My last DT post for SCACD

I don't even know where to start this post. It seems sort of surreal to me to be posting a "last DT" post for SCACD. SCACD has been such a part of my life for the past 4 years and especially for the last year when I've been the DT Coordinator. 

While I am stepping away from the DT, SCACD will always remain in my heart...as Susana will. I have learned so much from the team--from Susana. I have been challenged to step outside my comfy box and spread my creative wings and I am just so grateful.

I don't know what else to really say--what do you say in situations like this? So I'll just leave it at a great big THANK YOU to Susana for the wonderful 4 years on her team and I'm looking forward to the future as a friend of SCACD.

Here's my last "official" creation~ I had the hardest time trying to decide what stamp to use for my card but finally decided to use one of my most favorite stamps, Taylor from Victoria Case for SCACD. I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with copics. My paper is American Crafts-Dear Lizzy-5th & Frolic.

To finish the card I added some Kaisercraft pearls and stickles. I want some sparkly pink cowgirl boots and hat--how about you?

An announcement

On Friday I signed up with Stampin' Up to be a demonstrator! This is something I have wanted to do for several years now and decided to start the new year off with a new adventure!

The only downside to joining SU is that their policy does not allow for linking to other stamp/craft stores on your blog so it was a very hard decision for me to make but I did finally decide that I needed to follow my heart and therefore, I have given my notice to Susana at SCACD and will no longer be on her design team. This was a heartbreaking decision for me and not one that came easily because I have been with SCACD for 4 years and truly adore the store and Susana.

Out of respect for Susana and the time I've been on her team, I will finish out my DT requirements and my last day on her team will be January 15th, 2013. 

After that date, the only links that I will have on my blog will be to my Stampin' Up Website- Danni Bindel's SU Website. I still may use other products/stamps but I will not be linking to them, etc.

No card this week for FBW

I procrastinated myself right out of time this week so I decided to just take the week off from Flutter By Wednesday! But be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and also to see the Flutter By Team's gorgeous creations!!

We're saying so long this week to Kristie. I wish her the best but also know I'll be "seeing" her in blogland.

Have a fluttery kind of day!!

A little update on me…

I realized today that although I’ve shared things on Facebook, I haven’t shared them on here so I thought maybe I better do a little update post.

Sometimes things in life just weren’t meant to be and that’s how it is with my job at Curves. While I really do enjoy the job, it’s not the right time for me to work. I really thought I was ready to work away from home but I’m not. I miss spending time with my family so much. Even though my hours are very few and my boss is very accommodating to my schedule and such…I just need to be home so last Friday I gave my notice. I gave her until December to find someone though as I know it’s not the easiest task to hire and train someone.

I must say I’m grateful to my boss for giving me the chance to stretch my wings as I learned so much about myself! I plan on continuing to be a member at Curves after I am done working, as my journey to a healthier me is important.

We also recently found out that the owner of the house we are renting here is in default on their mortgage (by 2 years!!) so we’re waiting to see what will happen with that situation as well--whether we’ll move or buy the house.

With all this weighing on my mind I just haven’t felt like doing much but slowly I can feel “me” coming back. The ideas for cards are starting to flow again and I’ve started visiting blogs again and I even caught myself smiling today--just because.

Thank you to all of you who have continued to visit my blog despite the lack of posts and despite me visiting you--I really appreciate it!! It might take me a while to get totally back in the swing of creating and visiting blogs but I’m trying!

I also wanted to share that I also write blog posts on the SCACD store blog, Follow Your Heart, on Monday’s--which feature the new products and then I am also starting a new weekly blog post on Thursday’s which is Danni’s Picks, which features some products you might not have seen or might have forgotten about! Hello

Just a quick hello to all my blogging friends today! I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You to all you who stop by and leave comments--or even just take a looksie. I really appreciate it so much! I have been busy lately and haven’t had a moment to leave comments for you all but know I am still looking at your gorgeous work every day.

My kids go back to school on Sept. 5th and then I hope to get back in a routine then!

I’m off to get busy creating so that I have something to share this week!!

Monster Bash

I have the hardest time making cards for Matthew since he’s not really into sports and he’s not a little guy anymore--where did my baby go? So when I sat down to make his birthday card this year I was excited to have the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Sets from Susana Loves Stamps!
I thought Monster Bash was the perfect choice for an 11 year old boy’s birthday! well, anyone’s birthday really because how fun is this stamp!!

I stamped Monster Bash in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with my copics. I paired the image with My Mind’s Eye-Lime Twist- Fly a Kite papers. I was going to add some stars made by my Cricut but Matthew kept coming by so I opted to add some buttons and call it good! It’s hard to create a card for a boy who is always peeking in my room!

To finish the card I just stamped Monster Bash on the inside of the card along with the sentiment.

I also am SO EXCITED to announce that Susana has released 8 more Dies by SCACD!! These are just so gorgeous and must have’s!!! Here’s a few of them but be sure to check them all out and add them to your shopping cart!!

Birthday Lulu

I’ll admit it. I squealed in delight when I saw that SCACD got the new Birthday Lulu set in from Kraftin’ Kimmie! I think this set is just so darling and I couldn’t wait to ink it up!
I inked up Lulu with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with my copics and ShinHan Art Touch Twin markers. I cut her out with my nestabilities and added a few doodles around the edge before removing the die with my copic multi-liner .03. I used My Mind’s Eye-On the Sunny Side for my paper.

I found some butterflies to add, a few touches of stickles for some sparkle and some Kaisercraft rhinestones helped to finish the card.

Before I go I have to tell you that SCACD is simply ROCKING the new CHA goodies!! Lots of GORGEOUS-MUST HAVE- paper-HERE, new Teresa Collins stamps-HERE and Teresa Collings washi tape- HERE! Lots more awesome goodies coming soon so keep checking the store and happy shopping!!!

I have a busy weekend this weekend with getting together with my craft group tomorrow at a local scrapbook store and then Sunday we are off to a medieval type fest but I wanted to be sure to let you know about some new goodies at SCACD!!

The day is here, Challenge #200 on my Flutter By Wednesday Challenge. A very bittersweet day for me as I am so proud of my accomplishment to get to 200 challenges but also a bit sad as it’s the last challenge. I am content with my decision to close the challenge but it’s still like saying goodbye to an old friend.

Also thought I’d share a photo I took at the zoo on Saturday. We had the best day as it was cooler out than when we normally go and many of the animals were out that we don’t usually see. Plus we had this guy put on quite the show for us and he pranced right up to me and posed--closest I’ve ever been to a peacock!

Getting into the groove…

Sam has been home a week and it was so nice to spend time together, as a couple and as a family. He went back to work today and then he’ll leave again for a few weeks next Saturday. I’m focusing on the beginning of April when he’ll have some leave time and the kids have spring break!

Anyway, time to get back into the groove of things. I seem to have needed a little crafty, blogging break as now I feel refreshed and excited to get back to not only crafting but also blogging which means leaving comments and all that jazz! But it won’t happen overnight, lots of other things to get caught up on too…but I’ll be working on it!

So many talented crafters…

I am constantly amazed at all the super talented crafters out there! Wow! So much inspiration! Tonight I am in awe over two of my SCACD Sisters, Lorraine and Alex…have you seen their works of art? No, well, check them out~

See Alex’s HERE! and Lorraine’s HERE!  I’m a pretty simple card maker. I try some new things but mostly stick to coloring an image and putting it on a card. I love seeing the way others use all the products out there and these are just too fab to not mention!

I know that I’m making a HUGE wishlist of the new Crafter’s Workshop Templates that Susana got in..have you checked them out? You just have too…soooo many totally awesome ones with so much potential!!

Valentine Swap Cards

I don’t know what possessed me but I signed up for a swap on one of the yahoo groups I’m in. I needed to make 5 cards--they can be the same or different (I chose the same, which is rare for me)-- with a Valentine theme, using ribbon and the sketch provided. I would’ve been fine, I think, with the Valentine theme and ribbon but the sketch threw me but anyhoo, I didn’t want to be a flaker so I did my best, although I am going to be late with these so I still might be a flaker, sigh.
