I read on Ashley's blog about a Stamp to Spend challenge on SCS. So I thought I'd start my own sort of stamp to spend thingy to see if I can get this spending under control.
My problem is stamps. I always impulsively buy stamps and then I have no $$ left for embellishments, paper, copics, etc. Soooo......my stamp to spend is geared towards when I can get new stamps.
I already have a few monthly "commitments" to purchase stamps so those won't be counted.
So here's my plan:
In order to purchase one new stamp/stamp set I must:
- make 10 cards
- of those 10 cards, 2 must be "old" stamps, 2 must be "new" stamps, 2 must be from images I have received from someone else, and 2 must be for my Etsy shop. The other 2 can be whatever.
- I also must send out at least 2 RAK cards

Earn those stamp girl! I believe in you!
Sounds like a great plan Danni! Since I've been packing for our move, I've taken stock of all the things I have and am trying to use much of what I have before buying more too - that's why you'll be seeing alot of House Mouse cards on my blog - LOL *wink*
Sounds like a good plan, Danni. Good luck with it and if you're successful, maybe I'll give it a whirl ;)
Good luck and great idea. I'm in the same boat. I have a couple sets that I had to have (bought them on release night) and they have yet to be inked. I do make a lot of cards which is great but still not enough to get around to everything (that and I have so many cool images from Wish Rak that I want to use. I just need unlimited funds and more time :)
Sounds like a great plan! Can't wait to see what you create with your current stash of stuff!
Oh Good Luck Danni. I know you can do it. I know what you are saying about the "addiction". I am back on my "stamping budget" after analyzing my bank books for 2008!!!!
Good Luck on this Danni. For me I buy stamps in spurts. I will buy a ton in a short time, then I won't buy any for quite a while. I'm on a buying spree right now.
Good luck. If it works I might have to think about something like that.
well !! Good luck with that then !!!!!!!!! ha ha ha

Good luck with this!! My downfall is embellishments...their like candy to me! Keep us up to date on how this works out for you.
hugs, Jami
Good Luck on that. I'm trying to cut back too!
what a great plan! it is so hard to resist new stamps though, and I keep telling myself that I can create my own backgrounds so don't need to buy more DP! I am going to try to make 2 cards each time I stamp an image, starting today. hugs, annie x
Great Plan Dannie,
One of the best ones I have seen put to paper!!!
I need to make more cards with the Stamps I have as well!!!
I did just do my first sewing on a card I just posted and now I need to do more sewing to justify that Sewing Machine!!! Well in my defense it was only $18, but 18 is 18 however you put it!!!!
Man Girly you have come a very very long way on your cards!!!!
Totally loving your progression though!!!
Keep up the posts I love to see your new stuff!!!
Heather
Good Luck! and I know you'll do it as you'll want to buy stuff, LOL! There is just sooooo much out there that you need to get your little hands on, right?!?!
LOL! I made a similar stamp to spend list. I figured if I made at least 10 cards and sell them, the money I made makes up for the cost of at least the stamp. Unfortunately, it would take me a lifetime to use each stamp that many times! LOL!

I totally have a similar rule. If I like a stamp or stamp set that cost $15. I have to think of 15 ways to use it. Not just 15 cards that I can make, but maybe like for 15 birthdays this year I am going to use this one set. VOILA!! Justified. Not in our world, but in most, we would have gone out and bought 15 birthday cards at over $1. You saved a ton by doing it yourself. What a great challenge!!
that's a good idea!
i can't believe i'm behind 16 posts on your blog! off to continue catching up!
