Mandi

I don't know about you but sometimes I think it's good to try something new, something different! So that's what I did! LOL!

I Brake for Stamps has Rick St. Dennis digis and rubber stamps in stock now and while at first I wasn't quite sure about them, they have quickly grown on me!  Not all of them~ as some are pretty scary to me--great for Halloween and for lots of my friends who like that--but I do think the girls are fun and sort of funky! (oh and I just saw some cute bears and kids and fantasy stamps in the rubber section...fun!)

So I thought what the heck, let's give one of them a try and see what I can do with them! I got Mandi as a digi to try. I think she is really a pretty funky gal--so fun to color up!

I kept this a very clean and simple card to show off the image~~didn't want anything competing with the brighter colors I used.

Hope you have a super fabulous day!!From Millan.Net
If all else fails-add pink, sparkle and a butterfly!

Butterfly and Berries Collage

Susana recently got in some gorgeous collage stamps from I Brake For Stamps. They are such gorgeous stamps but I'm not going to lie, they intimidate me. I know they shouldn't but they do.

Figure there's no way to get over that intimidation except by diving in and trying one out. Of course I had to have the Butterfly and Berries Collage. If I conquer it then I'm definitely ordering the Butterfly Collage set of 3 stamps.

I stamped my image with VersaFine Onyx Black and then let my image sit for a few days. Next I colored it with copics...I know I didn't color it exactly perfect but not too shabby for a first attempt.

It just seemed to cry for something more so I tried the cracked glass technique on it. (You can find a tutorial on it-here). I've tried this technique in the past and been unhappy with the results but I liked how this turned out. I wiped some brown ink over it when I was done with the embossing to try and emphasize the cracks more.
I had a hard time photographing this card, so even though you can't see the "cracked glass" it really is there, promise! You can sort of see the cracks in the first photo.

A Thank You Blog Hop

Today's blog hop is a very special shout-out and thank you to Della of I Brake For Stamps, who is a huge behind the scenes helper for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design~~ she makes all the stamps!!!

All of Susana's design team's blogs feature a different project featuring a stamp from Della's store, so make sure you start at Suzanne's blog , if you came here first and follow the hop all the way through to the end. For one lucky Hopper there will be a prize, but you have to leave a comment on every blog in order for a chance to win. When you're done with my blog, hop on over to Jennifer's blog to continue on your way! You will end at Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart.

The lucky winner will be picked randomly from comments left on one of the design team members blog---but it's a mystery which blog it will be! There's also a question on the store blog, Follow Your Heart, that needs to be answered. The prize up for grabs is a brand new Ranger Heat Gun-it heats quickly and does NOT blow your embossing powder around--it's fantastic!!

Della at I Brake For Stamps is generously offering this Coupon code for Her Store ONLY!!!
coupon code: BLOGHOP for 15% off all purchases
Expires the 16th.
Only 4 days to use it so whatcha waiting for!!!

Are you ready to flutter by?? I'm ready!! I am just so very happy to see so many people playing along with the Flutter By Wednesday challenge!! I just love looking at all the awesome creations!!

This week brings some fun changes to Flutter By Wednesday's. We have featured all our team members so I thought it would be fun to get them more involved now.

Each week, except the weeks with guest designers, one team member will choose the challenge for the week. How fun is that?

Our first team member challenge is by team member Kimmie! Her challenge was called Spring Fever since we're all ready to get outside and enjoy the weather. Just create an outdoorsy card with a butterfly or fairy. I'd love to see your creations! Leave a direct link to your creation in Mister Linky, (I reserve the right to remove any links not appropriate or linked to blogs vs. entries.) If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use the keyword, FBW. Can't wait to see all those fluttering cards!!

Be sure to visit all my Flutter By Team blogs and see their awesome creations! Their links are all on my sidebar and you won't be disappointed!! I feel very fortunate to have such a great team with such talent!

Finally, onto my card. Yes, I have a card this week. So sorry again that last week I didn't have one. I was inspired by numerous things for this card. One of which was team member, Cassie's, cards. She always does such elegant cards so the front in inspired by her.

Femme Fluer

I've admired this stamp at Susana's store for quite a while. It is just so beautiful. Finally I had to break down and get it. I noticed she's out of stock of it right this second but I'm sure more are on their way.

I'll admit it, I was very skeptical about the shimmerz spritz but after using it on this image, I'm sold. I love how easy it is, not huge globs, dries fast and it really makes it so pretty. Yup, I'll be ordering more colors soon!!

stamps: Femme Fluer,
paper: Laura Ashley Traditional
ink: VersaFine Onyx Black,

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #10

3 Clovers Thursday Challenge #10 is "It's a zoo around here"~ animal images. That sounded like a lot of fun so I had to create a little somethin' for it!
As much as I love animals, and zoos (did you know I want to be a zookeeper when I grow up?) it was so hard to pick what image to use! LOL! I finally settled on this cute shy bear that I haven't inked up yet!
Wish I could look so cute with curlers in my hair! I paper pieced her headband with this Laura Ashley paper as I just love how it looks like fabric.

card size: 5 x5
stamps: Teacup Shy Bear,

This week's challenge was Gift Day! We were to create a card and two gifts with stamps and supplies from Susana's store.
Be sure to check out the store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see what the other talented design team members came up with!
I think I made this much harder than it needed to be. I thought and thought and agonized over this. Even told Susana and Suzanne I didn't think I'd participate this week but then I realized I was being silly and sat down and this is what I came up with.

On the bookmark I used the Crinkled Chalk Technique.

stamps:
Cathrine with butterfly, Lockhart Itty Bitty Butterfly on inside,

Try It Out Tuesday #4

For Susana's stores DT challenge this week we were to create a Valentine Card using a stamp from Susana's store that isn't necessarily Valentine-ish. Extra credit if we use scrappers floss-you know I love extra credit!! (ACK!! But then I got my card done and realized I had forgotten it, drat!)
Be sure to check out the store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see all the other DT members cards.
And be sure to check out Susana's Store for lots of fun!! Give-aways, new products, brand new stamp lines coming soon and all kinds of goodies!!
I had lots of ideas for this challenge as really so many of the stamps in Susana's store are so versatile but finally settled on Fairy Kids With Birds. To me it had that vintage type Valentine feel to it, although I don't do "vintage" well so here's my version~~

I "popped" two of the flowers up for some dimension.

Here you can see the shimmerz and stickles!

Ignore my thumb....stickles were still wet so I had to hold it to photograph it! LOL!

We'd love to have you play along! Just leave a comment with a link to your creation or if you upload it to SCS or PCP, please use the keyword TIOT4.

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2/x/4 1/4

Daisies Shy Bear

I am ashamed to say that I have been feeling overwhelmed lately. I've been fortunate to be on a bit of a buying spree but I've got to stop! I have poor stamps that haven't even seen ink yet, that's just cruel.
This cutie is one such stamp! I adore these shy bears and have several that haven't seen ink, gasp!! Time to remedy that!!!
I have also discovered that this shy bear prefers 80's music. How could I discover this you ask? Well, I was working on him and just had "anything" on and well, I threw one of this cutie away because it wasn't working. I about gave up but then put on my fav 80's music and he just started cooperating. So he is a smart bear too and likes good music--although my hubby would disagree about it being good music. LOL!
(No, I haven't gone crazy, just not much adult interaction the last few days, LOL)
I stamped the image twice and cut out two of the flowers and put them on small glue dots, just for some added dimension.
And I also have to say that I {heart} the Dovecraft and Laura Ashley Paper that Susana has. It is good quality and I love that you get 4 sheets of each design. Susana is the only store in the US that has this awesome paper right now--have you ordered some yet?
And while you're ordering, be sure to add some Shimmerz to your order. Love this stuff. I got a new color today, Candle Light. Just love this stuff.
Onto the card~~

Daisies Shy Bear, TAC retired Great Greetings on inside
