Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #38

The challenge this week at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps is a sketch  so I knew I had to join in!!

I decided to use my Lantern Rin since she hasn't been inked up yet! I altered the sketch a bit as I just didn't like my sentiment where it was shown on the sketch. I might have gotten a tad sparkle happy on the lantern..nah, you can never have too much sparkle, right?

The little details~ Lantern Rin, Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, DCWV Cafe Mediterranean Stack, Martha Stewart punches, TAC Sophisticated Sentiments, Palette Beaux Arts Blue ink, flowers, stickles, Creative Inspirations Paint,

Crazy 4 Challenges is going in circles!

This week's Crazy 4 Challenges theme is circles! How fun and easy is that?

I really wanted to ink up the Carmin Medlin for SCACD stamp, First Signs of Fall, so I thought this would be the perfect time. Even though it's called the First Signs of Fall, I decided to make it more of a wintery/holiday card.

I used the very pretty Memory Box Spiceberry papers and since one of them had little polka dots I paper pieced the coat with that. To help the details stand out more on the paper pieced coat, I went over them with my Copic multi-liner. For her dress I used my fav Creative Inspirations Paint in Autumn Wheat so it would have some shimmer.

I added some of my fun new flowers from Petaloo~ Mixed Rose Leaves and Velvet Poinsettias. My doodles around the image are done with a gold copic glitter pen. To finish the card I just added some gold pearls from my stash.

A bit of Whimsy...

Have you visited Whimsy Stamps this week? No? well my goodness, you need to! Lots of fun new stuff released....new Christmas rubber stamps, new digis, new Meljen's Designs on pre-order in rubber...wow...be sure you check it all out!!

I thought I'd use a few of the new digi's for you today.

First off we have an image from this past Thursday's Meljen's Designs digi release, this image is called Country Star Pumpkin. So many fun autumn and Halloween images to choose from and I am *pretty sure* more are on the way!

supplies:
Next I used the new digi from Crissy Armstrong, Anna's Halloween. This digi is special as it was named and drawn for blogging friend, Mary's granddaughter! Check out her amazing card using this sweet image, HERE!

Here's what I came up with~I also used the new digi Halloween Ticket Sentiments on this card. I had fun crinkling up the ticket and then adding touches of Old Paper Distress Ink to it.

I really didn't know what paper to use with the image but then Kristie and I challenged each other to use some of our Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kits so I pulled out the first one I ever got, Morning Meadow and used the paper/ribbons from it.

I wanted to do something around the edge of the image but didn't know what until I got my latest TAC (The Angel Company) order in the mail. I inked up my new Basic Blooms and went around the image with one of those stamps, love how it turned out!

FBW #124 Sparkle and Shimmer

I am finally getting to my Flutter By Challenge for the week--I feel like I'm soooo behind...LOL!

The challenge this week was sparkle and shimmer--a challenge I love! I rarely use angels for my challenge so I thought it would be fun to use the newly released Angel of Hope from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD

I stamped her wings twice and then popped part of the second set up on pop dots for some dimension.

I used Autumn Wheat Creative Inspirations paint in her hair so it would shimmer and stickles on her wings and the flowers.

Freebie Spesch Designer Stamps Genie!

Have you visited the Spesch Designer Stamps blog lately? No? Then you're missing out on the freebie that Tracey posted!! Better head on over there before it's gone!

What a fun image...this genie or Djinn (whatever you want to call her) looks so lost in thought to me...wonder what she's thinking about??

I used my Creative Inspirations Paint for alot of this image as it seemed to need that sheer, shimmer look. I sort of messed up one part too so to fix it I added sparkle..lots of sparkle. Hehe!

Creative Inspirations Paint features me!!

I honestly am just so, so honored to be featured today on the Creative Inspirations Paint Blog! If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know how much I just {heart} these fabulous little jars of shimmer!!

You can find previous creations and such that I've used Creative Inspirations Paint on HERE. And I love to buy my Creative Inspirations Paints HERE!

Here's a new creation using these wonderful shimmery paints~ I used one of the images from the latest release of Victoria Case for SCACD, The Aurora 2 Collection. This is Sprite, Aurora's little sister,  and you can only get her when you purchase the entire release...she is just the cutest lil' thing!!

I used this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop for my layout.

I used Blue Ice Creative Inspiration Paint on her hat and dress, Tutu Pink Creative Inspiration Paint on the underskirt of her dress and also the butterflies, and finally to finish I added touches of Fairy Dust Creative Inspiration Paint to sections of her hair.

You can really see the shimmer in this photo! Again, I totally {heart} Creative Inspirations Paint!

Nuts for you--The Sequel

Have you ordered your new Victoria Case for SCACD Aurora 2 Collection? No? You need to run over and order it!! These images are just way too cute to pass up!

I couldn't wait to ink up another one of these cuties! I chose, Nuts For You- The Sequel. Oh so adorable!!

I first made a mask of the image and then used my stencil for the clouds and grass. As I was assembling my card (I always do sparkle last), I thought I'd try something I hadn't tried before, hehe! I painted my Prima flowers with Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations Paint. I don't know why I didn't try this before! It looks oh so pretty! I'm telling ya, those Creative Inspiration Paints are truly my favorite!!

For my sparkle/shimmer on sweet Aurora I used Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations Paint on her hat, shoes and skirt. To finish off the card I added a touch of stickles to the butterfly and the center of the flowers on Aurora.

Cupcake Inspirations #67

Another challenge that I've always bookmarked but never played along with is the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. Always the yummiest looking cupcakes to gather your inspiration off of...yummy!

This week I loved the cupcakes~

Seriously, how totally cute are those? and those of you who have been reading me for a while know I have a new "thing" for mermaids! I had to join in on this fun challenge!

I just got my Sweet November mermaids so I had to ink up one of those!! I thought that Fathom Calmsea would work well since she had so many stars on her to go along with the starfish on the cupcakes. And Lio is just too cute!

Lately I've been coloring the water with my copics on my mermaid cards but I thought I'd try sponging it today to see how it looked. It was so much fun to play around with the different colors of sponging!

For some "extras" I added a few bubbles with my Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Gel Pen, some sparkle with my stardust pen and also some sparkle to Lio with my Viva Decor Peridot Green Glitter Liner. For the stars I used my Viva Decor Holographic Glitter Liner. For her tail I used Creative Inspirations Paint in  Autumn Wheat.

Calliope

Today I just had to get my new Kraftin' Kimmie mermaids inky! I was over the moon when Susana got them in! They are such fun images, you know you want them!!

I couldn't decide which one to ink up first but then decided on Calliope as she looks like she's just having so much fun! And of course a fun mermaid needs to make the others a tad jealous so Calliope is a bit colorful and sparkly!

I used a stardust pen on her hair, Creative Inspiration Paint in Amethyst on her eight-legged friend, Viva Decor Glitter Liner on her tail and then added some bubbles with Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Gel.

Finally to finish the card I stamped the cute little starfish that come with Calliope and cut them out as accents. They have touches of stickles on them.

Flutter By Wednesday #112 Hop

I'm SO excited that we're back on track with Flutter By Wednesday!! Next time I will know to only take a 2 week break as I have missed my flutterings so much!!

You should have arrived here from our special guest designer for July, Michelle VP's blog. If not, flutter to the beginning of the hop with talented Harriet. Be sure to leave some love for all the Flutter By Team on the hop as you never know when there might be a surprise for a special person!!

I'm your last stop on the hop so after you're done here...go create something fluttery!! Just remember it has to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on it to qualify for Flutter By Wednesday!

Onto my creation for today~~ I used a cutie patootie fairy from Victoria Case Art Designs. This cutie is called Caterpillar Hugs.

I thought that Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch this week, SSSC76 was the perfect sketch for this image!

After putting my card together, I , of course, had to add some sparkle and shimmer! I added stickles to her wings and Creative Inspiration paint to her shirt. I used my stardust pen on the flowers and then used my Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Pen on the berries.

Try It Out with a "T" #75

***Please be sure to scroll down and see my sneak peek for PMS!!****

Today's challenge is Crazy Quilts! Patchwork Quilts and Faux Sewing! Create a patchwork background on your cards with real or faux sewing stitches.

Be sure to check Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see how you can play along and also to see the other design team members creations. Don't forget to check it on Thursday as well to see the rest of the teams creations!

I have to admit, I wasn't too sure of what patchwork was so I got some great inspiration in the SCS gallery, I really liked these cards~ Retirement Quilt, Apples and Patchwork, Viva La Verve You Can Do It, Patched Top Note, Patchwork Family and so many more!

Here's my attempt at it~~ I started by taking my scraps of designer paper and punching them into 1 1/4 squares, then I adhered them to my black cardstock and then cut out a top note from that. I was pleased when it worked, LOL!

I wanted an image that I could cut out and place on the "patchwork" so I looked through my stamps and decided to use Oh Baby, from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, Sampler #3.

To make her stand out a bit more I put a white nestabilities die cut behind her. I did some faux sewing around the patchwork. Of course I had to have some sparkle and shimmer so I added some Sky Blue Creative Inspiration Paint to her dress, and some stickles to her flowers on her headband.

I was going to add some "more" to the card, maybe flowers or pearls or such but then decided I really liked it simple showing off that sweet baby so I left it as is.

Star Bugg

Just an easy peasy quick card! I might have got a tad carried away with the sparkle but really, can you ever have too much sparkle?

Sweet November Pearl Tidepool

I've mentioned I've really been drawn to mermaids lately so when I saw these mermaids at C.C. Designs, I had to have them.

Amy, the artist behind these beauties and all the Sweet November stamps, is just so talented! She amazes me every time I visit her blog!!

When looking at challenges, I found that this week at Die Cut Dreams Challenge the theme is Life's a beach, so I think this will work for that!

For the clear "bubbles" I used my Viva Decor Transparent Gloss Pen. For the pearls I used my Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen. For the additional "baubles" I used my Viva Decor Emerald Green Gloss Pen. Gotta love Viva Decor!!

For her tail and top, I used my favorite, Creative Inspirations Paint in Sky Blue. I also added a touch of stardust pen to her hair. As one final touch I added Ocean Soul Smooch to her shell on her belt.

At first I thought this was going to be a very simple card and wasn't sure how I'd like it but once I got it done, I really {heart} it. Amazing what a few "extra" touches can do!

I also wanted to give a big welcome to all the new girls on the PMS DT!! You can see who they are on the PMS blog!! Looking forward to working with you all!!

Bird Fairy

I haven't had a chance to ink up my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps (yup, Susana carries them!! so awesome!) much lately so I decided to remedy that and ink up Bird Fairy.
My inspiration for coloring this wonderful fairy came from the artist herself, Crissy Armstrong, here is her blog post with this fairy--isn't that gorgeous?? wow!
I know my coloring isn't as fabulous as hers but it was fun to try the "dots" for the background.
I used my chocolate copic glitter pen on the braids in her hair. For the "pearls" on the scalloped piece--which comes that way in the paper pack, totally cool--I used my Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen. For her ribbons I used my fav Creative Inspirations Paint in Blue Ice. For some final sparkle, as we know I love sparkle, I used the gorgeous Viva Decor Holographic Glitter Liner on the veins in her wings.
I must say that I love how this card came out and it really renewed my passion for stamping/card making!! Don't ya love it when that happens?

Be sure to check out Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see how you can play along and also to see the other wonderful creations from the design team!

The sketch~
Doesn't Suzanne come up with some fun sketches?? I thought this one was so elegant feeling!!

Here's what I came up with~ I added a few elements but the sketch was a great starting point! I love using the Viva Decor Pens to create my own baubles, so fun! and isn't this image to die for? it's from the latest Elisabeth Bell for SCACD release-- Sampler Edition #4.

Try It Out Tuesday #66

Today's challenge is called Old Time Photo. All colors including those you color your image with must be browns, sepias, creams and black.

Be sure to check out Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see how you can play along and also to see the other fabulous creations by the design team!

I tried to follow along but umm, yeah, this is so not me.I just love color! I just hated my attempt at this so instead of getting frustrated, I just decided to create a card to share and maybe try again another time. I can't wait to see what the rest of the team created as I know they'll be amazing!

I decided to use one of the new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler #4 images, All Grown Up. She is just too cute playing dress up! Of course I had to make it a bit fun and have nothing match...hehehe!
