Kraftin' KImmie March Skrappy Challenge

  Good morning krafty friends!

It's March, and that means it's time for a brand new
SKRAPPY CHALLENGE

with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

The theme of course is ANYTHING BUT A CARD!

For this challenge you can make anything that strikes your fancy....except a card!
So design a new scrapbook page, bookmark, tag, altered item, planner page, art journal, ATC cards...whatever you like!

Just make sure to include some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps products and make sure it's a new creation!  As soon as we have at least five people playing along, we'll be giving away a $10 gift voucher to the krafty shop as the monthly prize!

For this month's Skrappy Challenge I decided to make a tag. I used the Bouncing Bubbles Stencil with some Nuvo Moonstone Glitter Paste to create the base for my tag. For my image I used one of the mermaids I colored up in my Krafty Kolour Along Live, (you can always watch the replay or I have a video going over this technique HERE!). This fun mermaid and her turtle friend are from the Mermaid Friends stamp set and her tail has a pattern created on it with the Pattern Parade Stencil!

I don't make tags often but this sure was fun!!

You have until Monday, April 4th to enter, and you can submit as many new creations as you like for more chances to WIN!  Also be sure to share your designs on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps' Krafty Friends facebook page because we love to see your stuff!

Check out some more inspiration from the Krafty Team below and be inspired to get krafty!!

Have a sweet summer!

My friend Alicia made a watermelon card recently that was adorable so it inspired me to make one too!

I used some neglected dies for this card. I always forget to sponge ink onto my die cuts but I remembered today and did a comparison between inked and uninked...wow! It really does add so much!!

This was a fun card to create! A little different for me to not be using many stamps but that's good, it helps to shake things up often!

(it was a hard card to photograph but hopefully you get the idea!)

Have a wonderful day!!

More layouts!

I've been busy scrapbooking! 3 more layouts to share! I really am having the best time scrappin' but I think I will be making a card or so soon~~ don't want to get rusty on my coloring!

Again, not the greatest photos but you get the idea. I used my CTMH idea books for the first two layouts and then used a sketch from SCS for the last one.

Here's the SCS sketch I used for the last layout~

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back soon! I'm excited that I went on a job interview today and I go back later in the week for the second part of the interview. Crossing my fingers that this one works out!!

Have a happy day!

Hello Sweet Friend

I was inspired today by MFT's Creative Construction with Blueprints post today to make a tag. Of course, now want the tag builder blueprints but I am telling myself to make more tags before I buy them!

My first tag uses a retired stamp from The Greeting Farm called Wild Sprouts Dee Dee. She's just adorable! I tried coloring a darker skin tone and different hair color combo than I usually do and used a color combo from Amy, HERE!

It's simple but I like it. Have a great day and hope you do something that makes you smile!

Trishell

Time for another mermaid! Today I'm using the beautiful Trishell Mermaid from The Greeting Farm! She's out of stock but I am sure they'll have more in stock soon!

I love her tail and the way it fans out so I had to add some sparkle to it! I also used my MFT Blueprints 1 dies for this card. I'm really liking those dies more and more but of course, that means that I want more and more. LOL!

Have a fabulous day and be happy!

What a happy day!

For a while now I have felt like something has been missing from my crafting. There have been a few days when I felt happy and content but mostly, I just felt like I was going through the motions.

I put too much pressure on myself~~getting caught up in the whole blogging and social media side of crafting~~ feeling like I should blog every day, keep up with Facebook, yahoo groups, Facebook groups, Ning sites....it's exhausting.

I also find myself falling into the trap of comparing myself to others. Which I know not to do, but I have caught myself lately thinking that I don't color as well as others, or I don't put my cards together as well as others. Stupid, I know.

In my heart I've been longing to get back to my roots so to speak. Scrapbooking. I have so many photos to scrap and you know what, it makes me so happy when I look through my scrapbooks and my photos. But I always get overwhelmed and never know where to start.

So I decided this weekend, enough is enough. I need to do what makes ME happy. In my style, my time and no pressure. I know, this is something I should do all along but I find it so easy to get wrapped up in all the other stuff. So I told myself to just go upstairs, grab an envelope of photos that haven't been put away yet and scrap them.

I was thrilled that the envelope I grabbed had zoo photos! and I scrapped. and I smiled. and I felt the happiness in my heart like I haven't felt in quite a while.

I used my stamps. I used my Cricut. I used punches. I used dies. I didn't try to find challenges. I didn't look at any sites for how I should make the perfect layout. I had fun.

Lesson learned or should I say re-learned...Do what makes YOURSELF happy!

There might not be as many posts on the blog....might not be as many cards...might be more layouts...maybe something else...but that's okay because it's my blog.

I do appreciate all the love and support from my blogging friends and I appreciate you all continuing to stop by when you have a chance!

With all that said, here's the layouts I made today.

Have a fabulous night! I think I might start another layout!

If all else fails, add pink, sparkle and a butterfly!

Sweater Sock Fairy

Finally! Got a card done! I've been working on this since last Saturday~~ I think that's the longest it's ever taken me to finish a card. But between celebrating Matthew's 12th birthday, getting in the routine of school/Sam's work and also starting back at Curves...I've been tired and busy!!

We have nothing planned this weekend so hopefully I can create, create and create the weekend away!!

This image is one of the new fairies from Saturated Canary. They have an edge to them that I think is fun! (remember you can always click on the photo to see it larger)

The Pink Elephant # 161

We’re heading Back To School this week with The Pink Elephant Challenge so be sure to visit the blog to find out how you can play along and to see the other team members creations!

I thought Bookish Tia from Some Odd Girl would be fun for this challenge. Doesn’t she look so stylish heading back to school?

I colored her with my copics and then cut her out. I paired her with Kaisercraft Class of ‘87 paper. My nestabilities were used to cut out the background behind Bookish Tia. I used a combo of dies and punches to create the flowers.

On the inside I added a strip of paper and stamped the sentiment from my TAC-Tag Tidbit set. To finish the card I added some Kaisercraft rhinestones for some more accents.

Hope you’ll join us this week at The Pink Elephant Challenge!!

Basic Grey Curio

When trying to decide which Basic Grey paper to use today I found the Curio pad and realized I’ve only used it maybe once, so out it came!
Next I needed to chose an image so I went to my printed digi folder to see if something there caught my eye and something did..hehe! I thought Precious from Tiddly Inks would work wonderfully with these papers.

Send a Smile 4 Kids

I am so pleased and just filled with happiness as I have just went through my stash of cards and got 55 cards ready to be mailed off to Send a Smile 4 Kids. I hope to make monthly card donations to them from now on as this is one cause that touches my heart.
For those who don’t know, my Annabelle was in the Children’s Hospital in Kansas City, a week after she was born. She was having seizures and after a horrific day at the hospital where she was born and watching them poke my baby 18 times to try and get blood and spinal fluid--with no success--they air-lifted her to the Children’s Hospital.
She was in their care for a week and basically her seizures were caused from her thyroid not being fully developed and not producing enough calcium and magnesium.
I will never forget how kind and caring the staff was there. So I can just imagine if you add in receiving handmade cards, it truly would be an extra blessing in a most trying time.
Annabelle is fine now and has never had another seizure but I still remember that time of our lives that was filled with fear of losing our precious baby girl.
Matthew was also in the German equivalent of a Children’s hospital for a week after birth too. But he is also fine now.
So yes, this cause touches me deeply and now that I’ve found it, I hope to help promote it and donate to it as much as I can! I hope you’ll consider helping out too!
I was pleased to find out that they also have challenges to help get your creativity going so I hope to play along often!
Their current challenge is to use punches and/or die cuts. I noticed when I was getting cards ready to go that I didn’t have many “boy” cards so I’m going to try to do more of those (why are they so hard for me?) so here’s what I came up with~

Femme Fatale

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! I’ve been catching up on some much needed family time.  So nice to just “be” with each other sometimes.
But today I decided I *needed* to craft! Way too many ideas floating around in my brain, must let some of them out!!
While I was gone to seminar, Susana had a wonderful release by Victoria Case for SCACD~~ Sweet Meets Sassy Collection 2! I had played with a few of the great stamps but knew I wanted to get some of the others inky too so today I started with Femme Fatale.
Since it’s the 4th of July weekend for us here in the USA, I decided that this gorgeous gal was going to a glamorous charity event for the 4th so she’d dolled out in her best patriotic attire!

I used the sketch from this week’s Sketch Saturday Challenge 162.
