It's a Bella Sunday!!

Kristie and I decided that we needed to USE some of our bellas so we decided to have a Bella Sunday! We challenged each other to create at least 2 cards using bellas--not the other fab lines from Stamping Bella, just bellas!

Here's what I came up with~

My first card is for my bestest friend. She has battled weight issues all her life and recently has gotten serious and done a FABULOUS job at losing weight and maintaining it. I am so proud of her, sadly many of her friends and family are not being too nice with their comments so I decided to make her a happy card using Weightwatchabella

supplies:
For my next card I decided to use i-wish-i-looked-so-good-on-a-bike-a-bella. I haven't ridden a bike in a very long time so I really do wish I looked this good..and look at that adorable puppy too!!

supplies:
  • card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • stamps: i-wish-i-looked-so-good-on-a-bike-a-bella,
  • paper: PTI cardstock, CTMH scraps, SU cardstock,
  • ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,
  • others: copics, flowers, buttons, scrappers floss

Bellas are in da' house!!

I {heart} Stamping Bella and just got an order in on Thursday so I just had to play with them and older ones that have never seen ink~~shudder! My weekend crew--links on my sidebar--might even play along this weekend so visit them if you have time!
I took a break from details but if you'd like to know any supplies or anything, just ask!!
On to da' cards~~

First up is Meredith the Teacup Girl. I thought it turned out cute but it was a challenge as I used all scraps for it...fun finding yellows and oranges that matched!

Next we have Martha Lulu. I tried to be creative with my coloring, not so sure I like it....

One last one for today...Content-to-be-a-bella. I think I'm starting to find my groove again.

Have a happy day!! And thanks for the compliments on the new blog look! I had fun working on it and it feels less "cluttered" to me.

Bellarific Friday! Getting sketchy!

I always have the greatest intentions to participate in Stamping Bella's Bellarific Fridays but seems I always forget! Well not this week!! I remembered and lookie~~ a fab sketch to play along with!

And here's what I came up with~~

supplies:
  • card size: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • stamps: Butterflyabella,
  • paper: SU cardstock, DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack, vellum scrap for butterfly

Daisybella

I'm not sure I've ever inked this sweet Bella up for myself...that seems like a crime, doesn't it??
I thought Daisybella would be fun for this week's Friday Sketchers sketch. I didn't follow it exactly but it was a good starting point!

Here's what I came up with~ I stamped the flower three times, cut out two of them and popped up on pop dots for dimension.

More shopping themed cards

I've been wanting to ink up some of my bellas lately so I figured it would be fun to get a few of the shopping ones inky for today.
I had the leftover cardstock from the card in the previous post sitting on my desk and thought it would be a fun little card. I thought it would be a scrapling, but when I looked that up, mine is alot bigger than a true scrapling which is only a mere 1 1/4 x 4 1/4.

supplies:
What I did:
I stamped my bella with memento ink onto my cardstock. Then I masked her feet and stamped one of my essential ovals under her feet so she'd have something to stand on.
One thing I do, is that once I make a mask for an image, I save it so I don't have to do it again. Here's my "mask" clamshells...hehehe..

Once she had something to stand on I colored her with my copics. I cut her out using my nesties and inked around the edges. I found some more of the Frutti Fusion scraps as I think it's such fun paper with these happy colors. I used my EK Success border punch on the edge of the card. Which I wasn't paying attention and didn't line up....twice, I finally just left it (covered it with the flowers) and moved on. I adhered the paper, added sparkle with my copic glitter pens and some stickles, then finished the card by picking out a few embellishments.

I might have another bella card later but if not, hope you enjoyed my shopping themed day!

Scrappy Frogs Challenge #2

The challenge this week at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog (isn't that name fun to say? I just giggle when I say it) is an inspiration one! Again, not my strong suit but I gave it my best shot. There's a prize up for grabs so be sure you check out the challenge~ here!
So I'll admit it. I sat and stared at the picture for a long time. I even tried to see if anyone else had linked up their creation so I could just "peek" at what they did, sigh. LOL!
The main thing that I was drawn to was the soft blue color so that's where I began.
And here's what I came up with~ I used a sketch from the SCS Bella Forum, BSC63.

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: Daintybella, A muse essential ovals,
paper: TAC Gentle Beginnings,
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Aspen Mist
others: copics, oyster bella baubles, baby blue stickles,

My April Bella Challenge

I'm a moderator on a new bella yahoo group and I get to have fun and issue a challenge once a month. How fun!
For this month I was inspired by Sheri's awesome bella card she created for the homepage contest. You can see it here.
So my challenge is to use a stamp from StampingBella.com and create a card that has:

  • paper piecing
  • bling/sparkle~glitter, shimmerz, rhinestones, etc.
  • stitching~ real or faux

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! If you want to play along, I'd love to see your creations too! Just leave me a comment with a link to your card!

I had so much fun with my card. Been a while since I've played with my bellas. For the layout of the card I used a SCS Bella Forum sketch, BSC58. You can also tell from the crooked stitching that I used my sewing machine for my stitching. I so need to practice more with that! My bling is stickles and shimmerz on some of the shopping bags and also glitter pen on her headband.

You can see all the shimmerz and sparkle in this photo!

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/1 x 4 1/4
stamps: Savvyshopabella, A muse essential ovals, TAC Curls and Swirls on inside, sentiment from Stamping Bella on inside
paper: Georgia Pacific, some from an old stack I've had for-evah!
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Aspen Mist, Palette Claret,
others: copics, sewing machine, button, white scrappers floss that I colored pink with my copics, copic clear glitter pen, iced lavender shimmerz, December sky shimmerz, Diamond stickles,

Wish On A Scrap Challenge #1

I was planning on stamping today, have had a bit of a lack mojo so I've taken a few days off, but anyway, this challenge sounded so fun that I had to do it and see if my mojo was back. I had to giggle as I thought about "my style". I love sweats, comfy t-shirts, jeans, sweatshirts when it's colder. As I was telling Sam about the challenge, we both decided that PMSabella was perfect for me! Hehehe! Although I rarely wear a tank top, and even though Sam and I joke that I sit around eating bon bons all day, I really haven't even ever tried one. LOL!! Fun challenge!
I used a SCS Bella forum sketch, BSC51.

Supplies:
card size: 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
stamps: PMSabella, Enjoy Life from Stamping Bella
paper: Georgia Pacific, TAC Mulbery Meadow
ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Aspen Mist, VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria

Elizabella

The challenge on the bellaholicsanonyomous group this week was to use paper piecing. Lynn is running this challenge and she also created an awesome tutorial on paper piecing if you need some help, so be sure to check out her blog, (she does awesome work anyway so you really should check it out if you haven't before).

I love paper piecing but don't really do it as much as I'd like to so I was excited to do this challenge. I chose Elizabella as her dress just screams to be paper pieced!! I colored her with copics and prismacolors. Oh, used my A Muse Essential Ovals for her to stand on also. I paper pieced her dress with paper from Basic Grey's Sugared and then used stickles on her bag and liquid pearls on her purse.
I had some emails asking where to get the liquid pearls....you can get them at Susana's Store !

The sketch is from the bella forum on SCS and is sketch BSc39.The paper is also Basic Grey's Sugared and the buttons I had in my button box.

On the inside the sentiment is from stampingbella.com as well.

Thanks for visiting my blog! I appreciate it!!

Tis-the-season-to-be-jolly-abella

Whew, what a name!! I couldn't wait to ink up this new bella. What fun she is! I wish I could go shopping with her!

I colored her with prismacolors, OMS and touches of stardust pen. The paper is retired TAC Merry Wishes. I have been admiring Tammi and Kim's use of buttons lately so I added a few and I used my scrappers floss that I've had forever and never tried! Easy peasy stuff! I have to get more colors!!

Inside sentiment and tree are from TAC's retired set, Fun Filled Holiday.

Rockin' Ipodabella

I wanted to use my new ipodabella and as I sat down to create something with her, an idea came to me....Christmas music! I love the song Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and decided that's what Ms. Ipodabella should do.

I first masked her feet and used my A Muse Essential Ovals for her to stand on. Then I colored her with copics, prismacolors, OMS and stardust pens. Her trim on her shirt is fun flock. I printed the saying out on the computer and then stamped some swirls on it from TAC's Curls and Swirls set.

The paper is from my scraps. I wanted to tie in some more of the red so I used the ribbon and then it just needed something more so I added the brads to the corners.

I think she's stylin' as she rocks around the Christmas tree!! LOL!!

Giftabella with hat

I found this image in my image box. Not sure who sent her to me but I'm glad they did!! She is fun to work with....might have to order her soon! I have lots of birthday cards to make again this month.

I used a SCS sketch from the Bella forum, BSC02. I colored her with prismacolors and OMS with touches of stardust pen to the ribbon on the prezzie and the tassle on her hat. The paper is TAC and the sentiment is from TAC's Tag Tidbits.
