Cocktail Emily

In THIS post I mentioned a list of prompts that I was following to get my creative mojo working. First was unicorns and next is cups & drinks. I looked through my stamps and found this fun stamp that I've had forever from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps (sadly no longer in business) called Cocktail Emily. I thought now was the perfect time to ink her up!

I am finding that I'm constantly going back to this layout but it just works for these larger images. I'm just happy to be back to creating, even if it is a slow process for now.

For my card today I used Swimming Lucy since we've been spending so much time in the pool to beat the heat! I think I need to get a floatie and have a drink too the next time we go! LOL!  I CASED this card by Sparkle for my layout as I thought it was such a cool way to use up some scraps!

Annabelle's cheer coach is moving away,, so I thought I'd make her a card to thank her for all that she's done for Belle.

I probably won't be blogging for a week or so--just depends on how long it takes us to move. Normally we move in 2 days but this time we've planned on a week. We'll see if we make it the whole week or if it drives us batty and we finish early.

Good books build character

I'll admit it..as much fun as I've been having making my holiday cards, I'm still putting too much pressure on myself-plus it seems that for every one that I get made, I get three more names added to my list to send to so I think I'm going to just take the pressure off myself and go buy some. It's not the end of the world, right?

I will still be creating some holiday cards but not every.single.day, LOL! Onto my creation for today~

I'm in a gift exchange and the name I drew said she was a bookworm so I thought it would be appropriate to make a bookmark for her. My inspiration came from this bookmark on SCS! Isn't that just gorgeous??

Happy Birthday!

Sort of a strange but fun story about this card. I have been making cards for a new friend from Curves for her to give to her friends and family. I guess she has really been telling everyone how much she loves my cards as one day one of her friends--whom I’ve never met--came in and asked me to make a card for her to give to our mutual friend for her birthday as a surprise. We think it will really stump her how she is receiving a card made by me from a friend who doesn’t know me. :)

I really struggled with what to do for the card--I have the hardest time creating when I am making something for someone else--but then I remembered my friend really liked a card I did with Cafe Lucy from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps so I decided to use that image.

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. I used my new Farm House Sugar Hill papers with Cafe Lucy for an autumn feel. I added a few touches of sparkle with my copic glitter pens and stardust pen. I sponged distress ink around all the edges of the paper.


To finish the front of the card I added some buttons with twine. For the inside I stamped the sentiment and the image and then added some of the decorative paper.


Hope she likes it!

A big Happy Birthday to Leanne! I hope it’s an extra special day for her!! Here’s my card using Cupcake Ruby from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. My paper is Basic Grey Konnichiwa. I paper pieced her dress, cupcake liner and candle.

I kept the card pretty simple so the image could stand out.  It needed some sparkle so I added some stickles, stardust pen and copic glitter pens. (ignore the black spot on the cupcake liner, the stickles reacted with the markers. sigh.)

SCRS Challenge #57

This week’s challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps is a color challenge! Normally I don’t do so well at color challenges but this one was primary colors so I thought that was up my alley so I thought I’d join in the fun!

I had the hardest time choosing what stamp to use (seriously, don’t you love Sparkle’s line of stamps?) and finally decided on one of my newest stamps from the Karber line, Soda Jenny.
