Past Bedtime

I just had to color up this cute digi-Past Bedtime from Pixie Dust Studio that was a freebie on the Pixie Dust Studio Fan Page Facebook Group. I love her little bunny slippers and cute teddy bear.

pastbedtimea

I colored her with my copics and then carefully cut her out. Of course bunny slippers need to be fluffy so I added some fun flock to them. I used Lily Bee Head Over Heels paper--which is discounted right now at SCACD! I added some punched out hearts, some faux stitching and a few touches of stickles to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Using a new approach

Usually when designing a card or project I always start with the stamp/image first. Well, I decided today to start with the leftovers from a kit I got, errr, umm…last July from Paper Makeup Stamps. I thought I could see what I could come up with by starting the opposite of my normal process.

DSC_0001

I had so much fun doing my card this way! Really made me think outside my normal ideas! I think I’ll be trying this more often!

I got the idea to use fun flock--always forget I have it!--from this card on SCS. I paper pieced her dress too! {sigh, my poster paint pen blobbed on her bow, hope I fixed it well enough}

sallysheep1

The little details~ PMS July 2010 kit, Sally Sheep, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, copics, ultra-fine white sharpie poster paint pen, fun flock, scrappers floss,

Yay! I *finally* got this card put together and posted! It’s been on my desk for a week, geesh! I’m trying to get in the swing of things again but it might be a slow going thing, bear with me!!

Had to share this photo I took yesterday on our first hike here in Washington. Despite feeling like I was going to die, I did it! LOL! The waterfalls were just gorgeous and worth the pain..I think!!

Spring Birgitta for FBW #106

Today is another Flutter By Wednesday! This week we have an awesome sketch from Mercy! No secret that I {heart} her sketches, she is just so talented!!
Here's the sketch~

Here's what I created~ I will deny I ever said this but I think I have too many stamps...I know, crazy. But I have the hardest time choosing what image to use as I love them all! LOL! I finally did eeny meany miney mo and came up with Swiss Pixie Spring Birgitta. Poor neglected little stamp hasn't seen ink..so very sad!!
The sweet little bunny had to be fluffy so I used some white fun flock on him.

Happy New Year and Makeup 4 the Weekend

Happy New Year!! I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, fantastic new year! Got any goals for the new year? Did you set any for this year? how'd you do on those?
Here's what I wrote last New Year's Day~
Happy New Year!! Any new year goals? I really don't set any anymore as I always felt like a failure when I didn't complete them. But I am going to strive to continue to improve my card making skills, hopefully find some local stampers to get together with and try to keep up and possibly increase the number of RAK's I send out. Basically this year I just want to keep busy as Sam is deployed again for the 3rd time in May
I am really pleased that I followed through on all the goals I set for myself in 2009. In thinking about what I want to accomplish for 2010, I think I'd like to continue to improve my card making and coloring skills--we can always improve, scrapbook more, continue to send out RAK's and also try to limit my spending and use what I have more. In 2009 I seemed to just buy, buy and buy. I know I'll continue to get some new things but I really want to create, create and create. That being said, I also have decided that I'm going to take a few days a week off from commenting on blogs so that I can use that time to create...but I'll still be around often.

Okay, so enough chit-chat...onto this week's Makeup 4 The Weekend Challenge. The challenge is to use either blue and silver or black and silver on your creations.  Be sure to check out the PMS Blog to see how you can play along and to see the other design team members creations!

supplies:
What I did:
  • stamped Jashen onto my cardstock with memento ink and colored with copics
  • I added fun flock to the clouds and a silver metallic pen/marker to the stars
  • I used my shimmerz for his wings
  • finished off the card by finding papers and embellishments
  • I added some doodling around the image as well

Christmas Cards All Year Long

When I read Maria's blog a week or so ago, she had a post that she was starting a blog that only post Christmas/Winter cards and she was looking for blog team members. I was thrilled when she emailed me that I could join in on the fun!! What a great idea to help us all get those Christmas cards done and provide some inspiration too!!
Today is the launch of the blog, Christmas Stampin' All Year Long so be sure to go over and check it out!! We'd love to have you join in on the fun!
For this first week Maria gave us a sketch to use. ( Have you seen her sketches? She ROCKS at them!)
Here's what I came up with~ I used fun flock on his beard, moustache and eyebrows. On his coat trim I used glitter. On the stars I used Lemon Copic Glitter Pen and for the candle glow I used Candle Light Shimmerz--it seemed appropriate, no? I also used stickles on the die cut star--quite the array of sparkle, huh? I had to alter the sketch a bit as my sentiment was too big to go on the front but I thought it turned out cute.
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
stamps: TAC Whimsey Santa , TAC Dare To Dream-on inside, retired
paper: Georgia Pacific
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, cardstock, Palette Jardin Moss, Palette New Canvas, CTMH Holiday Red
others: copics, prismacolors, OMS , fun flock, copic glitter pen, shimmerz, glitter, cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, just my type cuttlebug embossing borders, sizzlit die for star, cyrstal stickles

Angel Wings

I can't remember who shared this image with me, I should be better about that, I'm thinking it was Ann, anyway, I wanted to play more with my shimmerz so I thought this Angel Wings Sophia from Paper Pretties would be fun to play with.
Little random side note: Have you seen the new Sophia to be released in a few months? Bunny Hop Sophia--can we say C-U-T-E!!!
Okay onto the card....... I think the blue fun flock was too blue but I went with it anyway. Not my most favorite card but still not too bad, I guess. Sometimes the mojo is flowing, and other times, not so much---does that ever happen to you?
(forgive the photo as it doesn't show the shimmerz.....I tried a zillion angles and just couldn't get it, sorry. It really does shimmer in real life though)
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: image received from someone else
paper: TAC Catelynne
ink: Palette Jardin Moss,
others: prismacolors, OMS, snow cone blue fun flock,
Shimmerz Blingz December Sky, Shimmerz Angel Wings, bella dots or bon bons--they were free with my last order so not quite sure(I think)
Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog. And.....I had more of you that like the individual posts so I'll try to keep them like that.......and speaking of images, how do YOU keep track of who sent you what??

I simply adore I {heart}2 Stamp's site and especially her SFYTT (sketch for you to try) on Saturday's. This week's sketch looked so fun so I had to try it! Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it. I finally inked up my Chilly Tilda and Chilly Bench! Yay!! My "circles" didn't quite work as well as the sketch but I guess that's the beauty of a sketch, starting from it and adding your own "take" on it, right?

Stamps: Magnolia Chilly Tilda and Chilly Bench
Paper: Georgia Pacific cardstock , cardstock from my stash

My first Whiff Of Joy stamp

I resisted the cute Whiff of Joy (WOJ) stamps for a while but with the last releases I had to have a couple. Here's the first card using my new Lizzie stamp. I think she's just adorable and in a way, reminds me of me when I was little and also my Annabelle.

When I first saw the image I pictured a pretty pink coat. So I colored her with copics, prismacolors, OMS and then added white fun flock to the trim so she had a warm fuzzy coat!
I used my stardust pen on the hearts and then used my red atyou copic glitter pen for the berries on her hat.
The paper is some I had in my scrap pile. I used my sizzlit die for the snowflake that I cut out of white vellum and then another one out of pink vellum. Then I added glitter to it. I tried a new product on this card called Geo Shaped Sparkler Stickers, they are the little gold gems.....they are so awesome!! They are stickers but have the look of little gems. I will be buying more of those for sure!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

More ATC's

I really like making these to stick in with RAK's. All of these use TAC images. Thanks for looking!

Snow Fight

I'm not happy with this card. Love the stamp which is snow fight by Stamping Bella though.

I colored the image with copics, prismacolors, OMS and then added glitter to the snowman and snowballs and fun flock to all the trim on the hat, coat, mittens and pants. I just wish I would've colored the snowman's scarf with reds and pinks...the blue just doesn't work for me. Sigh.

I used a stardust pen to doodle around the edges of the circle--which was cut out using my CM cutting system. Then I used my nestablities for the scalloped circle.

The paper is retired TAC's Merry Wishes. I'm going to be sad when I run out of this!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my work!!

Tilda on sled

Again, not sure if that's really this Tilda's name but it's what I'm calling her. LOL! All these new stamps and I just had to get into my image box and find a Magnolia to work with. I'm hooked.

I colored her with prismacolors and OMS. Then I added fun flock to her muff and trim on her hat.
A little tip that was shared with me. Color your image and then put white fun flock on it and the color shows through. I love how soft this pink looks using that technique.
I also added stickles to her wings and the snowflakes.
I used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder and then dabbed some VersaMagic Chalk ink on it to highlight the snowflakes.
I actually used my sewing machine too!! I figured since it had pink thread in it that it would be perfect.
I used a sizzlit die for the heart and the sentiment is from TAC's Tag Tidbits.
On the inside I used TAC's Running Stitches to keep the same zig-zag theme.
I am pleased with how this turned out. Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
