Black Friday Shopping

I'm wondering how many of you shoppers were up and at em' early today? Not me. I avoid the stores like the plague on this day! Way too many people for me. I'll gladly pay the regular price for things, thank  you! LOL! But for those of you who went shopping, hope it was a great day full of lots of great deals for you.
I thought it would be fun to have all my cards today deal with shopping.
Starting with one of the new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler Edition 2 images, Fashionista!

supplies:
What I did:
I started by stamping Fashionista with Memento ink onto my cardstock and coloring with copics. I am the farthest thing from a fashionista so it was fun to color up this gorgeous girl! LOL!
Once she was colored I added some accents with my copic glitter pens.
I wanted to keep this a fairly simple card, plus I wanted to try out my new sizzix texturz plates, so I just embossed a piece of white cardstock ( I couldn't get it to show in the photo), then chose a simple layout and simple embellishements. I doodled around Fashionista and the white embossed cardstock.

Next up we have Melanie! I think she's running off to the next sale!

supplies:
What I did:
I started by stamping Melanie onto my cardstock with Memento ink and then colored her with copics. I added azure smooch to her hat band and garnet Inspiration paint to one of her bags. I added stripes to the pink bag with cotton candy stickles. I cut her out with my nesties and then struggled forever on how to finish the card! LOL! I found a scrap of TAC paper that worked nicely, used my scor-bug for the embossing lines, added some final touches (like sponging around the edges of the image and adding embellishments) and she's ready to go shopping!

Since the kids and I aren't going anywhere, I'll probably have a few more shopping themed cards sometime throughout the day--hope you stop back by!!
Have a happy day!

Our challenge for today is Water, Water Everywhere!! Watercolor Only--must color image with any sort of watercoloring (ie, w/ Shimmerz, Twinkling H2O's, SU markers/reinkers, distress inkers, etc.)
I must admit I almost asked if I could take this week off as watercolor is not my best coloring medium but then I remembered, this is a challenge and it's called that for a reason, to challenge you! So I challenged myself to take the challenge! LOL!
Remember to check out Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see how you can play along and also to check out the other wonderful creations by the other design team members.
Here's my creation~ I did "cheat" and did the skin tones with regular prismacolor pencils but the hair, skirt and doggie are watercolored.

paper: some from my scraps,
ink: VersaFine Onyx Black,

Try It Out Tuesday #10

Today's challenge was in honor of St. Patrick's Day. We were to use shades of green with just one neutral color.
Be sure to check out Susana's store blog, Follow Your Heart, to see all the other DT members creations! We'd love to have you play along too!! Create a card/project and then leave a comment on the store blog with a link to your creation. If you upload to SCS or PCP, use the keyword TIOT10.
As I mentioned in the post below this one, color challenges are not my strong point! And then two of them in one day, oye!! But I gave it my best shot. Now if it had been pink I would've been good, but green? It truly was a challenge!! And after I got my card done I noticed I didn't follow the directions very well as I don't have "shades of green". Sigh, I tried! LOL!
Here's what I came up with~~

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Retro Robin, SU Polka Dot Punches -inside
paper: Georgia Pacific, Wild Asparagus Stack
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Landscape
others: copics, granny smith bella baubles, Bazzill bitty blossoms,

Don't forget that Susana has awesome copic bundles now too! and great tutorials!!

Carrie

I've wanted this stamp for such a long time, not sure exactly why but I just love her! I had fun making this card singing Thank God I'm a Country Girl...hehehe! I was also inspired by Ashley's color scheme on this card. I also realized I stamped her "straight" and she is meant to be leaning back on the chair...sigh, oh well, artist interpretation, right?

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 5 1/2
stamps: Carrie and all other stamps by Rubber Romance
paper: Georgia Pacific,TAC Uptown Girl
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Claret
others: copics, black copic glitter pen, sizzlit photo corner die, Bazzill buttons and blossoms, Heidi Swapp jewels,

Babs

How nice does this look? I love bubble baths but rarely take them anymore as it's not the same with kiddos running in every 5 minutes to ask a question or to make sure you have all the "right" toys in the tub. LOL!
Babs is a fun Rubber Romance stamp. I simply love these divas!!
As I started to color her I couldn't decide what color to do the tub in so I decided to paper piece it for some fun! If only it were that easy to decorate bathrooms in real life!
I wanted the bubbles to be fun so I used 4 different colors of shimmerz to catch that fun rainbow effect that bubbles have.

Look at that shimmerz!!

Supplies:
card size: 4 1/2 x 6
stamps:
Babs, TAC retired Here's to You on inside, Susana Loves Stamps Perfume Diva Bottle
paper: Georgia Pacific, Dovecraft Retro Floral
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Claret, Palette Seascape,
others:copics, prismacolors, OMS,

Also wanted to mention that there are FUN things going on at Susana's Store and her PCP site!!
--next week there will be a brand new illustrator coming to her store (I've seen the stamps and OMG, you're gonna LOVE them) which will be revealed on the 13th.
-- a puzzle piece of new stamp line revealed everyday starting this Saturday---guess who or what it is for a chance to win a $25 gift card to store & a handcolored image too

SCS New Year's Eve Party

While I wasn't able to get most of these done in the time frame allowed, I still had fun with the challenges on SCS yesterday. And even though I didn't get them all done, here's what I did get done. You can find all the challenges here!

The first challenge, SCSNYE01, was to create a friendship themed card with some sort of food on it. Here's what I came up with~

Supplies:
card size: 4 1/2 x 6
stamps:
Nay , TAC GWP-retired
paper: Georgia Pacific,
Dovecraft Retro Floral, cardstock from my stash
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black , Palette Iris
others: copics, prismacolors, OMS, sizzlit photo corner die

The second challenge I worked on was SCSNYE02, Remembering the past. The challenge was to use a retired SU set and use 3 layers or less and no bumpy or lumpy embellishments. Since I only own 2 SU sets and the one I just got off ebay since it's retired, it was an easy choice what to use, LOL! I also used this week's SCS sketch, SC209.
I noticed as I was making this card that I must be in the holiday spirit still, notice the colors? It looks black, but it's really a dark green. LOL! I also just realized I failed at the no lumpy embellishments. Oh well, I tried. LOL!

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: SU Living Large,
paper: Georgia Pacific, Basic Grey Figgy
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Jardin Moss
others: copics, prismacolors, OMS, small buttons from my stash, ribbon, Christmas Red Stickles, stardust pen

The next challenge, SCSNYE03, was one right up my alley. All embellishments must be either shimmery, glittery or sparkly. I thought a Twinkle Fairy sounded appropriate for this challenge. I also tried my brand new Shimmerz! Love it! Seriously, if you haven't tried it, run to Susana's store and order some!!

Supplies:
card size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
stamps: Stamping Bella Twinkle Fairy, TAC Be-retired,
paper: Georgia Pacific, Basic Grey Sultry, cardstock from my stash
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Belle Rose,
others: copics, prismacolors, OMS,
Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz, Angel Wings Shimmerz, White Lightning Glitter Dots, Silver Geo Shaped Sparkler Stickers

The last challenge I completed was SCSNYE10, make a card in honor of a friend. I feel so truly blessed to have so many awesome friends online and "in real life" that this was a truly easy challenge. I have a few friends that I want to send special cards to so this will get a start to those.
I used a SCS Bella Forum sketch, BSC54.
Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Stamping Bella Best Friends Forevah, TAC Sweet Memories~retired~on inside
paper: TAC ultrasmooth white cardstock,
Dovecraft Glamour Prints, cardstock from my stash
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Lavender Sachet
others: copics, prismacolors, souflee' pen,
Turquoise Copic Glitter Pen, bella embellishments
Happy New Year!! Any new year goals? I really don't set any anymore as I always felt like a failure when I didn't complete them. But I am going to strive to continue to improve my card making skills, hopefully find some local stampers to get together with and try to keep up and possibly increase the number of RAK's I send out. Basically this year I just want to keep busy as Sam is deployed again for the 3rd time in May.
Best of luck and wishes to you all!!

P.S.
Which do you prefer.... several different posts or one long one like this?

Melanie

Happy New Year!! Hope everyone has a wonderful new year full of blessings to make you happy!

I had to use my new All Dressed Up Stack that Sam got me for Christmas. I just love all the glitter on it. I chose to use Melanie as she seemed like the type of glitzy girl out shopping.

ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,VersaMagic Turquoise Gem,

Isn't Ally just the best? I just {heart} her little dog. You can find her and other wonderful Rubber Romance stamps at Susana's Store !
I colored her with copics, prismacolors, OMS and then added Atyou Copic Silver Glitter pen to the dog tag. I used Tim Holtz Distress Stickles--Peeled Paint for her shirt.
The sketch I used is from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #45.

The paper is Basic Grey Figgy. I used my cuttlebug diamonds in the rough embossing folder for the white part. Then I sponged VersaMagic Sage Chalk ink over it. I added Heidi Swapp jewels and then the primas with a sparkle brad I found in my stash.

On the inside I just sponged the edges again and added a strip of the paper to coordinate with the outside.

Girlfriends on a bench

Another wonderful Rubber Romance stamp. I am really loving these divas. I colored them with copics, prismacolors, OMS and then touches of stardust pens, atyou spica clear pen and stickles. I also used my black glaze pen on the shoes and a yellow one on the purse.

You can see the sparkle in this photo!

I was a creative stamper with this card as well. I added the little butterfly from A Muse to cover up a little ink spot.
The paper is my newest Basic Grey, Urban Prarie. Fun stuff.
To finish it off I added the buttons with scrappers floss and also the retired TAC sentiment on the inside.

Thanks for looking!!

Julia

When I first saw the diva stamps by Rubber Romance I thought, nah, not for me. Not my style. And then I started seeing more cards made with them. And then, yup, I wanted some. So that's what I had ordered from Susana's store ( see the post a few posts down). I couldn't wait to ink them up.
The first one I decided to play with is Julia. I wish I could look this good while reading!! Heck, I wished I looked that good anytime! LOL!
I colored her with copics, prismacolors OMS and I used a stardust pen on her purse. The paper is Basic Grey's Euphoria.
I was looking at SCS for some inspiration for a layout and came across this card! I really liked the way it looks so neat and classy so that's where I got the layout from.

I paper pierced the green cardstock and the ribbon is some I had in my stash. I used TAC's Little Things stamp set on the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate people taking the time to visit my blog!!
