Soar High!

At last my card from the Flutter By Hop. I just have been so worn out from the weekend. Between work and then Freckles being up almost every night scared from storms, I'm just plain ol' exhausted but I took a long nap today and feel a bit better. Hopefully no more storms for awhile so I can get caught up on some zzz's!

This card has gone 150+ different directions since I started it and honestly I'm not pleased with it but I needed to just finish it and quit fussing with it! Does that ever happen to you?

Flutter By Hop

I was so excited to see so many fluttery friends want to join in on my Flutter By Hop for my birthday today!! Yay!!

For those of you who are new to my blog, I use to run a weekly challenge called Flutter By Wednesday's! Each week we would flutter with fairies and butterflies. I really miss the challenge so I had the idea to do a Flutter By Hop to see some fluttering for a day!

I hope that you'll take the time to visit each person in the hop and leave some comments!! You have until Monday, September 7th to leave comments and then on Tuesday, September 8th I will choose two winners! What can you win? I'm giving away 2 gift certificates to one or two of my favorite online stores!!

I also want to say a great big thank you to all who joined in the hop today and created some gorgeous fluttering creations! I'm also randomly choosing one of you for a gift certificate as well! I'll announce the winner of that on the 8th as well!

I hope that since it's my birthday today that I can be forgiven as my project is not finished. I had grand plans to finish it up on Wednesday but then the mojo was set on using up that paper pad so I didn't get started on this project until late. The first image I tried to watercolor and it didn't work out so well so that went in the garbage and I started over.

I know it's horrible for me to not have a project for my own hop, but hopefully you'll all forgive me!! Here's a sneak peek of what I'm working on and I hope to have it all finished and posted soon!! You can also check out all my other Flutter By Wednesday creations~ HERE!

September 4th Flutter By Hop Info!!

It made my heart happy to see so many people interested in joining me in a Flutter By Hop on my birthday!!

I've tried to figure out the easiest way to do this and I think I'd like to have everyone who is interested in joining the hop email me by September 1st. That way I have time to get the hop order figured out and all that jazz!

Please don't feel obligated to sign up if you're not really interested!! I just wanted to do it for fun as I do miss the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge I use to run.

Flutter By Hop???

Many of you long time readers will remember that I use to run the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge. I've been thinking about it for a while now and think it would be fun to have a Flutter By Blog Hop for my birthday next month.

Any of my crafty/blogging friends think they'd be up for that? of course I'd round up some fun prizes!

Hopefully I'll get some crafty time later today after errands. This summer really kicked my behind but hopefully I can fall into a better crafty routine once the kiddos head back to school next week.

A Flutter By Wednesday Farewell...

It saddens me to announce that I am closing my Flutter By Wednesday Challenge.

Life is all about changes and mine is changing right now and sadly, I feel it's best to let FBW flutter into the sunset.

I have loved this fluttery ride and all that it's brought to my life~~ great friends both on my design team(present and past) but also from the participants. Plus I have loved seeing all the gorgeous creations each week but now it's time to cherish those things and move on.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement through this all and I hope you'll all still stop by and say hi and share your creations with me from time to time!!

I used a digi from Some Odd Girl~ 1920's Gwen for my card. 

She's colored with copics and then paired with Basic Grey's Lucille papers. I added a doily, some flowers, pearls and a few butterflies with pearls to finish the card.

I used a sweet digi from MilkCoffee called Lisbeth Loves Sunflower. She's colored with copics and then fussy cut out. The pennants are made from Farm House-Sugar Hill papers and added to a white cardstock that has been embossed using Cuttlebug's Seeing Spots embossing folder. I finished things off with some butterflies from a SU die.

I was running a bit short on time so I grabbed an image from my stash of images that are already colored for this card. I thought that the Sweet n' Toxic stamp by The Greeting Farm would be fun this close to Halloween.

She's colored with copics and then I added touches of stardust pen for some sparkle. She's paired up with some My Mind's Eye paper, butterflies and rhinestones.

I'm so excited for today because my new consultant kit comes today from CTMH!! Fun, fun, fun!! Hope your day is simply wonderful too!

This week our challenge is a fluttery recipe~ 3 patterned papers, 3 embellishments and sparkle. When I made the challenge I thought it would be pretty simple but I think from the groans I heard from my team, it was truly a bit of a challenge. 

I used a darling stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps called Tide. She is from Elisabeth Bell for Sweet Pea Stamps collection. I am really loving coloring the tails on mermaids lately...note to self--color more mermaids!! Mermaids also make me think of my online friend, Heidi Brawley, too--yes, must color more mermaids!

I know I'm going to shock my team as I bet they are all expecting a pink card with lots of sparkle as those are my favorite things but I went a different route~~ I used Tilda as an Animal Keeper as being at the zoo is definitely a favorite thing and I'd LOVE to be an animal keeper!!

I have to share that this card uses paper that I have hoarded for over 2 years...maybe longer. I just love it so much--it was hard to cut into it but I did it. LOL! Anyone else have some paper they just have a hard time using?

FBW #253- finally...

Whew...finally got this card done! I just haven't felt well the past few days--nothing I can put my finger on but just blah. Hopefully it's on it's way out as I have lots of fun creations I need to get done for next week!!

For my card I used another Sweet Pea stamp! This one is Tummy Time by Elisabeth Bell (for Sweet Pea Stamps). I had fun adding some fun freckles to her sweet face--it was my first time doing freckles, I think, so I was pleased how they turned out.

I have to say though that I was quite shocked as I didn't have many designer papers with purple in them to pair with this cutie!! I almost always color my image first and then find papers, this time I was almost stumped! LOL!!
