Mermaid Monday- Mer Friends

Mermaid Monday- Sea You Soon

I took a little time away from my themed posts last month since I was a guest designer for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps but I'm excited to start getting back on track with them as I did enjoy them so much!! Although, I might not do each theme each week. I decided to just take things slow this year and do whatever really sparks joy with me, not forced creativity.

It's time for Mermaid Monday! This week I'm using Aquarina from The Greeting Farm. Isn't she just so sweet?

For my layout I used an old Deconstructed Sketch, #129.

I didn't have room on the front of the card to put the sentiment so I added it to the inside.

Summer Fairy {hello friend}

Another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge card! I am having so much fun with these!! Today is #42! I decided to make a regular A2 size card vs. the smaller, skinny card that the sketch was designed for.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this new Sale-a-bration stamp set, Home to Roost, but after using it on this card, I can say that I do like it...a lot! It was fun and I can't wait to use it again!

It's that time again! What time you ask, time for a new release at The Greeting Farm!! All the new goodies will be available July 22, 2016!!

It's no secret that holiday cards are not really my favorite to make (I looked, since 2013 I've only made 32 winter/holiday cards out of the 547 cards I've made!) but I have to say, that might be changing!! This release is oh so fabulous that it's even making me want to get into the Christmas in July spirit!!

Thank you for always being there

Sometimes I just get so giddy when I color up stamps and make a card! I just love the process, love seeing it come together! This was one of those cards! I didn't know what direction to go when I started this but it just came together easily and I think it turned out so cute!

The cutie pie is from Whimsy Stamps, the Wee Stamps Collection and this is Dolly. The sentiment is also from a Whimsy set called Frame of Thanks. The die, Mini Picture Frame Die, is also from Whimsy.

Friends Warm the Heart

If you know me at all you know that I don't do well at making Christmas cards. I don't know why--maybe all the pressure to make them or just that there's so many of them that you need??  So when I saw the Friday Challenge (that I put out there on one of my yahoo groups) #4 was to use a snowman, I admit it, I groaned. LOL! But I do better at winter cards so after I groaned, I smiled a little. 

I love snowmen though and normally in January I have a whole collection of them that I pull out and put on display.  So I figured this year I would try to embrace more winter cards and maybe even a few Christmas cards!!

I don't think this cute little Pure Innocence Girl from MFT has ever been used so I had to fix that!!

Snowy

This pretty and sweet image is from Sweet Pea Stamps and is from the artist Conie Fong and called Snowy. You can find it in digi form~HERE and rubber form~HERE!

I used the digi form for my card today and colored the image with copics. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather and some stickles and pearls finish off the card. 

I used a sketch from the Friday Sketch Challenge for my layout. I'm too late for the challenge but I liked the sketch.

Yumi

Time for another post for Yumi & Fumi Handmade!! This week I was in the mood for butterflies! Hehehe..I'm always in the mood for butterflies. 

I saw a tutorial on using the copic airbrush system and getting snowflakes in the background but can't remember where I saw it but anyway, I thought maybe I could do the same with some butterflies and sponging some ink.

First I stamped my image--the super fun Yumi--and cut it out using a nestie die. I left the die in place so I could sponge the edges too. Then I made a mask for Yumi and then I placed some punched butterflies down with some repositionable glue.

Next I just carefully sponged on my ink and then carefully removed my butterflies.

I then let out a sigh of relief that it actually worked! A fun way to make a background and the possibilities are endless because you can use any die cut image!!

To finish the card I colored Yumi with copics and paper pieced her shirt.Then I paired her with some Cosmo Cricket Wanted papers and used a Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch.

I also added an image and strip of patterned paper to the inside to finish the card!

I had fun coloring up another Make It Crafty digi, Mariah. I think she's fun! 

The sparkles you see in her face/hair are from the Cryogen Iridescent paper I've been using. I finally figured out that if I take a side view they aren't as bad. Yay me!
