Merry Christmas with Holiday Anya 3

My goodness! It's been a few weeks since my last card, sorry about that. I got in a funk of sorts and creating just wasn't on the agenda. I think that funk is lifting plus I'm on vacation now until the 31st so hopefully I'll have LOTS of crafty goodness to share soon!

If you know me you know that holiday/winter cards are really just not my thing. I looked back and in 2013, I made 242 cards and out of those only 15 were holiday/winter ones. In 2014, I made 144 cards and again, only 15 were holiday/winter. This year I've made 82 cards and only 1 has been holiday/winter. I don't know why I don't make more. I have lots of winter/holiday stamps, lots of ideas but I just don't follow through. I'm really, really hoping to change that starting now (and hopefully continuing into 2016)!!

Today I have a card using a cutie from The Greeting Farm called Holiday Anya 3. I don't see her in the store so she might be retired. I had fun making her hand muff and scarf all sparkly and fluffy.

I'm entering this into the following challenges~
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I appreciate it so much!! Enjoy your day!

This week we want to see your White on White creations! I must admit these are starting to become a favorite of mine!

I used Holiday Fairy Meg for my card today. She's colored with copics and then fussy cut out. I added some Baby Boy Blue Sparkly Fluff to her trim and then some glitter to her wings. The white background is embossed with two different snowflake embossing folders.

Hope you have the most wonderful day!

Sally and Snowball

Here we are in December already! How on earth did that happen? I guess that means I need to switch gears and start getting some winter cards made.

Today I decided to color up the super sweet Sally and Snowball by Conie Fong from Sweet Pea Stamps. You can find the digi~ HERE and the rubber stamp~ HERE!

I colored the adorable image with copics and then added some Cotton Candy Sparkly Fluff to all the trim on her boots/clothes. I paired her with some papers from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kiss and then added a snowflake and some pearls. I also outlined the shape of the nestabilities die with a marker while the paper was still in it~~ love the effect of that.

Enjoy your day! I'm super excited that tomorrow is finally my interview! Cross your fingers for me!

Be sure to take some time to check out~

Snowman and Girl

Time for some Whimsy & Stars Studio cuteness!! This cute digi is Snowman and Girl~ perfect for those winter cards!!

I colored the image with copics and a few CTMH markers and then got sparkly!! I used sparkly fluff on the trim, some Martha Stewart mica flake glitter for the snow and then Martha Stewart carrara marble glitter for the snowman. I then paired the sparkly image with some papers from Crate Paper-Snow Day, then added some snowflakes and rhinestones to finish the card.

Don't forget that there is also a sale going on! Happy Shopping!

Have a happy Monday! I'm off on a new adventure today...buying new clothes so that I can start looking for a part-time job. EEK!! So scary after all this time as a stay-at-home mom but we really need the extra income. Wish me luck!

If all else fails-add pink, sparkle and a butterfly!

Havin' a ball!

Getting the holiday card train rolling today by inking up a TAC set, Havin' a ball! Trying to keep all the cards I make as flat and simple as possible for ease in mailing and also to help me get them all done in time!

For years I've stressed so much over holiday/winter cards, so much that last year I didn't send any but I think most of it is because I had it in my mind that every card had to be elaborate. I think I've finally got it through my head that it's the thought and not the card that matters. I think sometimes I'm my own worst enemy!!

For the first card I stamped my little mousie in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him with copics. My paper is Echo Park- Very Merry Christmas. Gotta have my sparkle so added touches with stickles to finish the card.

The next card is also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copics and then I cut the image out. I used sparkly fluff for the trim-love sparkly fluff! I used the same Echo Park-Very Merry Christmas for this card. I added some bakers twine and the sentiment to finish the card.

For the last card I inked the mousie again in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copics. My paper is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. I embossed the white cardstock for some texture and then added sparkle with stickles and some shimmer with liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your day!

Continuing on with my challenge to myself...

Still determined to finish the Basic Grey Olivia paper pad for my challenge to myself. Here's a few more cards that I came up with using it. I might go over my 2 week time limit but I think I'm getting closer to it being gone!

My first card uses a set from TAC, Cheery Thoughts--which was designed by Mabelle RO.

The next card uses one of the Tilda's that I have hiding away begging to get inky!

If you want any information about the cards, feel free to email me!

These bring the total so far to 10 cards from the same paper pad.

Uptown Girls Pattie and Dottie-Friends Forever

I think the new Uptown Girls are just so fun! I guess I really liked this one as I ended up with 2! So you know what that means…yup, time to give one of them away!! Details at the end of this post!

I got my Uptown Girls Pattie and Dottie-Forever Friends at SCACD--did you know that SCACD carries the Uptown Girls?

I inked them up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with my copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers.

uptownpattiedottiea

I paired them up with Basic Grey Konnichiwa paper. I thought their boa needed some fun so I added some sparkly fluff to it. For my border on the striped strip I used my Classic Corner die from Dies by SCACD. I added some paper piercing, another Classic Corner die, some sparkle with stickles and a few Kaisercraft pearls to finish the card.

uptownpattiedottieaside

Here’s a quick peek at the inside of the card too--just stamped the image in a light colored ink, one of my favorite techniques (sure wish I could remember who I got that idea from) and then stamped the sentiment in a darker color.

Now onto how you can have this stamp come to your home~

  • Leave a comment telling me what your favorite Uptown Girl is from all the ones at SCACD--you can see them all- HERE!!! ( feel free to go shopping, hehe)
  • Check back here in one week, so on Wednesday July 25, 2012 and see if you won!
  • Easy peasy--good luck!!

Be on the lookout for more stamp giveaways over the next few weeks as I found several that need new homes!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #156

Time for another Pink Elephant Challenge!! Be sure to visit the blog to find out how you can play along with us and to see the other DT’s creations!
This week our challenge is Christmas In July! Never to early to start on those holiday cards, right?

I chose Winter Wonder from Sylvia Zet for SCACD to get inky as this poor stamp hasn’t seen any ink--just such a shame as it’s sooo adorable!! I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with my copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers. I paired the image with Basic Grey Jovial.

I added Sparkly Fluff to her hat, coat, boots and her little bear friend’s hat. Then some glitter for the snow and finally stickles on her bow and candle. I added a flower and some branch punch outs to finish the card.

Hope you’ll join us this week at The Pink Elephant Challenge!

Ms. MyTime

Continuing on with my spa/pamper yourself type cards for my friend (you can read about it HERE), I thought not everyone likes the “cutesy” cards so I thought Ms. MyTime would be perfect for some variety.
Again, keeping it super simple so it will mail easily.

Sweet November Sneak Day 2

(please scroll down for my Shopping Our Stash post!)
Time to share some more previews from the  Sweet November release at All That Scraps! (I just found out that all the stamps are available NOW!!)
Be sure to visit Amy, Nancy and Rachel to see what they’ve created today too!!
Today we are showing the uber cute Snow Flurry Emaline and Mia’s Ornament! Again I have to say that I just {love} this release!! Super, super cute!!
First up we have sweet Emaline walking in the snow! I can just picture her trying to catch the snowflakes on her tongue! hehe!

Then we have little Mia getting a good close up of herself in the ornament! I know I’ve caught my Belle doing this before and making silly faces…wonder if little Mia is making faces too!

I can’t get a good photo of the ornament and how I did it but it looks really neat in real life--I “colored” it in with Smooch (lost the label so not sure what color but it’s white) and then went over the whole thing again with Smooch Illuminate when the first Smooch was dry. I really like the effect.
See you tomorrow for more previews!!

StampFairy Challenge-Back To School

This week the StampFairy Challenge is Back To School! Be sure to visit the blog to find out how you can play along and to see all the fabulous creations from the other design team members!

What is more perfect for back to school then a cute cheerleader? I used the fun Linda Cheerleader for my card today. My high school  colors were red, white and blue so those are the colors I chose today.

She’s cheering on everyone who is going back to school! My kids still have 3 more weeks before they go back, which seems like a long time to me. LOL! I used sparkly fluff on her pom-poms to make them sparkly and have some texture/dimension.

All Peeked Out Peeker

Isn’t she precious? I always loved when my kiddos were so sleepy…as long as no tantrums were involved..hehe!

This cutie is from the latest release from Elisabeth Bell for SCACD, The Peekers 2 Collection and she is All Peeked Out Peeker.

She needed fluffy bunny slippers so I added some sparkly fluff to them!

Weekend challenge between friends

Kristie and I have both have many stamp sets in common so we thought it would be fun to challenge each other once in a while on the weekends with different sets/companies/etc. so that we are actually *using* our stuff.

This weekend we decided to work with our Aurora sets from Victoria Case for SCACD and the color purple.

I stamped Aurora twice and then cut one image out and placed it on top of the other image for some dimension. For my layout I used this week's Sketchy Thursday sketch, Sketch #118.

Here's what I came up with~

The little details~ Aurora with tulips, Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, cardstock, Cosmo Cricket Pixie-Licious-which is 25% off right now, nestabilities, Kaisercraft pearls, Smooch Illuminate, Viva Decor Lilac Pearl Pen, stardust stickles

I had time so I created one more card~ This time from the Aurora 2 Collection, Out on the Town. I think it would be awesome to have a flower umbrella!!

For this one I stamped her flower umbrella twice and cut one out to place on the other image for dimension. I found my inner sparkle on this card too, hehe, I used sparkly fluff, Smooch Illuminate, Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint (I totally, totally {heart} this paint!!) and some stickles! Oh and some copic glitter pens too!

I also had fun and used my Sew Easy to add some touches of stitching. Have you ordered yours yet??

For my layout I used an older SCS sketch, SC315.

The little details~ Out on the Town, Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, cardstock, sparkly fluff, Smooch Illuminate, Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint, stickles, copic glitter pens, Kaisercraft Tea at Elsie's, Sew Easy, ribbon, SU marker, charm, bella baubles,
