It's time for a new Zodiac digi at Some Odd Girl! This month it's Scorpio! You can just see the attitude in her!! 

I had to be creative as my cat, Alyssa, stole her from my craft table and made the marker run that I outlined her with. I think she turned out fun on this very CAS card!!

Hello Beautiful

A little butterfly and foil card today! This time the frame around the sentiment is foiled. Again I used an older Raindrop Echo Designs digi for the foiled part.

I think this is one of my favorite foiled cards that I've made so far but it is probably because of the butterflies.

Each day comes bearing gifts...

I've been fascinated with foiling for quite some time but always thought it looked too complicated so I never tried it. I finally decided it was time and a week ago I went and got a laminator, some foil and set out to learn how to do it.

I already had a laser printer for printing my digi stamps so I am using the foil that reacts with the toner and heat. It took me several attempts but I figured it out and love the pretty effect it has. I'm excited to be able to add this as an option now to my cards. I can't wait to expand the colors of foil and foil products to my collection.

Here's the first card I made. I used an older, retired Raindrop Echo Designs sentiment from Whimsy Stamps and some gold foil. The sentiment says: Each day comes bearing it's own gifts. Untie the ribbons. Ruth Ann Schabacker.

I think this turned out so pretty and elegant!!

Sending you sunshine!

I made a card not too long ago with this adorable stamp, Apple Blossom, but truthfully I just didn't like the coloring job I did so I thought I'd give it another go. Happily I like how this time around turned out! :) I did find it interesting that I almost chose similar "tree" paper this time as I used last time, but in the end it didn't work with this version. 

I also used a sentiment from The Good Life Tickets set and the Ticket Die.

Have a super wonderful day! I'm excited because today my new laptop arrives. I know it will be a huge learning curve but hopefully I can figure it out quickly.

I just adore this stamp from Whimsy Stamps!! It's Pumpkin Princess Penny by Elisabeth Bell. So super darling, don't you think?

I also used the Friendship Ticket Sentiment stamp set and the Ticket die from Whimsy Stamps.

I have been challenging myself to use different colors than my go to favorite color of pink. I have to say I really like how this turned out!!

You Rock!

A friend of mine was asking for cards and letters to help encourage a 6 year old boy who was being bullied for being a "nerd". This made me so sad that they are starting so young with the bullying so of course, I had to send a little something. 

I made this card using the Smarty Pants stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie and then used part of the sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps sentiment set, The Fun Life Tickets.

I just hope it brings a smile to his face and hopefully he'll realize how wonderful it is to be a nerd and that the other kids are just jealous!

Bookish

I'm back again today with another card using the same March 2011 Key Ingredients Kit. I've done 5+ cards using it already and there's still lots left! I'm having fun though. I stopped today as I was finishing up this card and realized I was smiling and giggling. It is a feeling I can't describe--the feeling I get when I create. I just love seeing it all come to life and go together. Especially cards like this one that I really, really, really sort of LOVE!

I used the fabulous Bookish stamp on this card which is from Whimsy Stamps--Time For Tea Designs collection. I'm really smitten with these stamps! I also used the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps-Raindrop Echo Designs- Friendship Ticket Sentiments. 

She has glossy accents on her glasses so that's why you see a little glare in the photo. :)
