Kendra's Card Challenge #7- Card 6

I had totally forgotten about finishing up my set of cards for Kendra's Card Challenge #7. I had my little "kit" with the sketches and all the patterned paper pieces on a shelf and I put some things on top of it so I didn't see it until the other day when I moved stuff around! Figure I better get it finished since the new challenge will be coming out on October 1, 2022!

You can see all my blog posts related to Kendra's Card Challenges HERE

I will have a video up when I finish all the cards!

Today I'm working on Sketch #6! I decided to pull out the Aloha Kit from The Greeting Farm. I've only inked up one of these awesome stamps before so it was time!

For my layout I used an older Mojo Monday Sketch, #539.

Hope and Faith

There's a new challenge at Ching-Chou Kuik's Facebook group! This month we are using punches and diecuts! Easy peasy!

I chose Hope and Faith as my image for this week. Another gorgeous image that I loved bringing to life!

I haven't done a card with an embossed white background in awhile so that's what I did for this card to let the image really shine. I even embossed the diecuts for some texture/interest.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Standing Pretty

A Facebook group that I'm in issued an impromptu challenge today of Paper Piecing. If you've been following me for very long you know I love paper piecing so I had to jump on board! I was so thrilled that I had the day off so I could play!!

I used the sweet Standing Pretty stamp from Elisabeth Bell for Sweet Pea Stamps. Her dress just screamed to be paper pieced!! I also masked off the image to sponge some ink around her and the die too.

I am also on a mission to use up two paper pads~ My Mind's Eye-Stella Rose-Gertie and Echo Park-Springtime so bear with me if you see those used often!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! I have tomorrow off too so hopefully I'll have more to share!

Ohhhh....and I did add some cards to my Etsy Shop today if you want to take a peek!

If all else fails, add pink, sparkle and a butterfly!

Let's make some clouds!

It's my turn to share a tutorial on the Inky Impressions Inspirational Blog! If you haven't checked out all the fun stuff there, be sure to take a peek! Lots of great ideas!!!

Since I am still getting my groove back I decided to do a remake of an earlier tutorial that I did on Making Clouds. I have so many compliments on my clouds and also still get lots of requests for how I make them so I thought it would be fun to re-visit this easy technique.

For today's tutorial I'm using the super fun Hula Lili

The first thing I do is stamp my image and then mask it. For those new to masking it's super simple, just stamp your image on a post-it note and cut out-voila', a mask.  I save my masks so that if I need to mask the same image in the future, I save a step!

You could also skip this step if you want to just cut out your image and place it on the cloud background.

I'm trying something a bit new today. Normally I use a stencil I've had for years but since I don't think it's available anymore I decided to use some die cuts--these clouds are from Taylored Expressions--but many companies make cloud dies for you to use. Or you could even cut your own out!

I decide where to start the cloud line and place the cloud diecuts there. Once I have them where I want them, then I sponge on a darker blue color--I'm using SU Marina Mist but you can use whatever you have/like.

Next I move the clouds down just a touch and sponge on some lighter blue--I'm using SU Bashful Blue.

I just continue this process until I have the desired clouds I want. One trick I've found is to flip your diecut as you go so that all your clouds aren't identical.

You could also use other colors to make different skies. The possibilities are endless!!

From here I color up my image and finish the card. Hope this gives you an idea on how to add some clouds to your images!!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges~

Arctic Princess

I couldn’t wait to ink up the newly released Arctic Princess from Susana Loves Stamps.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored her with my copics. I added some touches of sparkle with a stardust pen and stickles. I used several embossing folders for the layers (SCACD has an awesome selection of embossing folders-be sure to check them out-HERE!). To finish things I added a flourish made from a Memory Box die and a flower.

Have a wonderful day!

Cameo Rose

I’ll admit it, I haven’t been to a bridal shower in forever…truthfully I don’t know that I have ever been to one (oh wait, I do remember a few) so coming up with these bridal shower cards has been challenging, I so hope my friend likes them!

cameorosea

This one I chose the stamp, Cameo Rose by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD. I stamped it in VersaFine Onyx Black then heat set it and colored it with copics. I used touches of liquid pearls and stickles to complement the image. I went with the elegant feel again and used embossed white cardstock as my designer paper. I used Couture Creations Drifting Endless for the bottom layer and Craft Concepts Brocade for the top layer.

To finish the card I added some Kaisercraft pearls.

cameoroseaside

I also have to share that SCACD now has Saturated Canary rubber stamps in stock!!! How totally awesome! I can’t wait to get them! Also some new Viva Decor 3D Stamp Paint is in and it looks so amazing! Be sure to check out the store when you’re shopping, there’s tons of fun products that are must have’s!!

Hopping into SCACD Release Day!

I am so excited for today! It’s been very hard to keep quiet about this amazing release! Lots to show so let’s get to it!

I’m the beginning of the hop but if you get lost along the way or if there is a hiccup, you can find a complete list of hoppers on the store blog, Follow Your Heart.

Here’s a little bit about today’s release~

Here at SCACD we've been "die"ing to mix things up!  So, this month we have the launch of two awesome new Collections.

First is a fantastic new line of dies.  Susana has collaborated on a collection of dies with a timeless, classic feel.  Delicate and beautiful, the diecuts from these high quality wafer thin metal dies will be featuring on your projects for years to come!

Second is a wonderful new direction for SCACD.  Susana is following her heart with a new line of Mixed Media stamps.  For those of you who are new to the concept, Mixed Media is a style that embraces creativity and experimentation. Let SCACD take you on a new creative adventure with the Blank Canvas Collection.  From the beginner to the mixed media enthusiast, these stamps will have the creative juices well and truly flowing!

Each set in the collection comprises looks, perfect for mixing it up with different techniques.  Use the elements set to enhance the blank canvas silhouettes, or use them on their own for gorgeous effects.

In addition there is a fabulous set of word outlines, ready to be customized however you like!  Color them in, doodle, zentangle, paper piece - go wherever your creativity takes you.

Mix it up and most importantly - HAVE FUN!

I am showing one of the new Susana Loves Stamps-Resilient Woman today and several of the new Elements that are being released. I love that everything mixes and goes together however YOU decide to make it!

I stamped Resilient Woman in Jet Black Archival ink and then stamped the word Authentic from the Authentic Set also in Jet Black Archival ink. On a sheet of vellum I stamped Blank Canvas Wings also in Jet Black Archival ink and then cut them out.

Next I sprayed Dylusions Ink Spray in Lemon Zest and Bubblegum Pink onto the sheet with the words and Resilient Woman. I must say I really, really liked the Dylusions Ink Sprays and will be getting more and using them more often!! I doodled in one of the Authentic words with my copic multi-liner .03 so it would stand out.

I attached the wings and finished the card and I must say that I really LOVE how it turned out! So fun!

We all know Susana loves dies so it’s so exciting to announce that we are releasing the first Dies by SCACD!!! How totally awesome is that!! And I just know you’ll love them all!

I am presenting the Uncaged Bird Die, which I think is just so beautiful! So many details and the design is just gorgeous!

For this card I used the Uncaged Bird Die and cut it out 4 times, 1 for each color and then I just cut the shapes I wanted out~ green for the vines/leaves, yellow for the bird and pink for the butterflies and brown for the base/birdcage. It was very easy to do and I think the end result is so pretty!!

uncagedbirda

I also wanted a bit of texture so I used some embossing folders with some of the elements~ these are the ones I used~ Craft Concepts Brocade on the birdcage and bird and Craft Concepts Secret Garden on the leaves/vines. The butterflies needed to sparkle so they have stickles on them! I also thought that the leaves needed a little something so I added a touch of Luminarte Primary Elements Mica powder in Kiwi mixed with multi-medium gloss. The bird has touches of Luminarte Silks in Honey Amber on it as well.

uncagedbirdcarda

You’ll also notice the corner die, you guessed it, another Dies By SCACD!! I am just so thrilled, excited and jumping off the roof for these dies! This corner die is from the Classic Corners set. I added a touch of sparkle with Smooch Glitz in Frost to the corner dies.

classiccornera

I used the pretty Glitz Pretty In Pink papers and some Kaisercraft pearls  to tie the whole card together.

Now you should hop on over to Elaine’s amazing blog! and don’t forget to head to SCACD when you’re done hopping to do some shopping for these must have stamps and dies! For our International friends, Quixotic Paperie also has these amazing stamps and dies available now!!
