I think it turned out nice!! the glitter didn't really show up in the photos but those snowflakes are very sparkly in person! Another holiday card done for my stash!

StampFairy Challenge--a shaker card

EEK! This week at StampFairy Challenges the challenge is to make a shaker card. I have never made one and almost chickened out but figured, that's why it's a challenge so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Okay, I struggled big time with this but only because I messed up my cutting of the image as I should've left more space around it. But I didn't give up and I finished it...next time, hopefully, it'll be easier for me and look better! LOL!

**edited to add--be sure there are NO gaps, even tiny ones in the foam tape on a shaker card when you use glitter!! I thought I had it sealed good...gave it to Belle this morning and well, now we have a very sparkly kitchen table! LOL! **

The little details~ digi Toby Spring Fairy, copics, My Mind's Eye Tickled Pink, SU scallop punch, Smooch Illuminate, Martha Stewart punch, glitter, flowers, stickles,

Cheery Q

Christy has a dear friend turning 40 soon and wanted to surprise her with 40 cards so I thought it would be fun to join in!

Christy had designed an image for her friend but I thought I'd be different and use an image I've had for awhile but haven't used, Cheery Q. Isn't she so fun on her cupcake?

this shows the embossing a bit better

My colors were based of off Christy's friends favorites. I kept it pretty simple so it'd mail okay. Hope she enjoys it!!

The little details~ digi Cheery Q, copics, pitch black copic glitter pen, nestabilities, copic multi-liner, Martha Stewart crystal coarse glitter, cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder,

Cupcake Day

Last month I had fun with my family on our "dinosaur day" (you can read about it HERE) so we decided to do theme days every so often. Our last one was a cupcake day! We drew pictures of cupcakes and told stories about them, Belle colored some print outs of cupcakes and of course, we made some yummy cupcakes and the kiddos decorated them. Then the best part--eating them! Yummy!!

Here's a few photos of our fun day~~

This last one was Officer Belle giving Matthew a speeding and littering ticket in his "car"!

So I only thought it fitting to use an image with a cupcake...and since I haven't gotten this PMS stamp inky, I thought it was even more perfect! Meet Olive the Otter! Isn't she just too cute and fun??

I used this week's sketch from SCS, SC287.

supplies:
  • card size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • stamps: Olive the Otter,
  • paper: PTI cardstock, scraps from Basic Grey Euphoria, SU cardstock,
  • ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Rich Razzleberry,
  • others: copics, glitter, stardust pen, flowers, Heidi Swapp jewels,

Lolli Anya

I can't believe our weather here in El Paso! It is brutally cold out--for us--and they are predicting more snow! Wow!! Tomorrow night they are predicting the temps to fall around 21 degrees....brrrrrr!!!!
Of course the kids (and me) are hoping for another snow day but we'll see.

Okay onto my card. I used my new Lolli Anya so I could show some fun glitter on her lollipop. Isn't she just so cute?? Love her!!

supplies:
What I did:
I stamped Lolli Anya in memento ink onto my cardstock and colored her with my copics. I used my quickie glue pen to add glitter to the lollipop. I love using the quickie glue pen as you can get in small areas easy so you can add different colors.
I added a few touches to the bows and dress with my copic glitter pens. I cut the image out with my nesties and then doodled around the edges with my CM fine tip markers. To finish the card I picked the papers, added a few embellishements and voila', a Lolli Anya card.

As I was getting ready to post this, I looked outside, lookie what I saw~
We'll see what the schools do tomorrow...hopefully no school! This is so unusual for here!!

Sparkly Thursday #2- Glitter

I think most of us started our sparkly journey with glitter. I know many people don't like to use glitter as they feel it's too messy but it's still one of my favorites, although I tend to grab stickles more these days.
Not much to really show about glitter but a Sparkly Thursday couldn't be complete without it.

Here's just a few things I thought of to share about wonderful glitter:
  • it comes in so many colors
  • lots of different sizes, there are super tiny crystal glitter all the way to big chunky glitter so it depends on the look you want
  • before you apply your glue, rub either an anti-static cloth over your paper or a dryer sheet to remove the static electricity so the glitter doesn't stray far.
  • use a glitter clean up cloth for easier clean up
  • one lesson I learned the hard way---don't have any fans on..LOL!
  • use a quickie glue pen to get small areas and to use different colors in small areas
  • there are lots of options of glitter for snow....makes a gorgeous effect
Thanks for stopping by for Sparkly Thursday! Stop by next Thursday for glitter pens!!

I don't have a card right this second to share with you, got carried away looking at blogs and cutting new rubber.  I'll have a new creation soon!
Have a sparkly day!
