FBW #231

Don't fall over..it's really me..with a creation!!
From Millan.Net

It's Wednesday so that means it's time for a Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!! Be sure to visit the blog to see how you can play along and to see the other fab creations by the Flutter By team!

This week, and this week only, our challenge is any winged creature! I'm sure that will make some of my Flutter By Fans very happy!!

It felt very good, but very strange to be crafting in my new space. Things are all in different spots so hopefully I'll learn where everything is soon!! and yes, I will be sharing photos soon of my new craft space!!

I felt a little rusty at coloring and putting the card together but thought it turned out pretty in the end. Hopefully now I can get back on a creating roll!

Have a happy day!!From Millan.Net

Let the creativity flow…

Have you ever been in a creative rut? That’s what has been going on with me lately. I’ve been blogging for years, making cards for years, the same kind of things..for years.  I thought a few breaks would help and in a way they did but I still just felt blah when it came to creating.

I have been challenged to improve my coloring skills and that has helped a little bit. But I still felt in a rut. Crazy thoughts crossed my mind like I should stop blogging, stop creating. But I knew in my heart that wasn’t going to happen, I love to create.

And then Susana got some new products in. And I rolled my eyes as they are more “mixed media” type products. Not for me I said. As I’ve always said about mixed media/altered/Tim Holtz type products/styles-not for me.

And then I tried a few of the new products.

I can’t explain the sparks that started flying in my brain. The happy giddy giggles I use to get that started to come out.  The desire to create and play and create came back with a force.

So instead of continuing to label myself..I gave myself permission to embrace it and let it flow. I even signed up for an online class with Tim Holtz!

I’m excited! and the biggest thing is that I want to create again! I may not fully embrace the total mixed media/grunge type style but I can find my own fun, Danni style!

So I hope you’ll stick with my on my new creativity journey!

Here’s my first project using my most favorite glitter paints and templates.

Charisma Cardz Challenge #41

I really, really want to play along with more challenges when I have the time and energy so I have once again started a notebook to keep track of challenges (I’m such a paper/pencil/pen gal) and hopefully every now and again I’ll be able to play along. I figure if I have all these wonderful crafty supplies, might as well use them!!
The challenge this week at Charisma Cardz Challenge is to In Stitches-use real or faux stitching. I thought that sounded easy enough so I gave it a go. Of course the hardest part is picking out the image to use, LOL! So many stamps, so little time… I finally decided on one of my Gorjuss Girls that hasn’t seen ink {shudder}, I found my family in a book. You can get your Gorjuss Girls at SCACD! and they are 20% right now!!
You can tell I actually used my sewing machine on this because my stitching is far from straight..LOL! I actually had a few frustrating moments with my sewing machine but I worked through it--I think it was it’s way of telling me to use it more often.

And here’s a work of art that Belle made me tonight using the markers I gave her. She said she likes them much better than her old ones. I love her little scene.
