Tri-Fold Shutter Card

I've been in awe of these fancy schmacey cards for a while now but have been a big chicken to try them. Sigh. I decided to take the plunge and try it out.
I must say I really love how this turned out! so glad I tried this out!
This is using one of the new Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Sampler #2 images, I'm lovin' this release!! If you haven't ordered yours, what are you waiting for?

What I did:
I used this tutorial on SCS. I really like the added video as it helped me not use the exacto knife! LOL!  It was MUCH easier than I expected.
After I cut out all the paper I pierced the edges of all the pieces.  Then I adhered them to the matting cardstock and adhered them to the card.
This was one of those cards that made me giddy as I was working on it! I just love seeing it all come together like I envisioned it in my head. This is truly the reason I love this hobby, errr, obsession!!
Next I stamped the gorgeous, Cherry Blossom, in Memento ink onto my cardstock and colored her with my copics. I added some touches to her with my copic glitter pens and stickles to her bag.

I used my CM cutting system to cut out my image into an oval and to make the mats for her. I also stamped the sentiment in Memento tuxedo black and matted it. Then adhered them to the card, embellished ( I'm loving these new Prima Jewelry for cards, isn't it so pretty on the flower?) and tada..my first tri-fold shutter card!
