Okay all you wonderful cardmakers...

Help!!! I've noticed that I'm sort of stuck in a rut. All my cards look the same to me!! I plan on getting some new nesties to help break up the shapes~~to get away from always just a rectangle but here's my question....
Any ideas on how to help me start adding tags, sentiments, embellishments a bit more to my cards?? I always want to but then I'm not sure where to put them or how much or ???
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Also a big thank you for everyone always leaving such wonderful comments for me. I truly appreciate you visiting my blog!!

Hiya,

Look around for sketch challenges, (even if not to enter) just to get a idea of different ways, and tags and sentiments, put on in querky places, or to even hide those little happy accidents that we all have,

What I wrote above is what I have learnt over the last two/three weeks, as all I used to do was decoupage, I have only been stamping for about 3 weeks, blog land is brilliant for ideas,

Hope that helps if not, I hope it encouragement to you, I also use shaped scissors when cutting straight lines,

Hugs
Angie

I'm not going to be any help - I use sketches all the time and then just kind of throw embellishments in there. FYI - I don't think your cards look alike at all! I'll have to stop back by and see what others say as I (and many others I'm sure) could use this advice!!

There are alot of challenges out there though if you really want to try something different! I probably have played along in 70-80 different challenges over the last few months....let me know what ya want to try and I'll point ya in a new direction!! LOL I'm sure whatever you try...you'll still be fabulous!

You're so funny your cards are so awesome. I've felt the same way about mine lately - always the same flowers or die cuts for embellies. One thing that is helping me a little is to cruise through lots of blogs that I follow and save pix or make notes of how they used their embellishments or made layers in ways I would never think of. I've also searched the SCS gallery and googled for a certain word like the name of a punch or some other something I have in my stash but need new ideas for. Can't wait to hear others' ideas.

Hey Danni,

I feel the same way, I always feel like my cards look exactly the same. I think your cards are fantastic and have great varitey so you shouldn't worry about it :) One th ing I did to vary things up a bit was to start doing various sketch challenges. Sketch Saturday, Friday Sketchers, Mojo Monday, etc. These are all great fun and really get me to think out of the box. But truly, your cards are fantastic, I love them!
Hugs, Christine :)

Danni,
Your cards are always some of my absolute favorites. Your coloring is amazing and you use embellishements and such just perfect. We all get into stamping ruts (although I personally don't think anything you've posted looks like rut stamping, lol). It will pass. Just take a couple days off or stamp something just for fun...for no reason except to enjoy yourself! I love your work and honestly don't think you need to change a thing!

I don't think I can help you. I overthink and often over embellish and yeah. You get the picture. I think your style is beautiful. So don't veer too much from that. Just my opinion of course ;-)

I have a large list of challenges stored daily and everyday I "check it out" and print it out. I copy the sketches and put them on a blank page. I make a 2 column page and when both columns are filled on 2 pages I print out page 1 then turn it over and print pg 2 on the other side and put it in a binder which I labeled SKETCHES! It's a great reference. The Daily Dare is a good site to check daily as is Stamping Vacation.

We've all been there sweetie so don't worry your pretty little head. This too shall pass!

Hugs,

I think we all feel that way somedays. We're our own worse critics. Sometimes all you need is a few days off. I don't see your cards as being all the same. Don't be so hard on you ;)
