Watermelon Ellie

Anyone else see a paper pad and immediately think of an image you know is *perfect for it? I did that with Lemon Ellie in THIS post and I did it again with Watermelon Ellie and the Not 2 Shabby It's a Fresh Summer 6x6 Paper Pad!! A perfect match!

I used a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (no longer active), Sketch #176.

What a fun sketch! Great way to use several sheets of designer paper! 

Now who wants to run out and get a yummy watermelon?

I found a super cute digi, Need a Hug,  from Whimsie Doodles (no longer in business) already printed out so I decided to use it. So precious!!

Sketch Sunday- Little Dreamer

It's time for Sketch Sunday! This week I have another Sweet Sunday Sketch! Sketch #72! This sketch sort of threw me a bit and I didn't follow it exactly but it was a good starting point!

I went through all my stamps and finally decided to use a retired stamp set from The Greeting Farm called Oliver and Amelia~Little Dreamer. Not sure I've ever inked this set up! Such a sweet little set!!

I added the sentiment on the inside. I really like the different colors I used for this card. Simple but lets the images shine!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm on winter break now from work so hopefully I'll have lots of time to get crafty!! I will be working ahead though as next month I'm super excited to be a guest designer for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!

Sketch Sunday- Cute Cacti

You guessed it, another series. LOL! I'm just having the best time crafting lately! I'm not sure how long I'll keep all these going but for now I'm just going to have fun!

My Sketch Sunday is just what it sounds like, make a card using a sketch! This week I'm using the Sweet Sunday Sketch #70!

I decided to use my Cute Cacti stamp set and dies from Whimsy Stamps. I also used the Whimsy Stamps Festive Desert 6x6 Paper Pack instead of the swirly design on the sketch. I'm not sure my design is exactly like the sketch but at least the sketch gave me inspiration!

I think this would be a fun birthday card so I put the sentiment "celebrate" on it.

Hey, Friend

Happy New Year! It doesn't seem possible that it's 2020!! Is that something an old person says? I feel old lately. You didn't come here for my musings so onto my card for today!

I used another Sweet Sunday Sketch. You can see all my other cards using these awesome sketches HERE! Today I have sketch #69! 

I used a digi from Some Odd Girl called Hi Kaylee. She looked like she was welcoming in the new year to me! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I colored her with my copics and cut her out with nestabilities. The rest of the card came together pretty easily. I think my sentiment was a little too small but I decided to just leave it.

Another layout that I can see being used again!

I thought I'd get busy on more Sweet Sunday Sketches! I've made a little quest to myself to use all 300 of them in order. You can see previous cards made with them HERE! I really like this one, #68!! I can see myself using this one more than once for sure!

I took some time and went through all my stamps (I have them stamped into notebooks for easy reference, I explain it all in THIS post) and finally decided to use the Stampin' Up set, You're Delightful to begin the card. I have ideas for future cards too!

Before I started stamping and putting the card together I picked out the papers and decided how exactly I wanted to do this. Ink under the sentiment? maybe watercolor? maybe just colored words and another image? hmmm.....

I decided to go with the SU designer series paper, Garden Impressions. I also decided to use the SU background stamp, Watercolor Wash with SU Pool Party ink to put under the sentiment. I think this is the first time I've used the Watercolor Wash background stamp. I found using a little foam brayer was useful in getting it inked up.

I stamped the "You're delightful" in SU Pacific Point and the "P.S. Happy Birthday" in SU Shaded Spruce. I have to say that I think one of the best purchases I've ever gotten is the MISTI and Mini MISTI stamping tool. It really has been a game changer in the way I stamp and to get a good image!!

I decided it need just a little something more so I stamped the speech bubbles that come with the set in SU Shaded Spruce.

I like how it turned out and like I said earlier, this is a sketch I plan to revisit!! So many possibilities!!

Bold and Blooming Thank You

Today I'm playing along with another Sweet Sunday Sketch! This is #67! This is another one that made me think but that's good! It keeps those creative muscles working!

I looked through my stamps and decided that Gina K.'s Bold and Blooming set would be fun for this sketch. I can never have too many thank you cards!!

When I got it finished like the sketch it looked sort of plain so I added the doily to it which made it look a bit more finished.

I paired Do Si Do Anya with some retired Stampin' Up paper. I think she turned out cute!!

I was so excited that The Greeting Farm had a mystery box recently and I was able to get one. This fun set, Cute Kitties was in it and I couldn't wait to ink them up! I made the card 4.25 square so it will fit into a regular A2 envelope.
