Dragon week on pause

I just wanted to pop in and say that my Dragon Week is not forgotten, it's just on pause for a bit.

A wonderful coworker, new friend, gifted me a ton of stamps this week so I am in a stampy happy haze as I cut them out and get them organized.

I feel so blessed!! (Alyssa was telling me it was time to stop with the stamps and go to bed!)

A quick video for you!

I'm really intrigued by doing more videos. Sam and the kids got a camcorder for me a year or so ago and I've barely used it so I figured why not! I, of course, have a lot to learn but it should be fun!

In the Christmas mood

I think after all these years I have finally found my love of Christmas again. I have been dreaming of Christmas cards to make and all things holiday, and as my best friend said, I have found my inner elf that has been hiding!

The only downfall is that right now is also when I decided to redo my stamp catalogs which is a HUGE undertaking so I'm not creating as much right now but I know it will be worth it in the end to have the stamp catalogs the way I want them.

I did get this card done and finally got it photographed to share. I am not pleased with my coloring on this at all as I think it's too dark but my family reassured me that it was fine.

Snail Mail

I am really in "sketch" mode this week! Today I decided to play along with the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches~

When I first saw the sketch I immediately thought of my MFT Blueprints 1 dies so that is where I started building the card.

I had help picking out which stamp to use~

After retrieving my die many times, we finally decided on an old Tiddly Inks stamp that was sold by Stamping Bella, Snaily Huggabug.

Alyssa and Keke

Poppin' in real quick to say hello! I haven't felt like creating but that is changing so I should be back sharing creations real soon! Until then I thought I'd introduce the newest furry family members! The absence of Freckles was just too much for me to bear so this past Tuesday we adopted two cats, Alyssa and Keke.

I never pictured myself as a cat person but oh my, my heart has been stolen! I am in love with these two..as is everyone in our family. 

This is Alyssa! She was a stray and is about 1 year old.She is a purr-monster, loves to be petted and has become quite the diva requiring a blanket or towel to lay on vs. the hard floor.

This is Keke! She is about 2 years old and has had a rough time. Her previous home had a dog that bullied her, she's already had a litter of kittens, has a flea allergy and has lost weight and fur due to stress. She started out very shy and timid but has really come out of her shell. She is what I call our "true" cat. She only lets you pet her when she wants it, is very curious, loves to play and loves to explore. Her nickname most mornings now is Tornado Keke. 

My heart still aches over losing Freckles but it's filled with love for these two!!

A little of this, a little of that...

I think my creativity is slowly working it's way back to me. I am finally starting to visualize cards again in my head and I'm getting that "itch" to stamp so I take these as great signs! I'm hoping to maybe sit down tonight and see if I can accomplish anything!

It's been a rough week here. Freckles (our 6 year old Jack Russell/Beagle mix dog) was diagnosed last Wednesday with a malignant tumor on her leg. Long story short, we are not going to do surgery because of where it's located but going to try some medication and just make her as comfortable and happy for as long as we can. 

Right now she's still not showing any signs of being in pain or being uncomfortable so that's good. It's still devastating to all of us as we love her so much.

I've also been busy at work and coming home pretty wiped out each night but that's a good sign. I still love my job and in a month or so will have been there a year!! 

I miss blogging. Seems like so many people, me included, have gotten so caught up on social media that blogging takes a backseat. I miss it. I've met so many wonderful crafters through my blog and well, I just enjoy it, hoping to get back to it more.

Sometimes life is just hard....

It seems I have gone missing again. Life has thrown my family a HUGE curveball.

We had to make the toughest decision this week to put Daisy to sleep. She had gotten so aggressive towards people and animals outside and even lunged and tried to nip Belle. She really started to attack Freckles too. So we made the heart wrenching decision to put her down.

I took her in yesterday and I'm not going to lie, it was truly one of the hardest things I've ever done. I've cried myself out but in my heart, I know it was something that had to be done. 

So I just haven't had the mojo flowing but I'm thinking I will try to "jump back on the crafting wagon" to see if it helps distract me so hopefully I'll have some creations to share soon.

On a happier note, Sam and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary on Thursday. I love that man so much and can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together.

Meet Jade...

For those of you on Facebook, you've already "met" Jade but for those who aren't...here's the latest addition to my crafty room~ a sweet parakeet whom we've named Jade.

We've only had her a few days so she's still adjusting to us but I can already get her to "step up" onto my finger--the "step down"--not so much..LOL!

She makes me happy and not so lonely in my craft room!

 

Beware of wild animals!!

For those that don't know, we live in the desert of Texas. Today when the rest of you are cold and in snow or rain, it was around 74 degrees out. So to get us out of the house, we went to my favorite place~~ the zoo!!

Oh Alice- Chapter 25

The challenge this week at Oh Alice, is to create a card that is all white, with the exception of your image.

Here's what I came up with~ Isn't Aurora so cute with her little baby ladybugs? Oh so sweet! I know I would adopt one or two!! hehe!

Just a little note too...many of you have commented that I've been busy creating and I've had a few emails asking how I can get so much done. 

Well..... both my kiddos are in school and both go all day now so that leaves ALOT of time for me to create, visit blogs and all that good stuff. (if you read between the lines that reads I have to keep busy or I miss my kiddos like crazy)! That is also why I have taken on some extra design teams.


I know how precious time is so I know you can't leave comments for all my creations, I just appreciate you stopping by and looking and I hope I can inspire you to create!!

I think I'm finally feeling better

I thought I was doing better and then wham, yesterday I was totally out of commission. Laid on the couch most of the day cuddling with my sweet Daisy. But today I think I'm finally on the mend. I hope to get creating this evening!!

Things are good!!

Just a little update! Sam did make it home about 3am Sunday morning! It is SO good to have him back.

Feeling so much better!!

Thank you all so much for the well wishes! I am feeling so much better!  A slight headache, I'm sure from dehydration, but 100% better than Tues. and Wed.!! Whatever I had...I don't want it back...ever!! LOL!
I have a card that I made earlier in the week scheduled for tomorrow and I hope to get crafty this weekend but until then..here's some photos of the kiddos and Freckles!
Belle outgrew all her warm weather clothes so we went shopping. She decided she wants to mainly wear dresses--lucky for me we found some cute and pretty ones on sale for 50%!! Here's one that she let me pick out!

I think I am finally feeling more myself. Still a bit run down and sniffly but the weather today was gorgeous! The kids and I even went outside for a bit and I did some yard work--felt good to just be outside!

Thank you everyone for such sweet comments this week. The blogging community truly is so wonderful! I've done alot of thinking this week and re-evaluating things. Guess we all have to do that now and again. The big conclusion I came to is that I'm doing this for fun and that's what it needs to be! I hope to start visiting blogs again soon--thanks for all your understanding!
