What I did:

  • accented stars and wand with copic glitter pens and stardust pens
  • used sparkly fluff on the trim and pom-pom of the hat
  • picked my paper and cut my ovals with my CM cutting system
  • added embellishments
  • finished card by adding stickles to her wings and the snowflake

Basket full of happiness

One of my new goals is to USE what I have and buy minimal. I know, don't hurt yourself from laughing too hard. I'm really going to try though as I'm spending too much money and not using what I have. Sometimes you have to say enough, right?
In keeping with that frame of mind, I decided to use this cute Sugar Nellie stamp that has sadly sat un-inked.
I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #46 for my layout. Here's the sketch:

And here's my card~ I was rather pleased with how it turned out.

Share some?

I'm not sure of the name of this image as it was shared with me in a RAK, but I do know it's by Sugar Nellie. That little dog just looks like he's saying "Share some?". LOL!
It seems like it's missing something but I like the more simple cards so I left it...hehehe!

Spring Has Sprung

Yes, I know it's summer but that's the name of this sweet Sugar Nellie image. Another RAK image that was shared with me. If you're wondering why all the RAK images lately, it's because that's normally what I take with me to my friend, Jennifer's house to color.
I've had this paper forever and didn't know what I was going to use it on as it's so much softer shades than I normally use but it worked out perfect for this sweetie.

supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image from RAK, TAC retired GWP,
paper: Luxe Cashmere Sweater,
ink: SU Basic Black,
others: prismacolors, OMS, bella dots,

Don't forget that the new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD stamps are available NOW at Susana's store!!!

Copic Creations Challenge #2-jeans

Have you seen the new Copic Creations Challenge blog? Very cool! Not only do they have challenges but an awesome design team full of tips and inspiration!!
Their challenge #2 is coloring/shading/blending/designing jeans with your copics.
Ever since I created this card, I've hated it. Do you have those cards? Ones that other people like but you just can't stand? Well, that's this card so I decided to use that wonderful image again and see if I like it better!
So here's what I came up with for my remake and also for the Copic Creations challenge #2. Sam helped me choose the colors for the apron and butterfly. Not too shabby!
I used Jen del Muro's SFYTT for this week~ you can see it here! Well, okay I used it as a starting point! LOL! My oval is too big to add one of the layers.
I like this version much better. And I really concentrated on adding some embellies and a sentiment.....I like how that worked too. Cool! LOL!

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Catch a butterfly, TAC Flutter By, on the inside is a stamp a dear friend sent me~I believe she said it was from Unity,
paper: Creative Memories,
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Real Red
others: copics (including the Basic Blue Jean Bundle, and the Blonde 2 Bundle), Azure Smooch, CM cutting system, flowers, brad, MS branch punchies that was shared with me--gotta get this punch!!, periwinkle parfait bella baubles,

Flutter By Wednesday #53

Happy Flutter By Day!! I'm so excited for today!! Why you ask? Because I get to introduce new team members!! Yay!! Thank you to all who emailed me, I couldn't add all of you but I've kept your info for later!!

So please be sure to stop by and welcome the following talented ladies to the Flutter By Team! Kim, Harriet, Nicola, Stef, and Chris!

Also be sure to check out all the great creations from last week here (at the bottom in Mister Linky)! I'm so happy to see more people playing along, so fun!

Starting this week our team members will also put their creations into Mister Linky so be sure to stop by and leave them some love! Their links are always on my left sidebar too! Several of them were under the weather this week so please leave them some love even if their creation isn't there!

The challenge this week is to create a card with a butterfly or a fairy (and just for clarification, we decided any person with wings can qualify as a fairy because it's too hard to judge some of the images out there) plus use punches or diecuts on your creation! I'd love to see your creations! Just enter the direct link to your creation in Mister Linky below. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use the keyword, FBW. Also, just a side note, please make sure your creation has a fairy or butterfly on it...I've seen some awesome cards linked but no fluttering on them! Thanks!

Our featured team member this week is Kristie! Kristie and I met online several years ago in a scrapbooking yahoo group. Since then I tease her that she's my stalker as we always end up on the same groups. She is so sweet and I am so happy that I've been able to get to know her (and enable her) over the years. Hehehe!!

I was a bit overwhelmed when I sat down to make my card for this week as now that fairies are allowed there are so many choices, but that's a good thing. I finally decided I needed to use my newest Sugar Nellie image, Catch a Butterfly. When I first saw her I knew she had to come live at my house. Isn't she just so cute?
I've seen so many people on the web adding little crystals, rhinestones and pearls to the bodies of flutter by's so I just had to try it! Yes, I'm a follower! LOL!

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Catch a butterfly, TAC Butterfly Bits on inside
paper: some I've had for-evah!
ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette French Lilac, VersaMagic Pretty Petunia
others: prismacolors, OMS, EK Sucess corner punch,
copic glitter pens, CM punch, rhinestone stickers,

Have a happy fluttering day!!
