads) that is here where as Daisy doesn't seem bothered by it. Daisy is one scaredy cat puppy though..everything is scaring her. But really they are doing awesome.

I'm exhausted so I'm going to do a few things and then relax. Sam just went to get our supper. If tomorrow goes more smoothly, I'll upload photos then.

Happy Wednesday..LOL!!

Oh, you poor thing! Doesn't sound like fun traveling for you all! Glad the dogs are doing okay. Hope the kids are better tomorrow, and no more sickness for anyone else.

Oh Danni, Im so sorry that your first day on the road was so rough. Maybe after all the kids get settled tonight and relax a bit more, they will have a better day tomorrow.

I will add in a little prayer for no more car-sickness in with your safe driving prayers tonight.

Hope tomorrow starts on a more positive note and you get some photos up of the smiling kids!

*Hugs*

Oh man, that would make for a really "long" trip. Thank goodness they had laundry for washing out Belle's stuff. I hope tomorrow is a sickness free drive for you.

What a rough first day. I hope that tomorrow is better. Are the kids old enough to take Dramamine? We used to give it to our daughter for car sickness on trips, but I can't remember what age she started taking it. Big hugs to all of you.

Oh Danni...I feel so badly for all of you. Not fun at all for the kids to be sick. At least you are ALL together in this! My dog does not like changes either, so it must be quite common.I took him 15 minutes away so he could swim in the lake (heck,he is lab, they are suppose to love it) Danni,he was sooo scared to get out of the car. So I know what you are talking about with the furball!
