Forgotten Stamp Friday #19

Playing along with another challenge..yes, I am definitely in a challenge state of mind this week! LOL!

I've been wanting to play along with Jessica Rone's Forgotten Friday's for a while now but as always, too many challenges, not enough time. But this is one I really want to start playing along with more often as it is really one that hits home with me! Jessica challenges you to use a stamp you've had unused or not used often for over 6 months. Boy do I have tons that fall in this category!!

So this week, I decided I *had* to play along so here's my card for Forgotten Stamp Friday #19. I decided to use one of my Sarah Kay stamps that I just had to have for my birthday...2 years ago..sigh...and sadly most of them haven't been inked. Just so sad. LOL!

I used some different colors than my norm, not sure I like this card or not but regardless I used a stamp that hasn't been inked and I used some paper from my stash so I'm happy. Adding this to my Operation Write Home pile..which is why it's not full of embellishments--so it's more "mail-able".

The little details~ Best Friends Forever, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, copics, paper from my older than the hills stash, SU border punch, TAC English Everyday Cuties,

I went through my images that I already had colored and found this Sarah Kay image and thought it would be perfect for "love". And then I saw Stella ( I think she's a fairy, isn't she?) already colored too so I thought, why not! So for once, I have not one but two cards for you today!!
Am I forgiven for not having a card last week?

Challenge overload and a memory filled day

Anyone ever feel like they are just on challenge overload? There are so many awesome challenges out there that I always want to try but then I try to pick which one to do and my head swims so I don't do any. It is good that there are so many though, makes it more fun.

While deciding what to do for today's post I thought about the date, September 18. That day is so special to me. It was my Great Grandmother Vada's birthday. I always remember the year I turned 8 she turned 80. So fun. She was such an important part of my life and I miss her so much. I wish my kids had a chance to know her. Well, anyway, happy birthday Grandma, hope the heavens are celebrating you today.

I decided to look through my pile of images that are already colored to create with today. I have quite the pile of them so I'd like to get to using them!!

I chose this cute Sarah Kay Country Girl as she reminded me of my grandma with the chickens. Grandma always had chickens and rabbits.

supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Country Girl,
paper: some from my stash, SU cardstock,
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,
others: prismacolors, OMS, copic glitter pens, Curved rectangles nestabilities, corner punch, CM fine tip markers, Prima Daisy Crazy Destiny, cappuccino bella baubles,

Another image I received through a RAK. This one is Precious Moments by Sarah Kay. I colored her one day at Jennifer's. Must say I do like having a little stash of colored images to go to when I am in the mood to create but not much time.
I browsed the SCS galleries for inspiration and came across this card from Kim and used it as my inspiration piece.

Rose's Garden

I received this image as a RAK. Isn't it just the sweetest? I just adore Sarah Kay stamps although sometimes I feel intimidated when I start to color them. Regardless, I love them and really should save up and get a few more of them as I only actually own one.

The colors came out sort of odd in the photo but they really do go together in real life and are more yellow than orange and the flower is a pink, not as dark as in the photo though.

supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from RAK
paper: some from my scraps,
ink: VersaMagic Pink Petunia
others: prismacolors, OMS, CM cutting system, prima flowers, brads,

Twinkling Tuesday #16

For this week we have Rebecca's son, Jameson as our temp. twinkie! He gave us an inspiration photo and a story!! He's 8 and in grade 2! I'm so impressed with these kiddos and what they come up with. Soon I'll have to get mine in on the fun!!
Here's the inspiration photo~
And here's the story:
Mickey is a Park Ranger working in the national forest. One day on his patrols, he hears a cry for help. He sees a beautiful girl mouse with tears on her face because she has fallen while hiking and broken her leg. The gallant Mickey comes to the rescue of the lovely Minnie, administers first aid, drives her to the hospital, waits for her to be treated and drives her home. They fall in love and the rest is history. However, a few months later, when Mickey goes to pick up his tuxedo on the morning of their wedding day, they have accidentally rented out all of the mouse-sized tuxes! So Mickey shows up anyway in his Ranger uniform. Minnie starts up the aisle and is surprised to see Mickey wearing his uniform but she doesn’t care because that is how he looked when she fell in love with him!

I struggled with this one. All I could think of was a beautiful love story and sadly, I have no stamps of my own that are of a couple. So I resorted to my image box and luckily there I found many possibilities. I chose this Sarah Kay image as I thought it was just perfect to decpict a love story starting....and one where appearance wouldn't matter one bit.
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from RAK,
paper: Basic Grey Bittersweet,
ink: Palette Burnt Umber,
others: prismacolors, OMS, Fiskars Border punch, Glitter Heirloom Hearts,

Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday #11

( Read here to see why this post is late)
Madelynn threw me for a loop this week! Instead of a sketch, we have an inspiration challenge!!
Hope you can play along! Just leave a comment on Madelynn's blog with a link to your creation or if you upload to SCS or PCP, use the keyword MTTSC11.
Here's the inspiration for the week~
The main thing that struck me from this delicious looking mug, was the big bow and the colors so that's what I tried to use on my card. I used this cute Sarah Kay image I received as a RAK as it has such a big bow on the back of her dress. I used a sketch by Sarah that was to be for a bella but I thought it would work well for this image too.

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
stamps: image from a RAK,
paper: Wild Asparagus stack,
ink:
others: prismacolors, OMS, CTMH ribbon-discontinued, oyster bella baubles,

If you upload your creation to either SCS or PCP, please use the keyword MTTSC6.

Here's this week's sketch:

Look at all those layers!! I just recently got my first Sarah Kay stamp (before I started the stamp to get stamps, hehehe) so I decided it was time to ink her up.

A sweet cuddle

I had an idea for this card hit me today and it just wouldn't go away so I did what any stamper would do, I neglected some chores so I could sit down and create it!
I used an image that I received from SCS Wish RAK, Sarah Kay's Fanny's Cuddle. I just love this image. Who doesn't love cuddling a sweet puppy? Unless that puppy's name is Freckles and she scratched and bit at the wall today making a hole. Sam's going to be thrilled, or not.
I used the TAC Mimi paper for this (yes, the one I'm giving away in my blog candy! ) It is such pretty paper!

(the color went funky on this photo, you get the idea though)
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from someone else , TAC retired GWP and TAC Flourishes--on inside
paper: TAC Mimi
ink: Palette Boudoir Blush, VersaMagic AloeVera
others: prismacolors, OMS, stardust pens, Heidi Swapp edge distresser, hand crocheted flowers from my friend,
Denise (thank you again, I LOVE these), White Scrappers Floss, buttons, CM cutting system

Sarah Kay Fanny's Cuddle

I couldn't wait to color in this Sarah Kay image that Ann sent me! She is just the sweetest looking little girl!

I used a SCS sketch, SC121. Colored the image with prismacolors and OMS. Paper is Basic Grey Euphoria and the sentiment is from a retired TAC set, Dear Friends. Thought it needed something else so I added the primas.

I'm going to have to get this stamp....so darn cute!!
