Happy Birthday You Party Animal

I am trying to give out birthday cards at work this year to more people so I decided I better build up my stash!

I thought the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Party Animals stamp set was a fun one to start with. Don't they look like they are just having so much fun?

I would love to be able to celebrate with these animals. Many years we've gone to the zoo on my birthday. This year we're going to go out to eat at Bonefish Grill and then the following week we're off to the races! I can't wait! Just a local racetrack but I'm excited as I have always enjoyed watching the races (and even thought at one time about being a driver!).

My designer paper is from a Michael's Hot Buy Paper Pad. I had never heard of these and never bought any until my friend, Alicia from Call Me Crafty Al talked about them. I just happen to be at Michael's recently when they were on sale and accidentally came home with 3 of them. LOL! I thought this Happy Cake Day pad was super fun and will come in handy for birthday cards!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Safari Fun Trio

Today's card is for the current CCEE Stampers Challenge of Zoo Lovers Day, one of my favorite days! You must have at least one zoo animal on your card.

As I was driving to work after seeing this challenge I thought of a card to create. Fast forward a day or so and then I couldn't remember it at all and was so frustrated until I took my daughter out to practice driving and it came back to me, yay!!

I thought the retired Safari Fun stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps was perfect for this challenge and even more fun to use it on a slimline card!! And then I got out my stamps and realized that they were too large to use them all on a slimline so I had to rethink my plan. LOL! Such is the creative process, right?

I then had a brilliant idea, if I do say so myself, and decided it would be so fun to create another side flap trifold card!! You can see the first one I made HERE!

And then as I was stamping I decided that the side flap just wouldn't work with all the images so I just decided to make three separate cards because I really wanted to color up all these cute stamps! Yup, creative process is all over the place sometimes!

I really had fun coloring up these fun stamps and creating with them. So thankful for challenges to keep the creativity flowing!!

Have a super day!

Today I'm continuing on my quest to use all of the Sweet Sunday Sketches in order. Today I have #21!

I used an older Stamping Bella stamp by Tiddly Inks called Friends come in all shapes and sizes. Super cute!!

Dutch Dare Card Challenge #166

I haven’t played along with a challenge for a while so I thought maybe I’d find a few to play along with this weekend. The first one to catch my eye was The Dutch Dare Card Challenge #166 which is a sketch~
dutchdare166
I decided to use my newest Pure Innocence Giraffe Girl. I think she’s a doll. For once I made sure she’d fit in my nestabilities oval before I started, I don’t know how many times I set out to do a sketch and then choose an image too big for the circle/oval. LOL! I have to admit I had an ulterior motive for choosing this stamp…when I was doing the Basic Grey week I found the cutest giraffe/flamingo paper in the Basic Grey Sugared paper so I just “had” to pair it up with Giraffe Girl!

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with my copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers. I also masked her and sponged some ink to add a little more depth/interest. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black also.
To finish the card I added some buttons, scrappers floss, and stickles! I also found an older Cuttlebug embossing border so I tried it out. Amazing what you find when you look around in your crafty area!
Have a great day! and for my US friends, Happy Memorial Day--remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
