I saw a tutorial on using the copic airbrush system and getting snowflakes in the background but can't remember where I saw it but anyway, I thought maybe I could do the same with some butterflies and sponging some ink.
First I stamped my image--the super fun Yumi--and cut it out using a nestie die. I left the die in place so I could sponge the edges too. Then I made a mask for Yumi and then I placed some punched butterflies down with some repositionable glue.
Next I just carefully sponged on my ink and then carefully removed my butterflies.
I then let out a sigh of relief that it actually worked! A fun way to make a background and the possibilities are endless because you can use any die cut image!!
To finish the card I colored Yumi with copics and paper pieced her shirt. Then I paired her with some Cosmo Cricket Wanted papers and used a Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch.
I also added an image and strip of patterned paper to the inside to finish the card!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!!
