Stampin' Up Sunday- Love You Lots

Today I have a few cards to share using the Hostess set~ Love You Lots! It's easy to earn this set for free, send me an email if you're interested!

I really had tons of fun playing with this set! For my first card I also had a lot of fun using my Bow Builder Punch for the first time! It was super easy to put the bow together (I did watch SU's video on it first) and oh.my.goodness look how cute it is!! I can't wait to make more of those cute bows!!

I stamped the inside of the card and the envelope as well. I really liked how Jennifer McGuire showed in her craft room tour how she always keeps envelopes with the cards she makes so it's easy to grab them and get them ready to mail. I thought I might start trying this as well.

My second card uses the cute hedgies stamp from the set and I paired it with A Little Foxy Designer Paper. Who says it's only for foxes?

I always stamp the back of my cards and the Better Than Email set is so much fun!! Take credit for your work and it also helps you follow SU's angel policy!

You shop at my Stampin' Up website anytime and it's a GREAT time to shop as it's Sale-a-bration time! Who doesn't like free stamps!! SU also has the new Occasions Catalog out now too and it has LOTS of fun goodies in it!!

For those of you not on Facebook, I'm super excited to say I got the job at the YMCA. I just have to wait for my background check to come back and then I will get started!

Have a happy day!

A little clarification on the MISTI and Quilting Template

I seemed to cause quite a ruckus by my little tutorial/tips below with the MISTI as I had lots of emails about the quilting template. I made a little video (I am NOT a good video person so bear with me) to help explain!

Here is the link to Lydia's tutorial on this which is MUCH better than mine!

I hope this helps explain it a bit better! and I will work on my video skills! LOL!

How Danni uses the MISTI

I have a friend who is considering the MISTI and was asking some questions so I figured it would be easier to "show" here how I use it.

I took these photos very quickly so they aren't the greatest.

I learned by other bloggers and wrote a post on it HERE, if you want to check out some other links/tutorials that might help you.

I have the original MISTI and this shows the grid paper pad that you get with it too.

This shows how the black foam mat comes out for stamping with unmounted rubber stamps (which is what I had on my desk). I bought extra magnets and yes, they are super strong! Be careful! I saw someone had the clever idea of putting washi tape on them for "handles" and that has helped me so much.

Once you are ready to stamp you just place your paper down, place the magnets and then I lay the stamp on top of the paper.

Then I close the lid so the stamp can adhere to the top (this is like applying the stamp to an acrylic block).

I bought these plastic quilting templates at Michael's. I cut one down to the size of the MISTI. I use these so that I can see exactly where a rubber stamp is going to stamp before stamping on the paper! Takes the guess work out of it!

Next I ink up my stamp, place the quilting template on top of the paper and close the MISTI lid, pressing gently. When you raise the lid you can see the placement of your stamp perfectly and know whether you need to position it differently or not. If it's where you want it, you can remove the quilting template, wipe it clean and stamp directly onto your paper.

My stamp was where I wanted it so I just stamped it. The advantage with the MISTI is that if it doesn't stamp perfectly you can just ink it up again and stamp it again without any worries of the paper moving.

If you are using clear stamps, you put the black foam piece in the MISTI and then put the paper in, the stamp and then stamp since you can see exactly where the clear stamp will stamp.

Hope this helps a little bit! I must say I swore I didn't need this tool. Resisted for a very long time and now I don't know how I lived without it!!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me!

It was a coloring day!

Today I have a card to share. I was itching to color so I went with that mojo!

As I was coloring up this sweet digi it felt like deja vu so I looked and I guess I really like this color combo with this image as look at how I colored her up before~ HERE!

I had to alter things a bit as I goofed a bit with the ribbon but I think I hid my mistake well. Isn't that what us crafters do--just use a mistake as a chance to embellish and alter?

I used a past sketch from Paper Play Sketches for my layout.

More layouts!

I've been busy scrapbooking! 3 more layouts to share! I really am having the best time scrappin' but I think I will be making a card or so soon~~ don't want to get rusty on my coloring!

Again, not the greatest photos but you get the idea. I used my CTMH idea books for the first two layouts and then used a sketch from SCS for the last one.

Here's the SCS sketch I used for the last layout~

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back soon! I'm excited that I went on a job interview today and I go back later in the week for the second part of the interview. Crossing my fingers that this one works out!!

Have a happy day!

The first layouts of 2017!

I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had starting my scrappy journey again! I think I might have even caught myself smiling!!

I fought and fought to get decent photos of the layouts but then I just decided it's not worth it. I am a person who likes to share my creations but I'm not going to lose the joy of creating over getting the perfect photo of the creation.

So these are not the best photos but I think they will still give you the idea of the layout!

For all of the layouts I made yesterday I used the CTMH Make It From Your Heart series of books. I love CTMH when I'm scrappin! All of these pages use retired papers and accents from CTMH.

The next two layouts go together. I was so pleased with myself that I stamped on these layouts!! I used the SU Gorgeous Grunge for the little "dirt" spots! I enjoyed using some of my embossing folders as well!

Have an amazing day! Sam took a few days off for us to have more family fun so today we're off to see the movie Sing and then tomorrow we're off to the zoo. Of course I plan on getting in some crafty time too!!

See you back here soon!
