Welcome to another Sparkly Thursday!!
Today's featured sparkle is glitter pens. There are tons of different kind of glitter pens on the market but the two that I use the most are Copic Spica Glitter pens and Sakura Stardust Glitter pens.
I found these three reviews of these pens~~ Amy's and Linda's on the A Muse blog and this Craft Critique one.
I'm sure there are others but those are some that I found easily.
I tend to grab the copic spica pens more often as they are clear glitter vs. the metallic look of the stardust ones but both have their purpose and it boils down to what you like. I really think the copic spica clear is a must have though-it just goes on so nice and well, clear with sparkle!
Here's some examples of each~ (really hard to photograph!)
These really didn't photograph well...the copic spica really do have some sparkle!
Main thing I was trying to show is the difference in the clear pens. Both of the boots were gone over with the clear pens. The stardust changes the color slightly and the spica just sparkles.

Danni, I think it's so great you are featuring sparkly products!! My favorite!! I love both of these pens!! They are staples! I LOVE the Swiss Pixie! Especially the red and green sparkly tights! So cute!!
Thanks for this Danni, I only have the stardust pens but I really love them.
Hugs Ali x
I don't know what I did without my Clear Sakura Glitter pen Danni, it is one of my favourite craft things....LOL. Hugs Avril xxxx
Super cute images! Thanks for the info on glitter pens. I had no idea that there was a clear copic pen. I've gotta try this one out!
Thanks. ;)

I have both sets, but I don't own a clear in either one. I have seen it used on so many other blogs. But everytime I go to Joann to get one they are out of stock. And when I order Copics I foget to order the clear Spica. Thanks for the pictures to show the difference in the two.
Angela

Great comparison Danni. I agree with everything you said :)
I love the clear Spica pen but it is very had to photograph.
Hello friend! I saw the link to your site from the other site, I never expected it was this beautiful and, as well, very informative! Your site's look-and-feel stands out! Really nice!! Keep it up!! I hope we can exchange links...
This is awesome, Danni! I don't own either of these, but hubby is asking for a Xmas list and I can really see the difference between the 2 and now have something to add (ok, to START) my Xmas list. Great coloring!
Thanks Danni for the samples! both pens are great, but you are right, it just depends on the look you're going for... don't have any yet, but i think i'll get some spicas... =d hugs, Kris
Such cute images! Sometimes I color the stardust on a qtip and then dab on the sparkle so it isn't so metallic.
Like you I use both, and I have a heck of a time getting a decent shot of the Spica touches. They look so pretty in person though! Great comparison Danni! :)
Thank you for sharing my friend and they do spark - just like you! Hope you are having a great time and sorry for not being around leaving comments lately. Life has been to busy with all the things happening - as you know. Hope that you will have a wonderful weekend my friend! Kram - Anki
Thanks Danni!
I never realized there was such a difference! I agree..I NEED a Copic clear...oh my list just keeps getting longer...but I was a good girl this year! :)
Hugs,
Lisa
Thank you so much for showing the difference between those two sparkly pencils!
Danni, this was great to see the differences between the 2 kinds of pens. I love both but will say that the stardust ones really show up nicely on your blog.
Hugs
Jodi =)
Oooh, fun topic today! I didn't realize the stardust ones came in so many colors!
Looking forward to next week, I have Spritz on my xmas list!
I think I like the spica because they seem to add a more subtle sparkle to the art, rather than blatant glitter. Of course, if I wanted it to look obviously like glitter, the stardust seem the better choice for that. Neat tutorial! I'm getting ideas for future card making here :)
Thanks for the comparison. I just ordered spica pens and can't wait to try them out! :)
