I debated about writing this post but then decided I wanted to get it down for myself to look back on.
I use to post my crafty goals each year, then I stopped or didn't make as many. The last few years I've had crafty goals but I just had them written down by my craft table.
I achieved some, didn't achieve some. So I thought about it and really considered whether to continue with crafty goals at all. I decided yes, I do like having them.
2020 and 2021 were my years to spend, I guess. I spent more than I ever have on crafty goodies. I got caught up in the "I want to be an affiliate and buy everything to make $$ on it" mindset. Stupid, I know but it is what it is.
I also fell into the comparison trap often and found that it contributed to my spending. "If I buy this, then I'll make cards that are more like everyone else and be happier". Again, stupid, but it is what it is.
The last few months have been eye opening for me. I quit my job and suddenly had time to create, without stress. I started to have fun, real fun with my creating again. I did what made me happy and wow, the creativity is flowing!!
I am in a great crafting place in my mind right now and the funny thing, I am finding my desire to spend $$ is not as strong. I am having fun using what I have.
That's not to say that I won't buy things, I will. Not to say I'm not going to post affiliate links, I will. BUT I am going to be more selective and not make it a priority.
So onto my 2022 crafty goals:
- Spend less, create more!
- Mail 5-10 cards a month (more on this in a week or so!)
- Spread the love! Leave comments on other crafters work!
- Really focus on using my supplies that I have! Use those old paper pads, use stamps that haven't seen much love or haven't been used in a while! Try new things with old supplies!
- Have fun! If it isn't fun, it's not worth it!!
My One Little Word for 2022 is CREATE!
- Create more cards
- Create happiness
- Create a healthy mind/body for myself
Happy New Year to everyone and I hope it's a wonderful year for us all!!

What a wonderful post Danni! I see in your cards that you love have been enjoying the creative process lately!
Great words! Crazy when I realized what I spent and how big of a diamond ring I could have had lol!
What’s it mean; be an “ buy enough to be an affiliate”?
I also bought so much via inspiration but never used. 🤔🙄🙃
Love love my crafty happy place but agreeably need to create more using purchases I’ve made in 2020 & 2021 - can we blame Covid? Online shopping is too too easy.
Thank you for encouragement, inspiration, truth and vulnerability ❤️
Hear ya! Truth- thank you for honesty, inspiration and vulnerability
Danni these are fabulous goals! I love seeing people's goals and have set mine for the new year as well...I will have a blog series that begins tomorrow with a Reflection on 2021 post and then have something up each day of the first week of the New Year surrounding my goals! I would love to have an accountability partner for my goals! Thanks so much for sharing yourself!
Sounds like you have great goals for 2022 let's make them true! So happy you have joined the KK family . Best wishes for you and family ! Hugs Blankina
