Aw, Shucks.

I love birthdays. I am the WORST at sending birthday cards. The worst. So I decided that I'm taking a few days to make some belated birthday cards. 

Today I'm using a stamp from MFT called Green Pastures. I realize now that I wish I had bought the companion set, The Whole Herd to go with it but it's on my wishlist! 

So tell me, how do you keep track of birthdays? Are you good at sending out birthday cards in time?

Autumn Marci

Normally I color my image and then find the papers I want to use but today I did the opposite and boy did it challenge me! One of the groups I'm in has a challenge this month to use plaid. Sounded easy enough until I tried to find plaid paper!! I found a few different styles of "plaid" so hopefully one will work for the challenge.

Once I found my paper then I picked out my stamp. Autumn Marci from La La Land Crafts (she is sadly retired) hasn't been inked up so I thought I needed to fix that! 

I'm entering this card into Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge~ Anything Goes.

I used a sweet digi from MilkCoffee called Lisbeth Loves Sunflower. She's colored with copics and then fussy cut out. The pennants are made from Farm House-Sugar Hill papers and added to a white cardstock that has been embossed using Cuttlebug's Seeing Spots embossing folder. I finished things off with some butterflies from a SU die.

Miranda

Another card using one of Elaine Cox's beautiful stamps!! I used Maggie last time~~ you can see that card HERE~~ and today I'm using Miranda. She can be found in the Sweet Pea Stamps store HERE in digi form and HERE in rubber stamp form and is also available on Plate 85 in rubber stamps. I used the digi stamp today.

I just love these stamps~~ those eyes just draw you in!! I can't wait to color up more of them!

Faith Flowers

I am so happy to be back designing for Whimsy and Stars Studio! I've always loved Mabelle's images and was on her team before but then took a little break but I'm back for another term! Yay!

For today's card I used the very pretty, Faith Flowers. 

I'm so ready for autumn that I colored her up in autumn like colors. She's such a versatile stamp!! (I used Cryogen Iridescent cardstock to print her on and it has a sparkle so that's what you're seeing in the photo. I tried to get one that didn't show as much sparkle but it wasn't cooperating!)

I inked up Hey Mae from Some Odd Girl. I just {heart} her!!! I colored her up in autumn colors as it's my favorite season and for the first time in a long time I actually get to experience autumn this year here in Nebraska! The trees are already starting to lose some of their leaves and it's a bit cooler...ohh..I can't wait!!

I added some touches of sparkle with copic glitter pens and stickles and then added some butterflies to finish the card.

This week our challenge is to use Kraft cardstock with your butterfly or fairy. Easy peasy, right? Hope you’ll join us this week!
I thought Annie Oak Leaf by Carmen Medlin for SCACD would be the perfect choice to pair up with Kraft cardstock. I’m so happy that we’re starting to see cooler temps and more autumn like weather here in Washington as autumn is one of my favorite seasons!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with my copics. Along with my Kraft cardstock I used Farm House-Sugar Hill designer paper. I added some twine, a butterfly and some stickles to finish the card.

Happy Birthday!

Sort of a strange but fun story about this card. I have been making cards for a new friend from Curves for her to give to her friends and family. I guess she has really been telling everyone how much she loves my cards as one day one of her friends--whom I’ve never met--came in and asked me to make a card for her to give to our mutual friend for her birthday as a surprise. We think it will really stump her how she is receiving a card made by me from a friend who doesn’t know me. :)

I really struggled with what to do for the card--I have the hardest time creating when I am making something for someone else--but then I remembered my friend really liked a card I did with Cafe Lucy from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps so I decided to use that image.

I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. I used my new Farm House Sugar Hill papers with Cafe Lucy for an autumn feel. I added a few touches of sparkle with my copic glitter pens and stardust pen. I sponged distress ink around all the edges of the paper.


To finish the front of the card I added some buttons with twine. For the inside I stamped the sentiment and the image and then added some of the decorative paper.
