In a rut…

I feel like my stamping is in a rut these days. That all my cards look the same, which I know they really don’t but I feel I’ve gotten lazy about taking the time to add details to them and therefore, I’m just so-so about most of them.
Does anyone else get into a rut like that? I decided to stop and take some time to cruise through blogland and SplitCoast Stampers to really look at the cards that catch my eye. What makes them stand out? Why do I like them? how can I improve my own? We’ll see if it helps any..LOL!
Today I am using an digi from Some Odd Girl- Cowgirl Mae. I colored her last week at the new stamp group I went to. I wish I had colored either her hair or shirt different as they sort of blend together but I made her shirt sparkly so maybe it would stand out. Once I colored her with copics I cut her out and added some stickles for some sparkle.

As I was getting ready to put the card together I decided to see what the challenge this month was at Some Odd Girl and discovered it was a sketch so I decided to play along.
Here’s the sketch~

I thought My Mind’s Eye-Lime Twist-Fly A Kite designer papers would be fun with Cowgirl Mae.  I’m pleased with how the card turned out. I kept thinking it needed one more somethin’ but couldn’t figure out what so I just left it.

Have a wonderful day full of smiles!

Hi Danni,
I think all of us feel that way sometime. Browsing galleries or entering challenges that are a bit out of your comfort zone might help.
I really like your card. Your coloring looks great and I like the funky paper you chose for her!

Hi Danni I would like to thank you for leaving such lovely comments on my recent blog posts and to say that yes I do get in a rut I find that I am exactly the same at times when I feel I make cards that just get by and do not add as much detail as I could but I love how you have got your inspiration this is a zingy, gorgeous card I love it.

Oh she's so sweet Danni!! :) Sometimes I feel this same way, but find that if I keep working at it...it eventually finds it's way around on it's own. Keep striving and having fun my dear!! HUGS

I wish I were in your kind of rut!

I think your cards are fabulous and are different from one another.

However, I do know how you feel. I get like that from time to time, but have decided that my "rut" is probably my style...
