Rediscovering old favorites

I've recently rediscovered scrapbooking and it's making me so happy. I will still make and share cards here (I have 2 done that need to be photographed) but it might be quiet a bit more often as I spend time with my family and make scrapbook pages!!

Another quick update...

Today was my post-op follow up appointment. I got the cast off, got the stitches out and everything is healing nicely.

I am still non-weight bearing for 4 more weeks which means no work, no driving, etc. BUT...Sam helped me figure out a plan so I can spend most of the day (every day!) in my craft room! I'm excited to be crafty again!

2 weeks after surgery

Here we are at 2 weeks after surgery. 

I fell again last Friday and hurt my right wrist/arm. Luckily it didn't hurt my ankle again. After that fun Sam went and got me a little scooter thingy and that has made the biggest difference. Crutches are so evil!!

I really think the ankle is healing well as I don't have hardly any pain now and it's itchy. LOL! I go on the 6th for my post-op follow up and get the cast off then. I can't wait!!

I am SO tired of being in the basement. I've been here for 2 weeks now. But at the same time, so thankful we have the basement set up like we do so that I'm able to stay here and recover.

I spend my days binge watching tv, playing games on my phone, playing on the computer and lately coloring in an adult coloring book a friend gave me. 

My family has been awesome about taking care of me. Sam got hit with a nasty bug this week so he was down for a few days but the kids helped out with what they could. I'm so blessed.

I can't wait to get back in my craft room! I have tons of ideas in my head!!

Just checking in

Just checking in to let you all know that I had my surgery on Friday and things went well. I now have screws and a plate in my ankle and am on my road (very long road) to recovery.

The pain was pretty bad this weekend and then I was very, very sick from the pain meds on Monday but here we are at Wednesday and I feel a bit better. I still have to be on crutches until my follow up visit, February 6 so I'm trying to make the most of resting and recovering.

I'm still staying in the basement for now but hope that maybe one day next week I will try to go upstairs and maybe color or craft but we'll see how the pain level is.

Hope everyone is doing well...I miss crafting so much!!

Dragon week on pause

I just wanted to pop in and say that my Dragon Week is not forgotten, it's just on pause for a bit.

A wonderful coworker, new friend, gifted me a ton of stamps this week so I am in a stampy happy haze as I cut them out and get them organized.

I feel so blessed!! (Alyssa was telling me it was time to stop with the stamps and go to bed!)

Ahh the smell of sweet failure? LOL!

I ended up falling asleep on the couch last night too. Sigh. I have the day off today though and will be a coloring fool this afternoon so stay tuned for more craftiness later!! :) 

Mojo-less

Sorry for the lack of posts this last week. My mojo packed up and left town, I think. I just haven't had the desire to create at all. I'm also trying to get to feeling better as a nasty cold bug that started with Belle and then Sam has moved onto me. Yay me, LOL!

I hope that my mojo comes back soon so I can have lots to share with you all!

I'll leave you with a photo of a squirrel with a slice of pizza! LOL! Our neighbors always have critters getting into their trash and then those critters bring it in our yard. Luckily the neighbors usually clean up our yard up though. Anyway, we were surprised when we looked out the window and saw this chubby guy with a slice of pizza bigger than him!! He munched on it, moved it and munched some more. Quite the entertainment for me for a little while! 

The weight of paper

It's amazing how much paper weighs when you have a lot of it! I noticed that my "cube" at the bottom of my 12x12 paper storage was starting to bow out from all the weight on it which caused my shelves to not stay in place. 

I decided I better come up with a different arrangement before I had a big mess on my hands from the tower collapsing.

I ended up emptying the little white cabinet (by the chair) which has always held my embossing folders and moved it. Next I emptied all the 12x12 paper out of the cubes and then split the cubes up, and replaced the paper.

I moved the little cabinet and found that it can hold some of my extra cardstock and odds & ends!

Now comes the fun part of getting use to where I moved everything! I also found tons of paper scraps so I think it's time to challenge myself to use up those scraps!

Every year I write down goals and almost every year I'm disappointed with myself that I don't achieve those goals so this year I'm just going to say

I'm sorry for no new projects to share...yet! I'm crafting a lot behind the scenes, just not able to post those projects quite yet! Stay tuned!!

Almost there!

I have 2 boxes left to unpack in my craft room and then I can get busy creating again! Woo-hoo! I can't wait to get coloring and creating!

We bought a house!

We had our closing yesterday on our house! We should be all moved in by Wednesday so hopefully I'll have new creations to share by the following week!

Life...

No matter how hard we try, life always has a way of making itself known, whether good or bad.

The good that is happening is that we close on our house on Friday! Yay! I can't wait to get my new craft room set up!

The not so fun, my work is busier than ever and honestly I am more exhausted than I've ever been, or at least it feels like it.

Although I like to pretend I'm superwoman, I'm not.

Sadly I have stepped down from the Little Miss Muffet Stamps Design Team. I appreciate all the kindness that everyone showed me, especially Barbara the owner. No worries though, I'll still be showing off those fab LMMS stamps whenever I can.

Hello 2016!

Happy New Year!!

I didn't really set any New Year's goals for 2015 and I wonder if that is partially why I feel it was a year of "un-inspiration".  I don't want to repeat that so here's a few goals of mine for 2016~you might notice my word of the year in each one too!

• Send out the cards I make to help people smile! I use to do this so often and then got away from it...bringing it back as it makes me HAPPY!
• Write in my gratitude journal! I want to focus on the blessings in my life and celebrate all the HAPPY!
• Make time to create! I found myself in a rut always saying I'm too tired to create, I don't have time to create, etc. No more excuses, just do it! create and be HAPPY!
• Cook and Bake more! Use the recipes I've had for years and never tried! Food= HAPPY!
• Branch out and try more non-coloring cards, make more "projects" and explore new techniques in crafting to find some new HAPPY!
• Use more of the craft supplies I already have instead of constantly worrying about new ones! Not saying I won't buy new but I need to focus on the things I already have and be HAPPY!

I hope that whatever goals you set for 2016 that they bring you happiness and love!

A few days late but I have a winner!!

A little of this, a little of that...

I think my creativity is slowly working it's way back to me. I am finally starting to visualize cards again in my head and I'm getting that "itch" to stamp so I take these as great signs! I'm hoping to maybe sit down tonight and see if I can accomplish anything!

It's been a rough week here. Freckles (our 6 year old Jack Russell/Beagle mix dog) was diagnosed last Wednesday with a malignant tumor on her leg. Long story short, we are not going to do surgery because of where it's located but going to try some medication and just make her as comfortable and happy for as long as we can. 

Right now she's still not showing any signs of being in pain or being uncomfortable so that's good. It's still devastating to all of us as we love her so much.

I've also been busy at work and coming home pretty wiped out each night but that's a good sign. I still love my job and in a month or so will have been there a year!! 

I miss blogging. Seems like so many people, me included, have gotten so caught up on social media that blogging takes a backseat. I miss it. I've met so many wonderful crafters through my blog and well, I just enjoy it, hoping to get back to it more.
