Four on Friday- Paper Piecing

It's time for another Four on Friday with my friend, Alicia!! This has to be one of my most favorite collabs!! Every few weeks we each post four projects with the same product, technique, type of card, etc. but we don't tell each other what we're doing so it's a surprise for us too!

I decided to do a technique for this Four on Friday, Paper Piecing!! It's just so much fun!! If you are new to paper piecing, I do have a tutorial HERE!

So many of the stamps from La La Land Crafts are perfect for paper piecing so those are what I used this week. I recently got the Love You More 6x6 Designer Paper Pack so that's what I'll be using on all my cards too.

My first card uses Snuggly Molli. I just love her hoodie!! As I was putting her outfit together I just kept smiling! I just love it!!

Next up I used Cozy Mona. I have to say paper piecing her outfit made me so happy! I wish I was this stylish!

For my third card I used the August 2020 Club Kit. I just love the Club La La Land Kits!!

My last card uses the Never Change stamp set. I thought it would be fun to paper piece that fun lizard!

Be sure to go see Alicia's video HERE! and my video HERE!!

Four on Friday-Artic Winter Box of the Month

It's time for another Four on Friday with my friend, Alicia!! This has to be one of my most favorite collabs!! Every few weeks we each post four projects with the same product, technique, type of card, etc. but we don't tell each other what we're doing so it's a surprise for us too!

I thought it would be fun to make four creations using the latest Box of the Monday from Not 2 Shabby, Artic Winter. When I created these cards there were still a few of these boxes left so I would recommend heading on over there and swooping one up! Such a great value and great box of goodies!! You can see my video HERE that shows everything included.

I couldn't wait to ink up the Hello Winter set so that's what I used on my first card. Those bears are the cutest!!! I colored them with copics and then used the copic colorless blender to add texture. You can see my video on this technique HERE. It's super fun on this Hello Winter set that there is a stamp to add the cheeks. Very clever!

I thought the Winter Wishes set would be fun on a slimline card. I used the Whimsy Slimline Windows die so I could feature lots of the cute critters. As I was stamping out all the critters an idea struck me, paper piecing! I used the Sparkly Winter paper to paper piece all the cute critters!

Next I thought I would use the ephemera that came in the box. I don't know that I've ever used it but I've seen so many of the Not 2 Shabby design team members use it so I thought it would be fun.

For my final card I used the Big Hugs stamp set. That bear just makes me happy!!

You can watch my video showing these cards HERE and be sure to go watch Alicia's video HERE!!

Have the best day ever!

Four on Friday- No coloring

It's time for another Four on Friday with my friend, Alicia!! This has to be one of my most favorite collabs!! Every few weeks we each post four projects with the same product, technique, type of card, etc. but we don't tell each other what we're doing so it's a surprise for us too!

Today I decided to make four cards with no coloring-sentiments only. Now to some that might not seem like that big of a deal but if you've followed me for any time, you know I LOVE to color and probably 95% of my cards all have an image and coloring on them. It truly is a challenge for me to make sentiment only cards.

After I decided that this was what I was going to do I sat and stared at my craft table for quite awhile. LOL! Finally I decided to use some sketches to make the process a bit easier! Although I'm not going to lie, many times I thought about changing this idea to include colored images, LOL!

My first card uses Freshly Made Sketches #273. I thought it was a great CAS sketch to use a few strips of scraps. I paired the sketch with the Reverse Confetti stamp set, A Friend Like You.

Next I used a sketch I found from Flowerbug's Inkspot. I used SU's Stitched All Around stamp set for this sketch.

My third card uses a sketch from Mojo Monday, Sketch #546. I used my Simon Says Stamp Greetings Mix 1 for this one.

For my last card I just went freestyle, although I know there are sketches out there like this. I used my Pretty Pink Posh Thoughtful Greetings.

Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't been over to Alicia's video, make sure you head there now!!

Four on Friday- She Sells Seashells Stencil

It's time for another Four on Friday with my friend, Alicia!! This has to be one of my most favorite collabs!! Every few weeks we each post four projects with the same product, technique, type of card, etc. but we don't tell each other what we're doing so it's a surprise for us too!

Today I'm creating four cards using the She Sells Seashells Stencil from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. It is fun to see how you can use one stencil but with different stamp sets and inks/gels to create different looks.

First up I used some Nuvo Glacier Paste in Pineapple Delight with the stencil. I've had it for awhile so it was fun to use it. It is very sparkly while wet and then shimmery and gold-ish when dry on the blue. I think I'll be sparkling for quite a bit after using this! But it's so pretty! I paired this background with the Kraftin' Kimmie Beach Blanket Bingo stamp set

For my second card I used some Kraftin' Kimmie inks with the stencil and then paired it with the cute Kraftin' Kimmie You're Sun-sational! stamp set.

My third card was fun! I traced the stencil with a black copic multi-liner and then colored everything in with my Stampin' Up Stamp Write Markers. I paired this background with the Kraftin' Kimmie Life is the Bubbles stamp set.

My last card I masked off a strip and then inked up the stencil. I paired this background with the Kraftin' Kimmie What's the Scoop stamp set

I really had so much fun with these cards. I really need to get out my stencils more often!!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out Alicia's video too!! Have a great day!

Four on Friday- Like a Sunflower

It's time for another Four on Friday with my friend, Alicia!! This has to be one of my most favorite collabs!! Every few weeks we each post four projects with the same product, technique, type of card, etc. but we don't tell each other what we're doing so it's a surprise for us too!

I decided for my four creations this week would all feature the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp set, Like a Sunflower! I recently purchased this set so I was excited to use it!

I stamped on some SU Crumb Cake cardstock for my first card and colored the sunflower with Prismacolor pencils. I really love the look of this but rarely do it! If you want to see some AMAZING pencil coloring on kraft cardstock, check out Kerri's blog HERE!!

I thought it would be fun for the second card to be a mini slimline card. I used my Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Zig Zag dies for this one.

I love the sentiment "Keep your face to the sunshine" so I made sure it fit on the next card and I used some brighter colors.

On my last card I decided to have some fun and use some non-traditional colors for my sunflower. Always fun to switch it up!! I decided to add some clouds too since making clouds is one of my favorite things to do!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out Alicia's video too!! Have a great day!

Four on Friday- La La Land Club Kit August 2014

Last year my friend, Alicia, (Crafty Al) and I started a series, Four on Friday. Life sort of got in the way and it got put on the back burner but we're back!! with a bit of a twist, LOL!

We thought we'd add to the fun by not telling each other what product or technique we're using so that it will be a surprise to us, which is just so intriguing!! The only criteria we gave each other is that it has to be four creations with the same product, technique, type of card, etc.

For this Four on Friday I decided to use the very first La La Land Crafts Club Kit all the way back from August 2014!! The good news is that most of the stamps and dies in this kit are still available!!

My first card is soft and sparkly! I love the purple and green color combo!

Next up I made a slimline card using the fab Slimline Waves Die from Whimsy Stamps. I really love this die for mermaid/water themed cards!! I do love orange and pink together too!! I had fun blending that background with Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink!!

I added Glossy Accents to most of the bubbles and some Stardust Stickles to the pretty mermaid and fish. I LOVE this card so much!! Not sure I can give it away!!

As I started my third card all I could think of was bright, sunny and happy so I decided to use a lot of yellow! It just makes me smile! I thought it would be fun to make a mini slimline card for this one so I used my Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies. I love how Sitting Mermaid Marci fills up the whole card. I thought she needed some sparkle so I added some Unicorn Stickles and some rhinestones.

For my last card I made a cute little 4x4 card with only the fish stamps and some diecuts! So much fun!!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Alicia's video HERE!! Have a great day!!
