You-nique

I guess it's pretty obvious when my days off are as it seems lately those are the only days I post, LOL! Sam is back to work as of Monday though so I'm hoping to get back into a routine of crafting in the evenings, but we'll see.

Dawn's Fairy

Today the SCACD DT are all having a little SCACD fun on our blogs. Take a few minutes to visit everyone--links on my sidebar--to see what inspirational creations they have as I know they'll be fabulous!!

SCACD is has several new products in the store too!! Happy Shopping!!
Today I'm sharing a card I made using one of the newest releases from SCACD, Dawn's Fairy from Susana Loves Stamps. I stamped the gorgeous fairy in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then masked her and tried to sponge on ink to mimic the dawn's early light that she's named after-although maybe it looks more like a sunset-I tried. Then I colored her with copics.

I used SEI Sunny Day paper, which is an older 6x6 paper pad but remember that SCACD carries tons of awesome paper pads-HERE--so check them out!

I kept thinking the card needed more "stuff" but in the end I kept it super simple so that the image could really stand out since it was so vibrant. I did add some stickles to her wings--gotta have sparkle!

Have a super fabulous day and why not take some time to head on over to SCACD and go shopping!

Altered Clipboard

Years ago a friend altered a clipboard for me as a gift and it is still one of my favorite things so I thought I’d try my hand at altering one. I found these cute little clipboards at Walmart so thought I’d try a little one first.

I really sat down without a plan and just let the creative process flow. I started with my designer papers- Bazzill Timeless. I happen to have an extra package of this fab paper so I will pick one commenter on this post to send it to!

I just cut the paper into strips/sections and then used mod podge to adhere it. Next I sanded the edges just a touch and waited for it to dry. I then brushed on Luminarte Silks in Honey Amber and Solar Gold. Once that was dried I stamped Unique from the Authentic Words Set from Susana Loves Stamps in Archival Jet Black ink several times.

I wanted an image on this so I decided that Steampunk Eyes from Susana Loves Stamps would be perfect. I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her with copics and cut her out. I added touches of sparkle with a stardust pen. After I cut her out I noticed she just sort of disappeared into the design of the paper so I took some more Luminarte Silks in Vavoom Red and painted an area for her to be placed on so she’d stand out.

I adhered her with The Best Glue Ever and then added some diamond glaze to her goggles. To finish the clipboard I added some ribbons and fibers to the top.

I made this for a very special friend so I hope she likes it.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great one!

Arctic Princess

I couldn’t wait to ink up the newly released Arctic Princess from Susana Loves Stamps.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her with my copics. I added some touches of sparkle with a stardust pen and stickles. I used several embossing folders for the layers (SCACD has an awesome selection of embossing folders-be sure to check them out-HERE!). To finish things I added a flourish made from a Memory Box die and a flower.

Have a wonderful day!

SCACD Release Day Hop!

This is SCACD's last 2 stamp releases of the year! We're bringing you cuteness from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD with 4 new adorable stamps in the Sampler #8 Collection. We also have Susana Loves Stamps new collection- Mythical Reflections which brings you 4 more mythical stamps to help inspire you and help you create!  Be sure to check out all the details on the SCACD store blog and hop along with the SCACD DT as we showcase these amazing new stamps!
I’m the first stop on your hop but remember that if there are any hiccups along the way, you can find the full hop list on the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart.
The first stamp I’d like to introduce to you is Hannah from Susana Loves Stamps.  She has such an elegance to her, just so pretty!

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. For my designer paper I used Basic Grey Lucille. For some sparkle I used glamour dust on her wings and touches of copic glitter pens. To finish the card I added some Kaisercraft pearls.

The next stamp I’m introducing is one I just melted when I saw, and even more so when I heard the name, Butterfly Kisses by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD! So darling!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. I also paper pieced her dress as it was screaming to be pieced. I used an older Kaisercraft paper pad-Sweet Nothings (which is no longer in stock at SCACD but never fear, there’s tons of other great paper there so take a peek after you put the new stamps in your cart). I added stickles and some Kaisercraft pearls along with touches of liquid pearls to finish the card.

All the stamps are available at SCACD now and for our International Friends, they are available at Quixotic Paperie!
Now you should hop on to Elaine’s blog! Happy Hopping and Shopping!

I am the beginning of the hop but remember if you get lost along the way you can find the complete hop list on the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart.

Normally I’m not much of a spooky kind of gal but I had fun “stepping outside my cute zone” for this hop. I based my card on the spooky feeling you get when something is lurking in the dark but you just don’t know what it is. I made my tent card using these directions and using Carta Bella All Hallow’s Eve designer paper.
I used the Fancy Flowers & Key Corners Die in black to accent the corners. Funny how such a pretty die in other colors, can turn slightly spooky when in black and with spookier paper. I added lots of punched twigs to the bottom of the card.
To finish the card I added Monster Success who was colored with copics and cut out. I took cues from my son on how to make him spooky--he said red eyes definitely and yellow teeth. LOL! I was pleased with my spooky creation, what do you think?

Your next stop on the hop is Elaine! Enjoy your time on the hop and don’t forget to enter for the blog candy!

FBW #210

Did I blink and miss a few days? How is it Wednesday again already? LOL! Guess that means it’s time for another Flutter By Wednesday Challenge! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and to see the awesome Flutter By Team creations!
This week we are sponsored by Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design-SCACD! You all know I have a soft spot in my heart for SCACD so I was excited for this week!
Our challenge this week--and this week only!!!--is any winged creature! That should make many of you happy who are always asking for me to allow other things besides butterflies and fairies! I hope you’ll all join us this week!!

I chose Vintage Eyes from Susana Loves Stamps for my image this week. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with copics. I’m still in the autumn mood so I paired her with Farm House Sugar Hill papers. I added some touches of sparkle with copic glitter pens and stickles and then added some butterflies to finish the card.

Have a happy, fluttery kind of day!!

Courageous Eyes

I haven’t had much mojo lately but I’m really trying to correct that and get back in the swing of creating more often as creating makes me happy and when I’m not creating, well, I’m not all that happy!!

Today I decided to ink up the newly released, Courageous Eyes by Susana Loves Stamps. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with my copics. I added some sparkly accents with my copic glitter pens and stardust pen.
My papers are from Memory Box-Minuet. (I don’t see them at SCACD anymore but never fear, there are LOTS of paper to choose from! Check it out-HERE!).

I decorated the inside with some of the paper and the sentiment (To dream is to have wings) that comes with Courageous Eyes.

Have a wonderful day!!

Susana Loves Stamps Release Day Hop!

It’s time for another fabulous release from SCACD!
SCACD is thrilled to bring you the follow up to the super sweet Eyes of Beauty and Dreams Collection with Newest Eyes of Adventure and Fables Collections. We definitely think the Eyes have it!!! These eyes just capture your heart and even better each stamp comes with an accessory image!!!
I’m the beginning of the hop but if you get lost along the way or find any hiccups, hop on over to the store blog, Follow Your Heart, for a complete blog hop list!
The first stamp I’m introducing to you What Big Eyes You Have…! Isn’t she gorgeous! I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. I did a bit of paper piecing to her cape with Basic Grey Picadilly papers.

After I colored her I cut her out and put together the card. For a few accents I added some Kaisercraft rhinestones and stickles. I used the sentiment that comes with her on the inside….because we all like happy endings!

The next stamp I’m introducing today is Adventure Eyes! I just love her! She looks like she’s ready to take on anything that comes her way! I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. I added some sparkle with copic glitter pens and a stardust pen. For the skull in her braid I used Smooch Illuminate on it.

My papers are older 7 Gypsies Avignon, which I don’t see at SCACD now but there’s tons to choose from HERE). I used one of the newest released Dies by SCACD- Ornate Hinge-isn’t it fabulous!! I distressed all the edges of the paper for a more worn look. I added a few touches of Gold Pearl Liquid Pearls to the hinges.

On the inside I used the map that comes with Adventure Eyes and made some doodles with my copic multi-liner .03 to decorate it a bit.

These stamps are available now at SCACD and for our International friends, Quixotic Paperie!
Now it’s time for you to hop on over to the talented Lori’s blog!
Happy Hopping and Happy Shopping!!

The Pink Elephant #166

It’s time for another challenge at The Pink Elephant! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and also to see all the other DT member’s fabulous creations!
This week our challenge is Monochromatic. I’m not going to lie…I usually avoid these challenges at all cost. For some reason they freak me out! LOL! But I thought I would try this week, after all, that is what makes it a challenge, right?

I kept my card very simple (easier for me to get the monochromatic part that way) by using Wispy Dreams from Susana Loves Stamps. I always feel like I’m cheating when I don’t color an image..hehe! To finish I added some sparkle with Viva Decor Glitter Liner around the oval and some rhinestones. Whew…I did it!! LOL!

Hope you’ll join us this week at the Pink Elephant Challenge!

Lovin’ this new die!

Oh my! I knew I would love the new Dies by SCACD but I really, really am LOVING them! Today I decided to play with the new Sun and Moon Statement Corner. I love that it’s bigger than the normal corner die and such fun details in it!
I started by cutting out one of the corners in an orange-ish color cardstock. Next I painted some Luminarte Honey Amber Silk onto it and let it dry. Once it was dry I added touches of Luminarte Solar Gold Silk to create some interest.

For the background of the card I used a Crafter’s Workshop Template- Mini Star Shower, and used the same Luminarte Silk colors as I used on the Sun and Moon Statement Corner.

I thought these were the perfect elements for Sunny Eyes from Susana Loves Stamps to go with so I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics and then cut her out.
To finish the card I added some stickles and a few touches of Smooch Illuminate.

This card was so much fun to create! I can’t wait to play with more of the new Dies by SCACD!!

copic colors- E000, E00, E21, R30, R20, E35, YR20, Y20, B05, B02, YR04, YR07, YR09, YR18, R05, R08, Y17,

Monster Bash

I have the hardest time making cards for Matthew since he’s not really into sports and he’s not a little guy anymore--where did my baby go? So when I sat down to make his birthday card this year I was excited to have the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Sets from Susana Loves Stamps!
I thought Monster Bash was the perfect choice for an 11 year old boy’s birthday! well, anyone’s birthday really because how fun is this stamp!!

I stamped Monster Bash in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with my copics. I paired the image with My Mind’s Eye-Lime Twist- Fly a Kite papers. I was going to add some stars made by my Cricut but Matthew kept coming by so I opted to add some buttons and call it good! It’s hard to create a card for a boy who is always peeking in my room!

To finish the card I just stamped Monster Bash on the inside of the card along with the sentiment.

I also am SO EXCITED to announce that Susana has released 8 more Dies by SCACD!! These are just so gorgeous and must have’s!!! Here’s a few of them but be sure to check them all out and add them to your shopping cart!!

Little Stargazer

This fun little stamp was calling out to me today so I just had to use her!  She is Little Stargazer from Susana Loves Stamps. So fun!!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with my copics then cut her out. For the background behind her I used my new Unity Christy Tomlinson Distressed Criss-Cross stamp--I LOVE that SCACD is carrying Unity stamps now..be sure to check them out! So, so fun with so many possibilities!!

For my designer paper I used My Mind’s Eye-Fine and Dandy- Tickled Pink. The corners are made from my Dies by SCACD. These ones are Garden Corners.

So funny as this card is totally different than I envisioned it to be when I sat down to make it, LOL! does that happen to you?
Have a great day!

The Pink Elephant #159

Can you believe it’s Monday again!! I think someone put a super warp speed on time lately as it’s just flying by! Anyhoo, it’s time for another challenge over at The Pink Elephant! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and to see all the other DT creations!!
This week we have an awesome sketch~

For my image I used the recently released Monster Mash by Susana Loves Stamps.  This cutie just makes me smile! I colored her with my copics and then cut her out using my nestabilities. I masked the image and sponged on some ink while it was still in the nestabilites die.

My paper is My Mind’s Eye- Indie Chic- Saffron, which is 25% off right now at SCACD! I added buttons threaded with scrappers floss and some stickles and the sentiment (that comes with Monster Mash) to finish the card--just pretend it’s straight as I was lazy and didn’t use my stamp-a-ma-jig--that’ll teach me.

Hope to see you play along with The Pink Elephant Challenge this week!

Little Lily

I’ll admit it. I squealed with delight when I saw this week’s challenge at Dutch Dare Card Challenges-- Flutterby Butterfly!! I have been missing Flutter By Wednesday’s so I knew I had to play along!
I stamped one of the new Susana Loves Stamps- Little Sassy Crew, Little Lily in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with my copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin markers. I cut her out and paired her with My Mind’s Eye-Miss Caroline-Dolled Up papers.

I cut the oval out using my nestabilities and then embossed it with my Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder.  I used several dies including Memory Box Moonlight Butterfly and Kaleidoscope Butterfly and Dies by SCACD- Garden Corners.

As I was finishing the card I noticed that the oval with the embossing sort of blended into everything so I added a bit of sparkle to it using Luminarte Silk Glaze in Ice. The final touches were some Kaisercraft pearls, stardust pen touches and finishing the inside.

For my layout I used this week’s sketch from The Sweet Stop~

Hope that all my friends in the USA have a safe and happy 4th of July!
