Golden Lily

The SCACD DT was so excited about the stamp releases last week, Sampler 8 from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and Mythical Reflections from Susana Loves Stamps, that we decided to show off the stamps again today! You can check out the other team members creations by visiting their blogs-links are on my sidebar.

Today I’m showing off Golden Lily from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then masked her off and sponged on some ink. I then colored her with copics. I used Basic Grey Konnichiwa for my designer paper, which I don’t see at SCACD right now but there’s TONS of other great designs to choose from HERE!

I got out the sewing machine as I think a stitched edge really adds so much to a card. Obviously I need to drag it out more and practice on straight stitching..LOL!

I added some butterflies, a few Kaisercraft rhinestones, a few touches with a stardust pen and some Smooch Illuminate for some shimmer to finish the card.

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #39

The challenge this week at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps is to make your handmade embellishment. I thought I'd give it a try!

I had colored Cupcake Ruby at one of the craft groups so I thought she'd be fun to use. I used some of my fun My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy True Blue paper (which is discounted right now!).


Don't faint either...I did use my sewing machine. We're going to pretend the sewing is straight and that there aren't extra holes where I had to fix a broken thread. Sigh. I need to use it more!!


I wasn't very original for my handmade embellishment..I made the rolled flowers but at least I tried, right?

Bellas are in da' house!!

I {heart} Stamping Bella and just got an order in on Thursday so I just had to play with them and older ones that have never seen ink~~shudder! My weekend crew--links on my sidebar--might even play along this weekend so visit them if you have time!
I took a break from details but if you'd like to know any supplies or anything, just ask!!
On to da' cards~~

First up is Meredith the Teacup Girl. I thought it turned out cute but it was a challenge as I used all scraps for it...fun finding yellows and oranges that matched!

Next we have Martha Lulu. I tried to be creative with my coloring, not so sure I like it....

One last one for today...Content-to-be-a-bella. I think I'm starting to find my groove again.

A month of flowers..

My weekend crew (links on sidebar) and I decided instead of a weekly theme, we're going to try a more general monthly theme so we can work at it whenever we get a chance.
For March, (can you believe it's March 1st?), we decided to have our theme be flowers! Fun!!
So to start off the month I decided to use one of my most favorite stamps, Gerbera Daisy by TAC. I stamped the flower twice and cut one out, popped it up on pop dots for dimension. And go me, I changed the thread and bobbin on my sewing machine without having to look at the directions! LOL!

It's really a dark brown not black cardstock and a yellow not orange....regardless, I really like how this turned out!

Oops! Forgot to go around the edges of the flower I cut out with a black marker...isn't it funny how photos make us see all our little mistakes? hehehe!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #51

I love Mercy's sketch for this week!! It might be one I use often!!

I have lots of stamps in mind for this sketch but for today I chose Storytime Sophia. She's been sitting here for a while waiting to be inked up!

What I did:
I started by stamping Sophia onto my cardstock in memento ink and colored her with my copics. I also stamped Sophia onto my designer paper so I could paper piece her shirt. Once I had Sophia all ready to go, I stamped the sentiment below her with rich cocoa memento ink.
I got all the panels cut out for the card and then used my sewing machine to stitch along all the edges. To finish the card I adhered all the panels and added a few embellishments.
Almost forgot, I used my bow easy to make the bow. I recommend Suzanne's wonderful video for first time users of the bow easy--or if you're like me, forgetful users, she does a fab job on it.

The Sweet Stop SSS31

Another fun sketch this last Saturday at The Sweet Stop. There's a twist to add sewing to your creation too, how fun!

Here's what I came up with~

What I did:
I stamped my new Sweet n' Sassy Birthday Party Emma onto my cardstock with Memento ink and colored her with copics. Of course I had to have some sparkle so I added some accents with my copic glitter pens to her bows and the bag.
Once I decided on what papers to use, I cut them out and then thought about how I was going to add sewing. hmmmm.... While deciding I sponged SU Creamy Caramel on all the edges of the papers.
I decided to be brave and use my sewing machine for the sewing...eek, I hope I remember how to change the thread and bobbin...hehehe! Sadly I didn't and couldn't find my manual..thank goodness for online manuals!! 
I then decided on my sentiment, punched out my ovals, sponged ink on them, then adhered everything down and finished the card by adding embellishments and some diamond glaze to the balloon. The flower center still looked too bare after I added the crystal so I filled it in with Diamond stickles and also put a drop or two on the two tabs on the side.

My April Bella Challenge

I'm a moderator on a new bella yahoo group and I get to have fun and issue a challenge once a month. How fun!
For this month I was inspired by Sheri's awesome bella card she created for the homepage contest. You can see it here.
So my challenge is to use a stamp from StampingBella.com and create a card that has:

• paper piecing
• bling/sparkle~glitter, shimmerz, rhinestones, etc.
• stitching~ real or faux

I had so much fun with my card. Been a while since I've played with my bellas. For the layout of the card I used a SCS Bella Forum sketch, BSC58. You can also tell from the crooked stitching that I used my sewing machine for my stitching. I so need to practice more with that! My bling is stickles and shimmerz on some of the shopping bags and also glitter pen on her headband.

Tilda on sled

Again, not sure if that's really this Tilda's name but it's what I'm calling her. LOL! All these new stamps and I just had to get into my image box and find a Magnolia to work with. I'm hooked.

I colored her with prismacolors and OMS. Then I added fun flock to her muff and trim on her hat.

A little tip that was shared with me. Color your image and then put white fun flock on it and the color shows through. I love how soft this pink looks using that technique.

I also added stickles to her wings and the snowflakes.

I used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder and then dabbed some VersaMagic Chalk ink on it to highlight the snowflakes.

I actually used my sewing machine too!! I figured since it had pink thread in it that it would be perfect.

I used a sizzlit die for the heart and the sentiment is from TAC's Tag Tidbits.

On the inside I used TAC's Running Stitches to keep the same zig-zag theme.

TECC34

I've never done one of Taylor's Cupcake Friday Challenges but thought this sketch looked fun so I tried it. Although my card sort of took a different direction as Ms. Cuppacakeabella was a much larger image than the sketch. But regardless, I tried.

I colored my image with copics, prismacolors and OMS. I used my A Muse essential ovals for the cupcake to sit on. I also paper pieced the cupcake paper. Since my sewing machine already had pink thread in it, I actually used it. LOL! The paper is TAC Catelynne. I struggled with the ribbon and then it was too small for the ribbon slots I used so I helped hide those with a button.

I used cotton candy stickles on the cupcake and a glaze pen on the cherry. It was a fun card to create, even if it waviered from the sketch!

Ahead of the game....

For a change I'm ahead of things. This if for another yahoo groups sketch on Friday. Good feeling to be ahead of things. Now if I'd only stop adding projects to my list! I'm working on some bookmarks right now......for bible study......which is on Wednesday! LOL!
