Hello Fall

Today's card uses a retired stamp from SCACD called Autumn. I just love this stamp! It makes me happy!

I always think it's fun to see the progress I've made in my coloring and crafting skills so I took a stroll down memory lane and found some cards I've made using this same stamp. You can see them HERE, HERE and HERE.

This is also one of those cards that stumped me. I got the image colored, the basic card layout done and then I sat and stared. I knew it needed something but couldn't decide what. After many attempts that just didn't feel "quite right", I finally followed my own advice and added butterflies, and I felt it worked.

I also tried my hand at heat embossing the sentiment again and I think I'm improving.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges~
Have a super day and thanks for stopping by!!

Ink~ Memento Tuxedo Black,

You are Special

I really don't like taking custom orders for cards but lately I've done a few for an etsy order, this is one of them. The customer wanted a card for her daughter, who loves to ride her scooter. Hopefully she'll like this!!

The stamp is from Victoria Case for SCACD, Little Dianne. It's retired but I still adore it! I've been having fun lately going back and looking at cards I've made in the past and comparing them to now. I thought it was interesting with this one that the first time I used this stamp HERE, I used the same colors! I also used it HERE but with different colors.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges~
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

My last DT post for SCACD

I don't even know where to start this post. It seems sort of surreal to me to be posting a "last DT" post for SCACD. SCACD has been such a part of my life for the past 4 years and especially for the last year when I've been the DT Coordinator.

While I am stepping away from the DT, SCACD will always remain in my heart...as Susana will. I have learned so much from the team--from Susana. I have been challenged to step outside my comfy box and spread my creative wings and I am just so grateful.

I don't know what else to really say--what do you say in situations like this? So I'll just leave it at a great big THANK YOU to Susana for the wonderful 4 years on her team and I'm looking forward to the future as a friend of SCACD.

Here's my last "official" creation~ I had the hardest time trying to decide what stamp to use for my card but finally decided to use one of my most favorite stamps, Taylor from Victoria Case for SCACD. I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. My paper is American Crafts-Dear Lizzy-5th & Frolic.

To finish the card I added some Kaisercraft pearls and stickles. I want some sparkly pink cowgirl boots and hat--how about you?

And as a special tribute, here is a slideshow I put together of all my SCACD creations from 2012.

Sending huge hugs to all my SCACD sisters and Susana...I will really miss you all! but never fear, I will still keep an eye on you all in blogland and through the SCACD store blog!

Snow Fun

Today's card features another stamp from Victoria Case for SCACD, Snow Fun! I love me some snowmen!!

I inked up the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with my copics. My paper is some older Kaisercraft paper, Tinsel. (You can always find awesome paper at SCACD--check it out HERE!)

I added sparkle with some glamour dust and stickles

I almost forgot that I was giving away some Bazzill Timeless paper from THIS POST! The winner via random.org is Denice! I'll get it in the mail to you soon!

I wish we'd get some snow but it's pretty doubtful...only rain in the forecast. Enjoy your day and if you have snow--make a snowman for me!

BFF's

Today's holiday card features a cute stamp from Victoria Case for SCACD, BFF's! I know my Annabelle would love to find a kitten in her stocking but doubtful that will happen with 2 dogs and a bird already in the house.

I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics and then cut her out. My paper is Jillibean Soup-Christmas Eve Chowder. I really liked the sketch I used in THIS post so I adapted it a bit for this card. To finish the card I added some baker's twine, touches of sparkle with my stardust pen and stickles

I also wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Susana, the owner of SCACD. December marks 4 years that I've been on her design team and I am so grateful that she still has a spot for me. I really love her team and am blessed to have a great friendship that has blossomed through all these years with her...so thank you, Susana!!

See you back here soon for another holiday/winter card!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #157

Time for another Pink Elephant Challenge!! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and to see the other fabulous DT creations!!
This week our challenge is to use the color ORANGE! I’ll admit I use to not be too fond of the color orange but now I’ve learned to embrace it and even like it quite a bit.
I inked up Little Dianne from Victoria Case for SCACD with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored her with my copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers. I found an older paper pad from TAC, Brighten My Day that I paired up with Little Dianne.

I masked her and then sponged some blue ink around her just to make her stand out a bit more. I probably should’ve done a different hair color, didn’t think about it until it was done. To finish the card I added a border with a punch, some butterflies and of course, sparkle with some stickles.

Hope you’ll join us at The Pink Elephant Challenge this week!

The Pink Elephant #154

It’s time for another challenge at The Pink Elephant!! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and to see all of Ella’s girls creations!
This week we have a fun sketch~

Here’s what I came up with using Sweet Whispers from Victoria Case for SCACD. I stamped the sweet image in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored it with copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin Markers. I also masked the image and sponged some blue around the image. I paired the image with fun papers from My Mind’s Eye-On The Sunny Side.

I finished the card by adding some Kaisercraft rhinestones, punched butterflies and stickles. I have to say that I love the Zots for Bling glue dots--they are tiny but hold well! Sometimes it’s hard to find something for those small items!!
Hope you’ll join us this week at The Pink Elephant Challenge!

Ms. MyTime

Continuing on with my spa/pamper yourself type cards for my friend (you can read about it HERE), I thought not everyone likes the “cutesy” cards so I thought Ms. MyTime would be perfect for some variety.
Again, keeping it super simple so it will mail easily.

FBW #192

This week we’re sponsored by SCACD!!! Yay!! How fun is that!
I chose Fairy Good Hair Day from Victoria Case for SCACD to work with today. I keep saying when I’m a millionaire (because you know that’s going to happen) I want to hire someone to come and do my hair and makeup everyday--so why not a Praying Mantis, if he’s good..hehe!! I wonder what good gossip he would have about the ladybugs and fireflies?

Lola

I found my mojo hiding underneath my Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad…hehe! When looking through my stamps to see what to get inky I got a big smile when I saw Lola so I thought that was a good sign to use her.
I wish I looked so good when I walked my dogs! It’s probably more of a mummy look when I do it as one dog goes one way around me and the other goes the opposite way which results in me tangled up, LOL!

The little details~ Lola, Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, nestabilities, SU Bashful Blue ink, SU Certainly Celery ink, SU Garden Green ink, Zig Wink Of Stella gold pen, Webster’s Pages- Sunday Picnic & Everyday Poetry, Crafts-Too Spots embossing folder, Prickley Pear mini butterflies die, Kaisercraft pearls

Loves Me

He loves me, he loves me not…how many of you have picked flower petals off while saying that little chant? I know I did when I was younger. That’s the name of another one of the newly released stamps from the Victoria Case for SCACD Fairylicious Collection.
Isn’t she so sweet? Have you ordered yours yet?

For my layout I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge~ I just couldn’t get the sentiment to work right so when in doubt…add butterflies!

The little details~ Loves Me, Memento Tuxedo Black, copics, Basic Grey Kissing Booth, Martha Stewart border punch, butterflies found in my “already punched/cut out” box, iridescent glamour dust , Fruit Punch stickles,

Crystal Rose

I love getting new stamps inky--don’t you? Have you ordered your Sylvia Zet for SCACD and Victoria Case for SCACD new stamps yet?? If not, you know you *need* them so why not head on over and go shopping!!
I absolutely fell in love with Lori’s Crystal Rose card--isn’t it just fabulous? I love everyone’s new release creations but this one just stuck in my mind. So I decided to ink up Crystal Rose today.
As I was masking her and trying to decide what I wanted to do, I wished I had the new Flames Crafter’s Workshop Template--wouldn’t that just look so cool? Me thinks that will have to be ordered soon! Or even the Aspen Trees Crafter’s Workshop Template! I finally decided on a pretty Dreamweaver stencil I haven’t used, Cherry Blossoms.
I used some shimmer chalks that I’ve had forever but I think the new Creamy Chalks that Susana got in would work wonderfully. I used the chalk as I wanted it to be a very subtle effect. Next time I need to remember to sponge some VersaMark on then dust the chalk on as most of it wore off(and hardly shows in the photo) but still a nice subtle effect.

I started with the new City Skyline from the Street View Collection and then I added Femme Fatale from the Retro Crew Collection 2.

Doesn’t she just look like she enjoys the nightlife in the city? This was so much fun to make! My layout and design were inspired by my SCACD DT team mate, Suzanne with THIS card.

Wishes Do Come True

Did you order your new Victoria Case for SCACD stamps yet? No? Whatcha’ waiting for?? Such fun new collections~ Street Views and Classic Retro Crew!! Be sure and order yours!!
Today I wanted to play with one of the images from the Classic Retro Crew~ Wishes Do Come True! What would you wish for if you had a genie? I’m not sure what I’d wish for..hmmm…okay, let’s narrow it down, what would you wish for from a crafty genie?? I would wish for a craft room with lots of space to store and work on my crafts!
I had so much fun making this card! I used my new Goosebumps Shimmer Texture Spray on the background behind Wishes Do Come True and also on my flourish~~ this stuff is amazing! I don’t know that the camera will do it justice but it has the neatest texture and the prettiest shimmer to it. I can’t wait to play with it more as you can do so much with it just by how much or little you apply!! (if you get this and try it--which you should--take a warm rag to the nozzle after you use it to help it spray better!)

You can see the texture and some of the shimmer in this photo
