Come to Me all you who are weary...

I thought this stamp, which happens to be my favorite bible verse, was appropriate during these challenging times. I made this for a friend to hopefully bring a smile to her.

I used an old Viva La Verve Sketch, September 2017.

I did keep the elements flat on the card so it would mail easily without extra postage. I blame my friend Alicia for her influence in the gold embossing (first time I've used gold, I think,) and the vellum!

I think it turned out pretty and hope that my friend likes it.

Have a super day!

Thanks for being so kind

Today I have a card to share with you using a Verve stamp set, Kindness Matters. Sadly Verve is no longer in business but I'm thankful for the few sets I have from them and thankful I've saved lots of the sketches from Viva La Verve (and Mojo Monday) to use!

For this card I used the April 2018 Viva La Verve sketch~

I like that the card went together easily, sometimes I feel I struggle to get them to get them done.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great crafty day!

FBW # 236

It's time for another Flutter By Wednesday Challenge but before I get to that I thought I'd share some news!

Sam found out Monday that he will be separating from the army due to him being in the overweight program twice. While this means he won't get his retirement, it is happy news to us as he has been miserable the last few years.

We will be starting a new adventure towards the end of the summer as we start our fresh, new military-free lives in Omaha, Nebraska! We are all so excited and happy for this!!

I know some people are saying Omaha?? why Omaha. Well, several reasons~
  • more centralized
  • closer to most of our family
  • one of my most favorite zoos--important since I want to work at a zoo when I grow up
  • lower cost of living
  • we really enjoyed Omaha when we visited there
Onto what you came here for~~ it's time for a new Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and to see the Flutter By Team's wonderful creations!

This week our challenge is to use a sentiment on the front of your creation along with your butterfly or fairy!
Don't fall over...there's no coloring on my card today! From Millan.Net

For my layout I used an older sketch from Mojo Monday.

We're half way through the week--hope yours is and continues to be fabulous!

Notebooks and Clipboards

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope your day is full of lotsa luck! From Millan.Net

I have mentioned the big project I'm working on so I thought I'd share the first phase that I finished last night. I altered notebooks and clipboards for each goodie bag that I'm putting together.  The verse on these is from a stamp set from Verve which worked out so wonderfully as this is the verse my friend is using for her women's retreat. I am making 9 goodie bags and will share each set of projects as I get them finished!

Also sharing the new bunk beds my hubby made for Belle for her American Girl dolls. I think he did such a fabulous job!!

Have a super day!!

Verve Blog Party Challenge #1

I've been an admirer of Verve Stamps for quite a while. Finally on my last shopping spree for my Christmas presents I ordered a couple to get "My Verve On". LOL!
I was pleased today when I was looking at my google reader and I saw that Verve was having a Thankful Hearts Blog Party to release their new sets. I thought it would be fun to play along with a few of their challenges, starting with Challenge #1--a color challenge.

Here's what I came up with for this fun color challenge~

supplies:
What I did:
This was such a different process for me on this card, I just hope it works! I started by cutting out a SU top note in black. Then I sort of fidgeted around with things until I figured out a layout. I cut a second top note die out of white and cut around the edge of it on the perforated lines. I used my corner rounder on the old olive piece.
I used my flowers #3 Sizzix texturz plate for the embossing on the old olive piece and then sponged more old olive ink on top of it to make the embossing a bit more prominent. I also sponged old olive on the white top note die.
Next I stamped my sentiment in basic black. I stamped the butterfly next to the sentiment in old olive. Then stamped another one in bermuda bay that I cut out and layered over the old olive one. I added a few of the swirls in bermuda bay to the corners. To finish it off I added a few embellishments. Gasp, as I was finishing I realized there wasn't any sparkle! LOL! So I added a few touches to the butterfly with my clear copic glitter pen.

This was a fun card for me and a challenge as I didn't color anything!! Really a rare thing for me but I liked it!!
