Sweet Molli

Oh my goodness! This card took me way longer than it should have. I think all the time away from crafty made me very rusty at this cardmaking stuff!! But I forced myself to finish it so now maybe the next one won't be as difficult!

Isn't she so cute!! She's, Sweet Molli, from the new line of stamps at La La Land Crafts! She's Marci's big sister, how fun!! I paper pieced her outfit and also used the heart on her shirt to make the little hearts as embellishments.

You are Special

I really don't like taking custom orders for cards but lately I've done a few for an etsy order, this is one of them. The customer wanted a card for her daughter, who loves to ride her scooter. Hopefully she'll like this!!

The stamp is from Victoria Case for SCACD, Little Dianne. It's retired but I still adore it! I've been having fun lately going back and looking at cards I've made in the past and comparing them to now. I thought it was interesting with this one that the first time I used this stamp HERE, I used the same colors! I also used it HERE but with different colors.

Super Boy

I don't know why but I struggle so much with masculine/boy cards. I was excited to see Super Boy in this month's release from Whimsy Stamps (there's a Super Girl too!! FUN!!)--it was fun to switch it up and make a boy card and it all came together easily with this awesome stamp.

My only dilemma was what colors to use. LOL! I immediately thought of red/white/blue but decided to go for something a bit different. I like the end result!

Be Yourself

Today I have a card for you using the stamp, Wild Sprout Elena from The Greeting Farm. I took a trip down memory lane while looking at my stamps today. It led me to look through the gallery for The Greeting Farm on SCS. Very cool to see the progression of stamps and card makers. I saw some names that I no longer see now which makes me sad but things happen and people move on.

I just know that crafting is my passion and it makes me happy so I don't see me giving it up anytime soon!

This card started out being for a challenge to use orange and yellow....yeah...it sort of took a totally different direction! LOL! Guess I'll try an orange and yellow one again later!

You Rock!

Hello there!! Today I have a card to share that was so much fun to make!!

First I colored up the newly released, Number One from the Art by Mi Ran collection at Whimsy Stamps. I used my copics and really had fun giving her jeans texture. I had posted these photos on Instagram and Facebook and then realized several people didn't know how to do this technique so I thought I'd just explain as it's a really fun and easy technique to use!

Once you have the area colored that you want to add texture, in this case the jeans, you'll need some colorless blender and some fabric, in this case a swatch of denim. (I would do this technique before you color around the area you're adding texture to so that it doesn't accidentally get onto other colored areas)

I didn't get photos of the next step but it's super easy. Just put a little of the colorless blender onto the fabric/denim and then set it onto your colored area. I push it down for a few seconds and then remove. Let it dry and voila', instant texture.

You can experiment with different fabrics to achieve different results. I have used an old towel for a "fuzzy" texture on an animal before. The possibilities are endless!!

Here's the end result of the jeans~

To finish my card I had fun with the Whimsy stamp set, Distressed Backgrounds and Ink Splats. To finish it off I used my favorite Whimsy sentiment set, Everyday Moments.

Winter's Joy

One of the things I'm having fun with is trying to ink up my older stamps that either haven't seen ink or haven't been used in a long time. This is one of those that has never seen ink--{gasp}.

I think that this stamp was one of my first purchases from Whimsy Stamps years ago. I guess it's true, I'm a Whimsy Stamps addict..LOL..I don't want a cure though as I just love their stamps!!

This is Winter's Joy by Crissy Armstrong. And let's not even talk about the color combo I used. I have no idea where it came from. LOL! At first I wasn't sure it was going to work but now seeing the finished card I like it!

Thanks for stopping by and hope everyone is staying warm. This winter season is already off to a cold start for us. Thinking of all my friends in the Buffalo area too with all that snow..wow!! Be safe!!

Valerie's Spring Rain

Goodness! Time does really seem to just fly by these days! I don't know that I'm really all that busy but at the same time it does feel that way! Anyhoo, onto a card for today!!

I am still on my mission to use up the Echo Park Springtime 6x6 paper pad. I thought for sure this card would do it but nope, still have enough scraps for one more card. So very close!! LOL!

This card uses a cutie pie from Whimsy Stamps called Valerie's Spring Rain by Crissy Armstrong. Oh so very adorable!! I also used the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Everyday Moments stamp set by SC Designs

I almost thought I was going to have to start over because as I was coloring up the image, I got the dreaded copic blob.

I really liked how the image was looking so far so I decided to see if I could save it. I *think* I did a fairly good job with the help of some paper piecing! Here's the end result~

Apple Blossom

I love autumn--think I've shared that a few times {wink, wink}. Today almost felt like we jumped from summer to winter though as it was so windy and downright cold! There is actually a freeze warning for tonight. Brrr...

Although I can't hold onto autumn in real life, I sure can make some autumn cards!! Tonight the sweet Apple Blossom by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps called my name! I know she could be used year round but I went with some autumn colors. I also used the fabulous Everyday Moments set by SC Designs for Whimsy Stamps and Whimsy Shapeology Corner Dies on my card.

Here's what I came up with~(the colors really do go together better in real life, they just didn't photograph well)

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm excited because Sam is coming home for a few hours this weekend, then back to Montana for another week and then he'll be switching to working in Minnesota which is MUCH closer which means we'll see him longer on the weekends! Yay!!

Pinkie Little's Butterfly Net

My Annabelle stayed home sick with a bad cold today so I had a chance to do a little crafting. Luckily she seems to be doing better, just in time for her birthday tomorrow! I can't believe she's going to be 10!!

I couldn't wait to ink up the newly released Pinkie Little's Butterfly Net by Elisabeth Bell for Whimsy Stamps! I also am really trying to take my time with my cards and have a new "formula" I'm trying to follow so that I am using my supplies.

My new "formula" is to have an image, a sentiment and to use at least one punch or die. Hopefully I can stick with it because I like how it challenges me to think outside my normal card routine.

I also used Whimsy's Frame of Thanks sentiments by SC Designs and the Mini Picture Frame Die, also by SC Designs.

You might want to watch for flying pigs too as I used an older Fiskars border punch on this card that hasn't seen daylight in years and also one of my distress inks and flowers that have been buried in drawers!! Go me!

I decided to try out the InLinkz project manager and must say I've been pleased with how easy it is to use. I *may* have been a bit giddy when I discovered that my favorite butterfly punch is not discontinued like I thought it was! I almost feel I should buy a spare so I have one if mine ever breaks. Yes, true hoarder here!
